I have been coming to this bakery since early in 2015. We buy the buns, usually pineapple and or blueberry cream. There is also a lemon cake slice that is very good, so fresh and soft inside, crunchy on outside. And we almost always get a swiss roll cake from the refridgerated case. The people have always been nice enough, we are just buying baked items, not wanting a lifelong friend to come home and move in with us.

Very very extremely rude. Workers kept laughing and talking to each other while I was paying. I was asking where the napkins were and they just kept talking and ignoring me. I asked twice and she pointed where it was and continue talking.

Laziness brought me to Momo. I usually go to Kiki’s on the other side of the parking lot, but didn’t feel like crossing over. I know, it’s only about 100 yards, but I was in a lazy mood. Plus, I thought I should at least do a comparison since it’s the same products(bagged buns) that I usually buy. One plus is having ready-to-go milk teas waiting for you in a fridge. The buns are pretty good. Mostly the same kinds you find at most similar places. A few that I haven’t seen elsewhere(really liked the wheat buns sprinkled with sunflower seeds). Prices are the same, but they don’t offer the buy-3-for-a-discounted-price deal. I wish they had a bigger selection. Service-wise, it’s the same as across the way. Not too friendly employees. Hahaha. Location-wise, I wonder why they opened shop in the same small center with an established bakery already there. They must be doing okay because they’ve been open for a couple of years. It’s parking lot hell. I consider this to be one of the worst lots in Monterey Park. I’ll usually park on the side street on Lincoln and walk in. The way this lot is mapped out is very haphazard. I guess I wouldn’t mind coming back once in a while. Maybe.

This place has a good variety of bread. The prices are standard compared to the other bakeries around the area. Sometimes, they have a tray of breads with reduced prices. We got their mango cake which was pretty good. Moist and not too sweet. Parking can be a bit difficult if you come during rush hours.

A generic Chinese bakery serving the usual fare of sweets, breads, rolls, cakes. Relatively clean inside, but entire plaza is dirty. Just OK.

It’s an okay bakery. We bought rice pudding, Danish pastry, sausage and ham and cheese pastry, cheesecake, almond cream, and tuna pastry. They were all just okay. I’m not coming here again though. $ 10 credit card minimum.

This bakery place isn’t too bad. It’s pretty close to where I get a haircut in Monterey Park. I generally come here to pick up pastries for morning breakfast. I would recommend the buo luo bao(pineapple bun). The Almond cookies are a delight as well. I read that people complained about the service but I thought the folks there were nice. It’s probably the luck of the draw I guess…

FOOD: Blueberry cheesecake(I think $ 3.50): Good flavor, w/a nice swirl of a blueberry jelly. Not too sweet, but the cheese can be filling. It came in 3’s. SERVICE: Service wasn’t very good, as the cashier didn’t bother greeting me or even saying anything. I realize I came later in the day, but it’s your brand. You gotta have pride in what you do.

It’s a bakery with the usual goods. Red bean, dried pork, sweet any thing and everything. I just want to tell you all. it’s a good spot. No better or worse than 85 deg. No need to stand in line and the prices are good. It’s A OK and I would go again. Lot is a little crowded in this center sometimes, but you will eventually find a spot

I LOVETHISMOMOBAKERY! The cakes, puddings, bread and drinks are deliciously fluffy and flowery. The service is quick and good. I’ve tried the drinks at the Momo bakery on Valley and it can’t compare to this Momo. The drinks at the Momo on Valley are waaaaay too sweet. Here it’s just the right amount of flowery tea goodness. I always leave here with a bunch of tasty treats! I highly recommend the green tea cake, strawberry cake, mango cake, all the puddings, aiyu drink, and blue berry cheese bread. The blue berry cheese bread is probably the ugliest looking bread — it literally looks like a rock — there but it tastes amazing. The taro-mochi bread is also one that I frequently buy as gifts. The other breads don’t appeal to me as much. Tips: 1. Credit card only for orders over $ 10+ 2. Plenty of parking on the street or parking lot

Brought a cheesecake on Christmas morning for my family even though I am not a big fan of cheesecakes in general because they are usually pretty heavy. The place is in the ABC Café plaza and hidden from the street. I was pleasantly surprised how light this cheesecake was. I also tried its custard tart and it had the perfect sweetness and texture. I am definitely going back.

I’m ok with all the ho-hum reviews, because that only means MOREPASTRIES for me! =) This is tucked in the ABC plaza. It’s not pretty looking inside… kinda random set up, BUT … they have really good, plentiful and fresh bread. I don’t know when other Unilocalers have been coming in, but I came during noon on a weekend when everything was available. I grabbed several pineapple, sponge cake, ham and cheese, red beans buns. LOVED the light and fluffy texture of the pineapple and sponge buns. Gave the rest as food gifts to the family. =) Really happy with this cheap and yummy find!

