Lucky’s is just an amazing experience. We come nearly every Saturday when we are in town. The signature cuisine is the highest level chop house and there really is nothing like it in Santa Barbara. The quality of food and experience is everything to them and you can expect to be treated with the same warmth and professionalism you would find at the best restaurants in San Francisco, New York or LA. Seek out Leonard the manager, Eric the amazing Sommelier, Brenda, Shelly or Steven on the wait team. Why do we know their names? That’s just the way they are and we love it! Our menu favs are the Delmonico bone in steak, Dover Sole, Lucky’s salad, raw oysters, grilled artichoke, haricots in season, Affogato just to mention a few. Oh, and be aware that it is not cheap, but the best quality and farm to table comes with a price. That said it is worth every penny!

Great service and ambiance. Go on a Monday and get their Chicken Pot Pie special. Steaks are great too, but specials are there for a reason! Also, don’t miss the french onion soup and stone crab when in season. Highly recommend

I had such high expectations for this place and I’m sad none of them were met. For such an upscale restaurant as it seems to be(and the prices are there to prove that) the quality of our breakfast was similar to what you get at Denny’s. And don’t even get me started on the service. We waited 20 mins for coffee and our complimentary bread even though our waiter said he will be out with them«right away» and meanwhile no one attended to us so we had to ask the hostess to check on our orders. The only pros if any were the décor and the complimentary bread. Not going back.

Such a beautiful restaurant with fantastic steak. I am in love with this restaurant. Let me tell you that the filet mignon was so good. It’s properly the best one I’ve ever had. I can’t get over it. It was so juicy, tender, tasty, and soft. It tasted so expensive. It was like a one billion steak. My brother ordered the New York steak which he also though was excellent. He said it was very tasty and very well cooked. My mother ordered the Colorado lamb chops which he thought was out of this world. Overall i was very satisfied with this restaurant. Best restaurant in Santa Barbra

We came here last summer to celebrate an anniversary as I heard from some friends it was a great steakhouse. I am not a big meat eater yet I was i intrigued to try their petite steak. Best decision I made. The service was great and the atmosphere was wonderful. It was a little cold in the dining area because of the air conditioner but other than that everything else was wonderful.

Stopped by for lunch traveling home from Santa Barbara and some locals recommended Luckys — absolutely loved this place! Filet mignon taco special! The steak was the best we’ve possibly ever had. The Cobb Salad was not the thing to order here. Wish we had tried more and would love to have dinner here. Cute place.

Let’s be straight forward + fine atmosphere for a Tuesday night — wait staff were very stoic and unwelcoming — waitress never checked back up during meal to see how food was — steak was decent, however they covered it in sauce. I was asked what sauce I want, not informed my steak would be drenched in it. Never has this happened before at any other restaurant and now did the waitress inform me that this happening. Couldn’t taste the meat under all the sauce. — old fashion was a joke. Muddled with a gross amount of orange, also wasn’t asked about this. Just if I wanted another. — overall feeling of being unwelcome I cannot reiterate enough. — for a steakhouse, the whiskey selection is lackluster

They have an amazing brunch, nice relaxed setting and the service from the staff was great. Had mimosas and chatted the morning away. Good place to go and treat yourself.

Lucky’s is one of my favorite steakhouses, or was until the other night. I am big on service and the service was sub par. Barely a greeting when she arrived and no mention of specials or anything else. BTW, we discovered the Abalone appetizer by our self which was very good. We brought an expensive bottle of wine which she wrestled with trying to get to the cork. With a $ 25 corkage fee I would expect at least a mention of decanting the wine. We got ok service during our visit but not very welcoming. Another server working the table behind us did a great job and left us wanting to have him change tables. The finally was when she walked over put down menus at the end of the dinner and walked away. Oh, they were dessert menus but with no explanation we were a bit baffled. Fortunately the support staff was better and rescued what could have been a very disappointing night. The food was very good and cooked well. The hash browned potato’s with Gruyère were excellent. Just sad that the food was over shadowed by the service. Hopefully an exception not the rule now.

After working down the street for many years without a single visit to Lucky’s, I finally made a reservation and went with four of my girlfriends – and we had a blast! Our server Ringo was very attentive and knowledgeable, he made sure we were well taken care of the entire night(thanks Ringo!). We ordered a few appetizers to share, but the meatballs definitely stood out for me. And the bread basket with raisin bread was a little something extra. I ordered the petit filet medium-rare and it was cooked PERFECTLY, with a sliver of red, and paired with the mashed potatoes and cauliflower gratin– I was nearly in heaven. Topped off dinner with coffee and homemade blueberry apple pie which was also divine. I cant wait to go back and try more! The burger sounded amazing and I had a bite of the ever-so-flavorful ribeye. Lucky’s was exceptional and it’s easy to see why everyone loves this place. Ill be back.

