I have to admit… this is probably the best peking fuck Ive had in the US. I was recommended by a friend who claimed this was as good as in China. Honestly… Beijing tops this. Im now completely convinced you wont find a good peking duck outside of China. And they didnt cut it in front of us. Not sure if they did this but a friend had his cut in front of him. So. super disappointed about that. It was however very greasy and the skin. although it was crispy it felt like eating a crunch of air. Compared to authentic Peking Duck. Duck House lacks a lot of flavor in their duck. The food however was really good. I had an order of mushroom noodle soup? And a crispy noodle seafood dish. Cant recall the names but both dishes made me feel like i havent had some real good chinese food in a while until now. Very delicious and filling. It is a bit pricey here so be prepared to «swipe». The reason for only 3 stars instead of a 4 or 5 is just due to the disappointment in thr peking duck. I was expecting that homeland peking duck and only got second best to it. I came here on a saturday afternoon so it wasnt too busy or crowded so walk ins are good. no reservations needed. But i would guess this place might be crowded in evenings so i recommend booking reservations if you plan to eat here for dinner.

Beijing style duck was not so super good, even not better than others. It is not worth to pay $ 39.95 for 1dish of duck

I love the crispy duck skin from there, I think it’s the best in LA. Other food was very delicious too! Food came fast and the potion was large.

This is honestly, some of the very best Asian food that you will ever have. I am not the biggest fan of duck but this place cooks it to perfection! The food was overall– fantastic. The service was good and all of their servers were very friendly as well as happy to help with any request. Location is nice and there’s plenty of parking which is always nice in LA. I highly recommend for a great dinner.

THISPLACEISWHEREYOUSHOULDCOMEFORTHEIRSPECIAL: BEIJINGSTYLEDUCK. Of course, that’s what’s the name is for right?! My friends and I were suddenly craving for some kind of authentic chinese food(not panda express) so one of my friends brought up this restaurant. This restaurant is known for their specialty: the duck. We were able to order 2 of these tonight as of other weekend nights– they might be sold out or only limit you to reserve one order. Tips: CALLTHEMTORESERVEANORDER :) The service here is not the best but the food was very good and tasty. We were satisfied with their other dishes aside from the duck. The duck is a must if you are coming to this restaurant. ITWASSOJUICYANDTENDER. Anyways. Aside from the duck, we had their vegetable(a little on the spicy side), their beef filet(a little spicy too) but my friends enjoyed it, the eggplant which I think was a little salty, and the eel stick rice which was something different that I had never had this combination of. Food was good! However, I was not able to take a look of their desserts menu this time but I will definitely try that next time.

A must try, peking duck served whole. It’s a little bit of work but its’ worth every bit of it. You carve it yourself, believe me not the flavor is outa bounce. Juicy and tender.

Everything is worth-trying here and you won’t be disappointed! Even the complimentary black tea is the greatest within that area. Duck House is my favorite spot in LA and I have to check-in here from time to time. 八宝饭 and the green beans and the Duck are the must-tries!

A great place to go to get some quality chinese food beyond just duck. I’ve been twice and every dish(but one) has been great. I’d skip the appetizers and go for more main courses: the portions are great; and this is clearly a sharing restaurant. The duck is amazing as well, but to reiterate, feel free to go for the other dishes, the menu is extensive. I little bit more could be done with the back-room/ambiance was sub-par and wait service came from a button on the wall. Main restaurant is fine.

I got the duck two ways, sticky rice, some veggies, two cup chicken. Everything was delicious and the waitress was friendly. Highly recommend it

My favorite duck place in sgv. The service here is great too, but probably because I speak mandarin, if not then I’m not sure. The food is excellent but the portion is giant so definitely for sharing with big parties. If you come with a party of 2, be prepared to have a lot of left overs. Call and make a reservation before hand so they can have the duck prepare and ready for you when your get there. The duck bone can be made into duck broth soup, which is quite good. And it can also be added to stir fry bean sprouts with duck meat which is good too. If you love duck, then you will love this place too!

