Service was extremely slow. It took 40 minutes to make our food and they even forgot my friend’s order so it took longer. The food came before the water did. We got the soup last. I got the cornish hen with red rice which was pretty good but everyone else’s food was extremely bland. Don’t know how this place even got three stars in the first place. Never coming back again.

Enjoying this yummy place with big group of friends. I always enjoy their affordable prices and late night staying late. I don’t come here for family style. I always dig the café style foods. from my regular chicken state and salmon. Today is a good day. Nothing going on here. Quick services. Free ice tea and giant pitchers. The food is okay or good. I like it for the locations but i am sucker for their soufflés

Place has good business. I was seated in literally 5 seconds. After we ordered, food came out really fast. Pricing is very reasonable. Would come here again.

The steak is amazing for only $ 8 and they cooked it so good, really juicy. I got the thai beef noodle and it was not good. I would definitely come back for their steak and stir fry noodles but not the soup. Everything is really cheap

Open late. Quick service. Variety of food to choose from! I ordered a spicy noodle plate and it was alright. Place looks neat. Food came out quick and the service was cool. I feel the quality of the food could be way better. I wouldn’t try this place again, my experience wasn’t that good. Try elsewhere. If looking for somewhere to eat anytime after midnight then I suppose you can try here. Just watch your food however and how it came out.

Me and my friends went here late at night just to grab a snack. I was expecting cheap and filling Chinese food, but I got neither of those things. I ordered a beef with spaghetti and tomato sauce, that came out as a beef with spaghetti in soup(mistake was understandable seeing how the two dishes were right next to each other). So I told them and they made the original dish instead. When my dish came out, it looked small and cheap. A small bowl with some slices of beef, spaghetti, and sauce that they probably just heated up from a can. I was even more disappointed since the dish was over $ 6, but eh what do you expect from a place that opens late at night.

Omg. I hate this place I used to come here all the time for late night snack but the waiters r rude and asses. They walk to out table to see if we’re done eating n not refill our drinks. We constantly have to ask for plates, bowls, and sauce. They get one thing n forgets the others. The two young Asian guys r the worst. Their very lazy n rather b sitting around n playing on their phones or talking among themselves. Food n price are ok

This one star is for the b*tch face lady waitress that the owner keeps on tolerating despite numerous complains I’ve seen customers made about her. If you have had food here and you have had her service, you know who I am talking about. She even claims she wants to be fired because she can get unemployment. Maybe this is the signature worker they want people to post and rave about.

We came to this place looking for some boba drinks after the café we really intended to go to next door was too packed. This place was pretty dead so there was plenty of space to sit. The menu is huge with lots of pictures serving Hong Kong style east-west mishmash food. They have large portions of the menu devoted to advertising reasonably priced lunch and dinner specials which include a beverage for free or greatly reduced in price. Sounds good, right? Well, menus can be deceiving. We ordered and waited for our food. Even with just a few tables occupied, the wait for food took a long time, around 30 minutes. The drinks came first. Pretty unimpressive. I ordered hot milk tea, expecting perhaps some hot water and a tea bag and a side of cream or milk. What I got was lukewarm lackluster tasteless«hot» tea in a mug already mixed with what tasted like gross, canned evaporated milk. It came with a pitcher of condensed milk. I would have preferred the tea to not have anything in it, especially if it was going to be evaporated milk which I particularly dislike due to its off flavors. I added condensed milk because the milk tea was completely unsweetened, which would have been fine, but the tea also tasted somewhat salty, which is flat out disgusting without further doctoring. The food took another 10 – 15 minutes to arrive so my «hot» tea was completely cold by the time I wanted to drink it with my meal. The food itself was disappointing as well. I ordered Japanese eel with chicken over rice. The eel looked like it had gone through a shredder and maybe got half eaten before plating. It was completely covered with goopy sauce the consistency of canned pie filling. The chicken was weird because it seemed to have been only pan-fried without flavorings and then placed on the side of the eel. I guess the gunky eel sauce was supposed to be used for both proteins. It was served on a bed of rice, which tasted like it was leftover rice that was unevenly microwaved to lava-hot temperatures in some spots and room temperature in other spots. There was a garnish of wilted pickled cucumbers and looked like it had seen better days that I had zero urge to eat. This was a terrible dish of food and they should be ashamed to serve it. So the food was bad, maybe the service would help to make up for it? Nope. The table was set with just a fork so I asked for chopsticks and the waitress asked me «Do you know how to use it?» I was dumbfounded«Uh, yeah, I do. I’m Chinese.» Even if I weren’t Chinese, if I ask for an eating utensil, I don’t really expect to have to justify why I need it. To make matters worse, I didn’t even get the chopsticks. I had to ask two other people for chopsticks before I finally got it. After that, it was like a service staff ghost town. Nobody even walking by to ask for anything so forget about wanting refills on anything. While we were there, there would periodically be very loud banging noises coming from the vicinity of the kitchen. We joked with each other that they were killing all the service staff back there which would explain why there was nobody around. This is a really weird restaurant. The prices seem cheap but the food is terrible so it’s still a bad deal. Service in Monterey Park is always kind of questionable anyway but this place really takes to heart that laissez-faire attitude about not caring about pleasing customers.