This place ended up being a huge bummer. The hosts and maitre d’ started the evening out great, and the décor made the place feel intimate and totally legit. And while the food was good, nothing stood out. What turned the evening though was our server who had an overly nice personality that felt fake. We had a few different apps and a cocktail and she seemed fine until my wife asked to taste 2 white wines to select one to accompany her entrée. It took a long time to get the tastes, but once they arrived, she acted put off even though she couldn’t(wouldn’t?) answer any questions about either wine and despite the fact she had just spent 5+ minutes at the table next to us explaining every item on the menu in detail. When she brought the two glasses back one of them smelled corked. When my wife asked her about it she just snapped back with a big fake smile, «so which of the two do you prefer?». Well I guess I’ll take the one that hasn’t gone bad… The glass finally arrived when we had almost finished our mains. We had heard a few negative comments about Lucky’s and how it had gone downhill recently, but we still wanted to try it out for ourselves. I wish we hadn’t. We just wrapped up our dinner and walked across the street to The Honor Bar for an after dinner drink. It was awesome, making us regret our decision to go to Lucky’s even more.

We checked out Lucky’s for the first time. Great place, it has a traditional feel with pictures of Hollywood stars surrounding their walls, white table cloth and soft lighting. The steaks were perfectly prepared and the mushrooms were delicious.

A lot of dining has to do with the guests you have at your table. We had a great time last night at Luckys. Excellent service starting withe a Lucky cocktail. So refreshing, loved everything. We ordered ribs, filet, and I had the salmon. All excellently prepared. Side included cauliflower perfectly braised and seasoned, baked potatoes with all the accoutrements. We ate well last night. They have valet parking which is great as street parking is at a premium. Lovely place, we will be back for seconds.

I joined my boyfriend and his parents to celebrate Father’s Day. We had an early(ish) reservation at 6:00 pm and the restaurant was roughly at 40% capacity. That being said, the server was not attentive to the table and it took an excessive amount of time to get our drink orders in. After our drinks were delivered the server left without taking our food order. We had to flag him down and let him know we were ready. This happened for dessert as well. I ordered the prosciutto wrapped figs with goat cheese and filet mignon with red wine butter and fried shallots, which were a part of the special menu. The figs dish lacked flavor. Period. Not sure what could have saved the dish but typically this should one of the best options on the menu… My filet was extremely overlooked. I ordered it medium rare and it came out medium well. I would have sent it back but I was with my boyfriends parents, celebrating Father’s Day, and didn’t want to deal with the fuss. It was edible but not enjoyable. My boyfriends ordered the Mac and cheese and the burger. He loved the Mac and cheese but his burger was also extremely overlooked. This is not the first time I dined there, however, I’m no longer impressed and not sure if it is worth it.

Came here for an anniversary dinner. The service was good and we liked the décor and ambience a lot. We both got steaks, my wife loved her New York strip and I thought my ribeye was a bit undercooked. The sides weren’t very flavorful. They gave us a dessert on the house for our anniversary, but more importantly the plate actually said«happy anniversary» on it which was a great touch.

Drove into Santa Barbara for a nice weekend and am staying at the Montecito Inn next door to Luckys. We asked where we could have dinner and Luckys was suggested and a reservation was made. We walked through the entrance to Luckys from the sidewalk and entered the bar area. Which I think was our mistake? I wondered where the hostess stand was. But what was really upsetting was that no one approached us. The four bartenders — and the bar was not busy — did not offer any acknowledgment. I believe a busboy told us we could sit anywhere — which he was kind enough to say something to us since I looked slightly confused — and then a bartender, an older man with white hair in a pony tail, said, «are you drinking or eating?» We got up and left. We went to Holdrens on State Street. The food was excellent and the service was great. The best part was that they said hello to us as we walked in — apparently that’s hard to find here in SB. However, major points to the Montecito Inn. We came back from dinner and I told the girl at the front desk what happened at Luckys and the hotel sent up a bottle of wine. Which was very very sweet of them, considering they had no fault in the situation. One star for how cute the bar looked at Luckys.

Beautiful place! There are two entrances from the street: One to the restaurant and one to the bar directly! Genius! Love to start the evening with a cocktail and appetizer, while getting to know the bartender. The Martinis were good and the fried calamaris were fresh, crispy and delicious! The bar is impressive in the sense that it hold a huge variety of booze, in a modest space, and with some very high end stuff! We later got offered a nice quiet and intimate table. Our waitress was very friendly, prompt and professional. The shrimp bisque soup was insanely delicious, served in a deep bowl. I could have been happy just eating that with bread! Naturally, our steaks were prepared, seasoned and cooked to the right temperature and perfection… so were the cream of spinach and fries… Now, that is called the perfect evening out!

Classy– picture low level lighting, white tablecloth’s, tie-clad waitstaff. Luckys is the consummate«Village» steak house with the village being Montecito! It can be a «to-be-seen» place if you sit in the bar or outside after 7 o’clock. Or, go early and get an inside corner table next to the fireplace for privacy. We split the Jimmy the Greek salad and had the Lucky’s Burger and Steak Sandwich for our pre-Valentine’s date dinner. The french fries were a bit crunchy for our taste so our Waitress was happy to bring a fresh batch — this time perfection! Everything else was delicious the first time around. The overall experience was great but for me, there is a cringe-factor with the menu prices. We will never be «regulars» here but that leaves room for others to enjoy!