As the name of the restaurant says, they are known for their duck. And if you want quick service and a wide range of authentic Chinese dish choices, this place satisfies. HOWEVER, their duck is not really the best I’ve tasted and here’s why: — dry and stringy — too much fat lingering on the supposedly crispy skin — lack of duck flavor Overall, it’s a good deal especially if you’re used to New York prices but don’t come expecting jaw dropping delicious duck. As for the check-in free jello dessert, it’s like meh. They give you something like 6 – 8 pieces on an ginormous plate which I feel only exemplifies how sad the small dessert it.

We had a party of seven adults. It was a very busy Sat. evening, but we had a reservation. We were seated immediately, no problem there. We ordered Duck, Lobster, and their other famous dishes. The duck was great and the Lobster was huge. We also ordered sake. They had a very extensive sake selection and very fair mark-up(consider it a bargain). I highly recommended this place. Please note DO make reservations. Parking lot was limited, but there was plenty of street parking.

This place is known for their duck. Some of their other dishes are hit or miss. This place really reminds me of Sun Wah in Chicago because of the duck combo they offer. We got the following items here: (1) The duck combo: which comes with Peking duck, thin pancakes, scallions/cucumbers for garnish, and sauce; a stir fry of bean sprouts and duck; and duck soup. The Peking duck rolled up in pancake is very good. I like it with a bit of everything: the duck meat, the crispy duck skin, some scallions, some cucumbers and a dollop of sauce spread around. I thought the duck soup was good too and the portion is very generous(more than enough for four people). The bean sprout stir fry was just ok, the duck meat was sparse in it but the flavor was garlicky and good. I actually think the duck combo is probably enough food for at least three people, but they have some other interesting dishes to try. (2) Filet mignon: I’d probably pass on this next time. The filet mignon wasn’t cooked very well and no one at our table was a big fan. For much better beef, go to Newport Seafood(which is known for their lobster but their beef dish is also quite good). (3) Eel over Rice: I’d probably also pass on this in the future. The rice is sticky, which I liked. But this dish tasted kind of flavorless to me compared to the duck. I wasn’t the biggest fan though it’s quite a pretty dish to look at. (4) For a veggie dish, we got string beans. I quite liked this dish because it was very flavorful and made the sticky rice from the eel dish taste better. Also, we checked in and got the free passionfruit dessert, which was good. The passionfruit jellies kind of taste like those jellies you get from the Chinese grocery store that come in little cups. They have the harder texture of the lychee jellies you can get from the store. Also, it came with a pretty flower! Overall, I’d probably come back here again for the duck, but pass on some of the other dishes they have.

I came here thinking I was going to get some can’t –live-without-you, crispy duck in a fluffy bun. I did get crispy duck(which was good, but I feel like the same caliber is served down the street at NBC Seafood), but it comes with a mooshoo wrap which I thought was just okay. Is it me or am I the only one that thinks that duck should be served stuffed in a fluffly white bun? Also, the price tag on this dish was hella dough.($ 50) I came with a girlfriend and we ended up ordering a second dish because who only eats ONE dish?! The total bill came out to about 85 dollars. For a random Tuesday night dinner. Wallet… murdered. I would only return if I had a larger party of at least 4, or only come during the lunch hour where the same food is served for half the price.

I came here twice already, once for dinner with classmates and once for my dad’s birthday for lunch. If you’re on a budget then watch what you order since the orders can get really expensive. When I was with my classmates, we made a reservation for a table of 7. The price came out to be about $ 120 with tip. When I ate with my family, our bill was $ 314 with tax. My family was a table of 5 and we ordered the set for 6 people. The set had their signature dishes which added up to a lot. I would say if it is a for a special occasion then splurge, otherwise don’t. The food is good regardless signature or not. 6 person menu $ 288 without tax, $ 314 with tax: 四喜拼盤(涼拌海蜇/五味小卷/花雕醉雞/鮮筍沙拉) Appetizer Combo Platter(4 items), 法式黑椒牛柳粒 Stir Fried Fillet Mignon Cubes in black pepper sauce, 北京烤鴨 Roasted Peking Duck, 鮑魚燴刺蔘 Abalone with Sea Cucumber, 松露大龍蝦 Baked Truffle Lobster w/Black Pepper and Garlic, 白菜豆腐老鴨湯 Duck’s Bone Soup w/Iced Tofu and Napa, & 百香蒟蒻果凍 Passion Fruit Konnyaku Jell-o. Parking isn’t a problem since there’s plenty of street parking, even if the parking lot is small. I had no problems both time. The service is nice they will have waiters/waitress talking in cantonese and mandarin, whichever is your preference. They all speak English too if needed. Lunch, we came here without reservation. We came right when it opened because it was a last minute decision to come here to eat. I’m just glad my dad enjoyed the meal.