The food here is okay, it isn’t good but it isn’t bad. The service is horrible and very slow. Prices are a little bit too high considering it’s quality. Parking isn’t that big of a deal since there is under ground parking, and you can always find parking spots since it is never fully packed. So recently I ate here for a late night meal. There were a few customers so there were many open tables. It also seemed that they were short on staff. Only one employee was working for cashier and server and busing tables. The rest were cooks. So even though it wasn’t busy the service was still slow. The food was alright, the hotpots that they serve are bland. Sometimes they over salt their food or under salt it. The server was also rude as well. I do not recommend coming here.

Been coming here since I was a young. Food is good Service: no one bothers you except when you want a refill, it’s hard to flag them down but overall it’s a good Chinese café . Good deals too :) a lot of the food comes with sides and even drinks. I thought to myself ‚” wow, everything is so cheap” but it’s good food and quantity. Can’t beat it

Good place to drop by for simple tasty snack. Enjoyable atmosphere, good drinks. Only thing that annoyed me is they forgot about us. After they seated us it was another 20min. until they came back for our orders. And it took another 20min. for our drinks to come.

My friends and I came here as a second option due to the closing time of the first restaurant we wanted. We didn’t mind too much because being hungry calls for any food in general, right? So we gave this place a try! One friend already has been here while me and the third friend haven’t been. We got seated right away and got our orders taken. At first the service was nice and fast. I looked around and I see other tables waving their hands around like they were stranded on an island and then they finally see a plane or something. A lot of the waiters were in areas that couldn’t see the customers unless they walked around their tables. Our food came and it was pretty yummy for the most part. I ordered the Spicy Indo Chow Fun and that was very tasty and it had the right amount of spice for me. One of my friends ordered small chunks of steak with tomato rice. My other friend ordered Spicy Hong King Noodles and hers came with a small bowl of soup. My friend said that her HK noodles weren’t spicy at all to her and we thought that maybe since she likes spicy food a lot, it wasn’t spicy enough. But then I also tried it and it didn’t seem to have much spice to me either. Now this is the part where my rating for them went from a possible 3 – 4 stars straight down to 2 stars. THEIRSOUPWASJUSTPURESALT. This was the soup that came with my friend’s HK noodles. It’s like the chef wasn’t looking while he added salt and he ended up putting the entire container of it in or something. My friend said it was SO salty and we didn’t really say much at first but then I tried it myself and I literally almost spit it right back out. It was pure disgusting. My other friend also tried it and she thought the same. Being as upset and disgusted, I told our waiter that this soup was very salty and that there’s something wrong with it. But what he gave us back was just attitude and a huge flat hand straight to my friend’s face. When he came back, HEGAVEUS A TO-GOCONTAINERFORTHESOUP. What? He kept saying«ok ok» then puts his hand up. But clearly he didn’t understand. We were just staring at each other and just started laughing. It was so ridiculous. Anyways, food was alright and apparently they give out free soups(soup of the day) during the day until they run out. And it was sad because my friend who ordered the HK noodles was so excited for the soup that came with it since she was bummed they didn’t have anymore soup of the day. And it turned out to be just salt she was drinking. If this ever happens to you, I would suggest to make sure you talk to someone that knows what you’re saying so they can fix it for you or do something at least.

This place always had a problem whenever I’ve come. Years ago their electricity was out. Another time they ran out of the food I wanted. This time my wonton noodle soup sucked. The noodles were not the egg noodle you see at other places. It looked like wheat noodles. It was bland and thick. I felt like there was sand in my soup because I kept crunching on something. I found little rocks from the un-deveined. Just don’t order the wonton noodle soup. The steak and eggs were good. The meat was cooked perfectly to medium and the over easy eggs came out fine. The porridge was good. The service isn’t the best. Our waiter started eating breakfast in front of us and when we tried to waive another waiter down he saw us and went right back to eating. Didn’t even tell anyone we needed help. They have a skill to ignore people and not see the raised hands.

