If you are in the mood for fast authentic Mexican food, then come here. The molcahete is awesome but the tortas are better. My kids enjoy the children 2 carne asada tacos with rice, beans, drink and dessert combo every single time. I enjoy the molcahete and the hubby loves their tender carnitas plate. They serve warm corn or flour hand made tortillas!

This place has the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had! Asada tacos didn’t even taste like asada. I got chicken tacos for my kids and it had absolutely no flavor. Nothing we ordered was any good. For the prices definitely NOT worth it! Not worth not even 1 star but I can’t seem to take it off… lol

Let’s start off with there salsa bar it is fully loaded with goodies… They have 6 salsas to choose from ranging from no spicy to very spicy. The salsa bar also excludes… zanahorias en escabeche, jalapeños en escabeche, lemons and a ensalada de nopales. I might be leaving a item or two out… Ok let’s get to the meal I always get the Torta Cubana It is one of the best I have ever had hands down. And you get what you pay for its a big ass torta! My wife ordered the carnitas plate and they were on point very tender and exploding with flavor and also a generous portion of carnitas oh did I mention the hand made tortillas. FYI They also make a good michelada. I highly recommend this Restaurant for legit Mexican food.

On 9÷28÷2011, I wrote a 5* review on Don Chente. Sadly in the recent year, since they sold or changed ownership it has gone down to 1* and all of us at our office refuse to go back any more. We gave them several chances, hoping it was an adjustment period, but hell no. The meats are completely flavorless, the salsas are watered down, nothing seems fresh anymore and the prices have sky rocketed. If there was a loud & clear campaign, indicating the old Don Chente quality and flavor was back, I would definatelly return.

Let me start by saying, things have changed here. Not certain for better or worse, but I noticed that the dish we were served was different than what everyone else was served, the Molcahete was missing the queso that it normally comes with and as I looked around other people had it in their dish, also the amount of shrimp in it seemed to be less than what I remembered. The dish wasn’t even bubbling hot like what iced had numerous times in the past. I’m a little disappointed the flavor was sort of there but not quite since not all the various components of the dish were not in there and the cooking technique seemed different as well. I’ll still come back to see if it was just an error with the dish since it was a super busy night. No excuse though since everyone else’s dish seems to be hot and cheesy.

Good food, but nothing special. Great staff, and the owner was beyond awesome making sure every thing was going well with the customer service. Loved that they have a mini bar of salsas and other little things for your food like there nopale salad. Not much wait for a table. But it would be nice if they can take your order of you are dining in. Good atmosphere. And there water of cucumber was delicious, very refreshing. Overall I had a good experience.

Great food and all the right ingredients. About $ 32 for me and the wife. Highly recommend it. Eating here on a Saturday afternoon. Food came out fast and parking lot is empty.

Bomb food and pretty waitress, no more smoothies though that stinks but free cactus or nopales if you buy food. Cleavage is nice too

Friday night, date night, for Mexican food! The employees here are friendly and the service, being a Friday evening, was pretty good. If you decide to dine-in, you can choose which ever table you want and don’t worry, there are many tables. As you wait in your table, an employee will bring you your drinks, chips and salsa(salsa is pretty spicy). Soon after, your food will arrive to you at your table. The Mojarra plate was amazing. The filet was nice and crispy and pretty good in size. On the side they add a lettuce and potato salad. On the bottom of all that are the rice and beans. The plate in itself was really good! A good choice for those no-red meat-Fridays. The french fries with the meat torta are also pretty good if seafood is not your cup of tea. Overall, Everything was awesome but the price, the plates are a bit on the pricey side so come prepared!

First off I have been coming to this place off/on for about 3 years. It’s been a good while(about 1 year) since the last time I came in here and we decided to stop by since it was the only place open so late . I think they may have changed ownership and you can tell the difference . 1) the food is way different than it use to be. My enchiladas were good but a bit soggy. 2) it’s a clean establishment 3) prices have changed and gone up

Good food, not so great service. I got chicken enchiladas with green sauce, my wife got chicken soup. Both were very well made. BUT, the food took and extremely long time to actually get to our table. Once the food was here our waitress didn’t show up. We needed refills and empty plates out of the way but none of the employees seemed to care enough to take them off the edge of the table. I guess if you’re looking for food and no service this is the place to go. Oh and by the way, good luck finding parking. Seems to me there’s a lot more cars in the parking lot than clients in the restaurant.

Good food, great service. Always have the Molcajete with shrimp, delicious, good portions, always hot never cold. Been coming here for a couple of years now. I’ve never been disappointed, only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is because parking is such a hassle sometimes.

The food was good and the plate was big with lots for Rice and bean. Didn’t like the fax the you have to pay for a refill. We order two plants and 4 tacos and one for cocktail with two drinks and it can out to $ 50+. I very clean place to eat and it big with lots of sent and tables. With a salsa bar.

Tacos are very delicious! The restaurant is very spacious and clean. Try the asada and chicken tacos! Love how they give you avocado! Horchata is sweet! I love it that way so that was also a plus! salsa with the chips is also yummy, not salty or watery. Other meal items are on the pricey side.

It hurts me to write such a negative review, but I have to say that I went again after one bad experience and nothing really change. The first time I went, I found a hair in my torta. I complained at the counter, and they took it in and gave me a new torta. I was a little surprised that they didn’t offer to give me my money back, seeing that I took two bites and had already lost my appetite. I didn’t eat the second one. A year has passed and I came back because my mom was craving a Molcajete. I ordered the shrimp plate because I didn’t trust the red meat. Unfortunately, it was way too salty and it did not have a balance of flavor that most places have. My mom tried it and also mentioned how salty it was. 10 minutes after we left, I told my mother to pull to the side because I felt like throwing up.

I love coming for breakfast. I usually get the Chilaquiles, they come with two eggs, rice and beans; so yummy and only $ 5. For lunch, I love the taquitos plate $ 9.99 it comes with 4 fried taquitos, lettuce and cheese on top, with a side of rice and beans. I highly recommend this place; it’s always clean and service is always great.