Went here Christmas Eve day for a fancy lunch. Ordered Peking Duck 3 Ways in advance. Also ordered Kung Pao Chicken and Aloha Fried Rice. Peking Duck was the best I’d ever had… Traditional service with duck, crispy skin, pancakes, etc. was amazing. Duck Soup also amazing. The 3rd preparation, shredded duck with bean sprouts was totally underwhelming and I’d skip that next time. Took most of it home to play«Chopped» with… I asked for duck bones to take home and they gave me an entire carcass. I’m making duck broth now at home. Kung Pao Chicken was also the best I’d ever had. Not at all greasy and an extra savory flavor. Aloha fried rice was also very good — fried rice with very little oil, which was a great switch up from typical Chinese restaurant fried rice. Aloha version has shrimp(very fresh and plump, cooked perfectly) and pineapple. Already planning on going back again next Christmas Eve and bringing friends!

Called couple of hours ahead to reserve our Peking duck. Got seated right away after parking the car on the street about a block away. Nice ambience and very friendly service. Check in on Unilocal for free desert. Peking duck. Doesn’t come with buns or those fried chips. Instead you get this rice tortilla which everyone else liked but I prefer the buns. Duck was not oily and we liked how it was deboned and ready to eat. I thought it was ok. But then again, maybe I’m so used to the traditional Peking duck you get elsewhere. Need my oily duck with buns! Chefs fried rice. Very good and I would order this again. Had beef and shrimp with generous amount of eggs. Considering how expensive eggs are these days, they didn’t skimp on the eggs. Awesome! Tangerine chicken. Wasn’t our favorite. Should have ordered the Kung pao chicken instead. Too sweet and salty. Szechwan eggplant. Very yummy. Enjoyed it a lot. Overall, I would go back with my family.

Brother and I was craving Peking duck so decided to come here! They seemed to be booked since it was a weekend, Being just the two of us, they sat us but asked us beforehand if we could finish within an hour. We didn’t mind since we were planning to just eat and leave. It is suggested to make reservations for duck in advance but luckily, we didn’t have a problem. It does get busy on the weekends from what I can tell so I would recommend you to make a reservation in advance. We ordered the peking duck and garlic string bean. It was good, but i feel like it was a bit overpriced. The peking duck comes with shredded of green onion and a thin layer of pancake that you wrap it in with a sweet thick soysauce kind of dip~ The table we sat on already had the shredded onion placed on the table WAY before we got sat and ordered. The lady who sat us didnt even TAKE It away adn expected us to use the same one that was OUT like the whole time… so I had to ask for a new one… *one star lost* Yea this place is good but didnt really leave the BEST impression on my book. I may or maynot come back. who knows

How have I not known about Duck House before?! It’s been in the SGV for ages now. I was going to give this place 5 stars but I had JiRong on Valley a few days ago and Duck House is ever-so slightly inferior. But, here’s the break down. *Duck House serves Peking Duck traditionally and you can choose 2 or 3 ways(duck itself + soup + bean sprout duck). *This particular region of China uses thin pancakes as opposed to steamed buns to wrap the duck. *2 ways is good enough because the soup isn’t all that great. I will give Duck House props for having delicious«water-cooked spicy fish». It’s just as good as a Schezuan restaurant. AND, their Eel Rice is definitely a differentiator too. It’s like a sticky rice topped with eel(like unagi don meets taiwanese sticky rice!) For more americanized palettes that enjoy Honey Walnut Shrimp, order the Dragon Balls(ha). Be sure to call an hour in advance!