Not bad! Met with a few friends to get here on an early Saturday morning. I really like the fact that it was an Asian café open so early, so definitely points there. Opened on 7am on a Saturday. There is parking in the shopping center, and more below ground. Spaces are a little small, but this is an Asian shopping center. When we came by, told them our number of people, and were able to get seated immediately. Got our menus as well. Unfortunately, they kind of forgot about us, and we didn’t order for around 20 minutes. It’s okay, we had great company with us, so we didn’t really notice. Got in our drink orders and our breakfast orders. For 6 people, total came out to under $ 40 + tip. Food: I liked it! We all went for the more traditional items, like different rice porridges, thick noodles, fried noodles, and rice. Everything came out pretty well. Of course, the way that they were able to get the food out more quickly is with more oil and a higher cooking temperature. So, the fried noodles were quite oily, but it was fine. The rice porridges were good. It had enough ingredients that it didn’t feel like we were skimped on. It also was big enough that I couldn’t even finish the side order that came with it(fried noodles). Drinks: Drinks come with the breakfast sets. I only had water, as hubby and I would be out in the sun for the rest of the day and I didn’t want to get dehydrated. Otherwise, the group had coffee(with as much condensed milk as they wanted), and lemon iced tea. Hubby typically doesn’t like teas that are too sweet, and there was definitely additional sugar in his tea. Definitely sweet! But, still good. Service: It’s okay. It’s what you get at any hard-core Asian restaurant. And, as super-busy as they were, they were hustling and got everything down. Price: super-excellent. Well worth the prices, and you will get full. Cleanliness: it’s good. Didn’t find any major issues, and I don’t think anyone got sick afterwards. Overall, everyone in your group will find something to eat. They are open during times that most places are closed, and prices are great. Good for groups!

My friend is a fan of this place but I found it to be serving something borderline stereotypical American Chinese food, which was a letdown. The dishes we got were also quite greasy and unmemorable. They seemed just like what you’d expect to get from a street stand in Hong Kong, but not a good one — quick and easy ingredients thrown together and served up with little care. The décor and service are also what you’d expect from a nonchalant staff at an average lackluster Chinese diner. I see it as a potentially good drunk food in the wee hours, if I ever went drinking around here, that is.

I am a lover of cafes. They open late & the food isn’t bad but I’ll tell you one thing. The owner is awesome. But some of her workers are bitches. I won’t censor this one. There’s one in particular who walks around with nappy hair & throws food on the table & glares at everyone as she walks by. There is one little guy that works during the night that provides FANTASTIC customer service every single time I’m there. Never misses a beat. People like him, I don’t mind tipping above the percentage. People like that female get tipped fat flying cockroaches. I come here often & that’s something that won’t change.

Wow man… who dilutes Tabasco Sauce(which is already cheap enough to begin with)? KT, that’s who! I could taste the tap water in the Tabasco, bunch of cheap BASTARDS. I came here for breakfast with a few gym buddies. I got the scrambled egg sandwich and an iced tea with milk. And WOW, it was pretty awful. Some scrambled eggs placed in between two skimpy pieces of bread with the crust cut off; what am I, a second grader??? It came with a spoonful of corn as a «side.» ABSOLUTELYPATHETIC. Even paying $ 3.50 for the«meal» was an insult. Go to Baccali’s over this place.

Another typical Hong Kong Café. Nestled in a small plaza. Parking is limited & there’s an underground parking area which is also limited. There’s street parking as well. A small place, a bit run down café but offers quite a bit of choices & specials. I ordered the Rice porridge with preserved eggs & salted pork. It was well seasoned & consistency was good. Not too thick & not too thin. They were generous with the eggs & meat. The side I choose was soy sauce noodles. A simple noodle with some scallions, onions, & bean sprouts. The servers were nice & friendly. They came around checking on you quite often & refilled your drinks frequently. I wouldn’t mind coming back. Simple and very casual setting.

Okay back to a four star rating! Haven’t been here for a while and this would be probably the second or third time this year… and well the food has always been good it was just the service that wasn’t consistent that why the last review I gave it three stars. However this time around it has improved again and I believe I have not seen these waiter before so new wait staff perhaps or just one new waiter. But anyhow had dinner here about a week ago and oddly ordered their mozzarella cheese sticks — I really don’t know if it’s any good cause but I saw it and actually wanted it so yeah — but turns out it was terrible — it was good though no marinara sauce and they also oddly placed some pickled vegetables on the plate and yeah that wasn’t good cause it was sour and some of the sticks touched it — which gave it a weird taste — but other than that it was not bad… gooey cheesy fried cheese sticks. I also had the HK style rice — which consist of spam, sausage, ham and two eggs — I really like this dish and from time to time I crave it — it’s very simple and it’s pretty good. Boyfriend had the Soy Sauce Chicken drumstick with rice and is also one of my other favorite dishes here — though one time the chicken was a little under-cooked but that only happened once and so not a biggie. The service this time was very nice — quick and friendly and the food came out at a good time.

Ughhhh… I wonder why my dad still loves eating at this place… It’s the only reason why I still go here. Probably after yesterday morning for hong kong breakfast… I hope my dad will finally come to his senses this time. Service hasn’t improved from the last time I went here. In my opinion, it got worse! It took forever for our food to come out. Our milk tea was placed at a area where the waitress could see, but no one came until we actually had to raise our voices to get their attention. One of my plates that came with the breakfast didn’t show up on the table. I asked if they forgot and what they told me was interesting. They gave it to the wrong table. Wowwwwwwwwww… I am done with you KT Café! You use to be awesome… but now it’s just plain sad!