Usually come here to see what kind of bread they have. The breads that are out on display are usually sitting out for a while. I don’t think I have ever seen fresh bread come out. My family comes here because the bread is relatively cheap compared to my preferred J.J. Bakery. Also if we purchase large amounts of bread or pastries we get a discount. Otherwise they’re usual promotion is buy $ 10 worth and get a free bread or pastry at $ 1.25 value. The quality is nothing to be excited about but at least it’s decent.

i tried their custard and taro bread for $ 1.25 each( ). Taro bread — they use real taro inside which is a good thing. the problem is the taro they put inside the bread isnt cooked at all, its was so hard to the extent that my teeth could fall off from trying to bite this big taro chunk. the taro itself doesnt taste good, its smelly and taste like rotten taro. absolutely disgusting! Custard bread — their custard is so floury and think. i think they use too much corn starch to make it that thick! and the proportion of the custard and the bread is not balance at all. they only put one tiny dot of custard inside the bread which is okay since i dont like their custard at all. but i wouldnt be surprised to find out that their other breads are also like this. regardless, i wouldnt want to spend any more $$ here. would rather go to kiki’s bakery within the same plaza!

I was gonna compliment this bakery then this incident happened: They have clearance sale: buy 2 get 1 free. I bought 3 steamed buns @ $ 1.25&3 cheese stick @$ 1.10. So I should get 1 free bun &1 free cheese stick, right? Wrong! These people were so sneaky, they charged me 3 buns &1 stick. I didn’t realized this until I got home, I called them, basically they defended their ‘CHEATYOURCUSTOMERS’ practice. I could just do 2 separate transactions if I knew how sneaky they were. Shame on them, for a few pennies(15 cents), they showed their true colors. Also don’t buy BBQ Pork bun on sale, last time I bought, the pork already had tangy taste. Update: The Steamed Bun is suck, the sign mentioned filled with mushroom & pork, I couldn’t find the mushroom, only some minuscule ground pork & alot of black fungus &…CABBAGE! Yuckie…

Located inside the ABC Plaza on Garfield/Garvey. Typical Asian bakery, but with less variety. Service is more unfriendly than normal. No smile, no hello, not even a muttered thank you. Would I be back? I think not…

This bakery is located in that plaza with ABC Café. It’s on the same side as ABC café, but just a little deeper inside. If they don’t have the bread you want, you can check out KiKi Bakery(just diagonal in the same plaza). Their buy 2 get 1 free is a smaller section in the corner. My grandma claims those breads must be expiring soon. Makes sense if that is true… I love buying sliced bread at Asian bakeries. Their whole wheat bread($ 2.15) was just ok. The crust was very hard to chew off, and just inconsistent with the center which was extremely soft. A few cents more expensive than my favorite Asian sliced bread, too. I think this was the worst Asian sliced bread I have purchased so far. I will not be purchasing it from them again. A lot of their signs are in Chinese, which is unfortunate. Most will have some English though.

Why are the reviews here so looooow :(They’re having a grand opening special right now(but it’s lasting for over a week) where some some select breads are buy 2 get 1 free while a whole bunch of other breads are 10%(or was it 20%…I forget) off making these buns SUPERCHEAP. The curry pork bread was in the buy 2 get 1 deal and it’s one of my faves. Also tried the hot dog bread but that was just mediocre. The taro pork sung bread is ginormous and is twice the size of the bread at Kiki’s but still cheaper o__o and the pork sung bread topped with the flaky pie crust thing(yeaaaaaaaah don’t know what they’re called .___.) is light and yummy. I’m sure they’re going to run into a lot of competition given that Kiki’s is in the same plaza but for the price and quality, I would say Momo’s is the choice for meeee! Just the standard Asian bakery but with the super low price :] But some of the signs are in Chinese with no english translation :(had to ask my mother to translate many times…

This is one of those traditional Asian bakeries. No fanciness or seating. Just come and go for breads. Prices are better than Kiki across the street because they are running a grand opening promo of buy 2, get 1 free on any breads. The taro and mochi one is good– it looks like a giant purple mushroom. They also have an unique one with a sweet paste from dates. It looks like red bean paste. The red bean bun is weird. They use super dense dinner roll bread, instead of the soft and fluffy kind.

Tucked away in a plaza, this is a hidden treasure. I came by today and was pleasantly surprised to see yet another bakery open in Monterey Park. Although this is another branch, I would consider the quality equivalent to that of Diamond Bakery/Kee Wah. I tried their raisin sliced bread and their red bean sliced bread; both were soft and fresh. It’s more expensive than usual loaf of bread you’ll find at say Ralphs/Albertsons, but $ 2.75 is a fair price for all the other Chinese bakeries here. The selection isn’t as great, but I’m sure they’ll add more in the future. There is also seating available. The ambiance needs a bit more work, but I’m sure it’s giving nearby Kiki bakery a run for its money! They were having a buy 2, get 1 free sale.
