Friendly staff and decent pizza for the price, but definitely not on Pieology’s level.

My kids wouldn’t even eat this, and they eat everything. Upsides: quick, generous toppings. There are high chairs. Downsides: flavorless, too many toppings for crust. Over floured crust. Weird ambiance. Not worth the $. Also no bathrooms near by.

Perfectly good lunch spot! I don’t understand some of the terrible reviews. This is an in-and-out easy to order pizza place. Pros– super fast, $ 9, tastey, quiet Cons– no ice, no option other than pizza, no real ambiance I would eat here again.

I really can’t understand the low reviews. The pizza itself is average. Better than the red-roofed mega-chain, but not gourmet quality. What makes this place great is the price, speed, and the customization. Personal pizza with up to 5 toppings for $ 9 in about 5 minutes. It’s located near the Monterey Aquarium on Cannery Row. There may be better places to grab pizza around here, but for the price and convenience, you can’t beat Cannery Pizza.

I needed a quick bite since I was too busy being a tourist and had a full agenda and opted for this place. Seemed odd at lunchtime that the place was empty but still… pizza. We were greeted quickly and the employee was super friendly. The place was extremely clean as well. Food — Good selection of drinks, simple pizza ordering of thin or regular crust, about 4 sauces, and a handful of ingredients. Prices were reasonable for the area. Service — Definitely top notch If you’re looking for a quick bite of pizza with a short wait, then this place is for you.

Came here on out visit to Cannery Row. $ 8.99 for a personal sized pizza with up to 5 toppings. It was pretty tasty, however nothing too spectacular. Dough could have been cooked a little longer. Nice place for a quick bite to eat without having to deal with a long wait in typical restaurant. Ingredients tasted fresh and pizza was okay tasting.

There are many terrific restaurants in the Cannery Row area, and there are several really good pizza places in the mix. Alas, Cannery Pizza is not one of them. Simply substandard in terms of quality of pizza and service. It is inexpensive and you get your pizza quickly(an individual pizza can be baked for you in 5−8min), but those are not really good indicators of quality, nor good reasons to take yourself or family to this restaurant.

Meh, is right. Cannery Pizza is conveniently located in the neighborhood of Cannery Row, a short walk from the entrance to the aquarium — meaning you could easily use it as your lunch retreat from a day of exploring. It’s menu and concept is one I love — individual pizzas that you get to choose your toppings, so a group could easily go and everyone get what they want. The thing is, it’s below average pizza. It’s not terrible, you could eat it, but it’s definitely not good. The crust is bland and lacks a great texture. The way the cheese melts is not great either — perhaps because they put all the pizzas through a five minute oven on the counter that seems to cook like an Easy Bake would. The service was okay, but nothing about the atmosphere and folks in there could make up for the mediocre food itself. Especially for $ 9.

Noelle’s Unilocal Notebook 2015 Post going to Monterey Bay Aquarium we spied Cannery Pizza. I’m not a fan of the food in the Monterey area but we needed to get a quick bite before heading back to Los Gatos. The décor is spartan but it’s exceptionally clean inside with quite a few tables and chairs should you wish to dine inside the pizza shop. — - — - — - — - — - — - — - guide to ordering — - — - — - — - — - — - — - 1. pick your pizza crust– thin or thick 2. pick a sauce 3. add toppings — you’re only allowed 5! — - — - — - — - — - experience — - — - — - — - — - We were greeted by the friendly employees behind the counter. I placed our order for one cheese pizza and one combo pizza. I inquire about their pesto sauce which they told me was nut free(I have tree but allergies). The ladies behind the counter said the reasoning behind he 5 topping limit was to ensure the pizzas would cook correctly and adding more toppings would make for a soggy pizza crust. I did notice the thick crust pizza looked frozen so I opted for the thin crust alternative because the dough looked freshly made. Both pizzas tasted good. I noticed other reviewers mentioned the sauce was overly sweet, well the sauce wasn’t sweet at all(I’m supposing they’ve corrected that mistake). One person handles the sauce, meat toppings and cheese and the other person handles the veggie toppings which is good because you don’t want someone dipping into all the ingredients :) Of course I would have loved to dine at Little Napoli but post going to the aquarium, wanting to feed our toddler who is two and getting home this proved to be a quick and delicious option. Upon leaving I noticed flies coming into the shop, they should probably invest in an air curtain or keep the front door closed. If you’re looking for a quick pizza, healthy alternative to fast food this is a great place to come with family and friends. Due to the fact its in a high touristy area, I wouldn’t go out of my way here unless we visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Seeing that we’re members at the MBA, this will definitely be on our list of places to eat at when on Cannery Row. Noelle’s Notes Good pizza Good customer service Great price points

You guys are smart, so I’ll lay it all out really simple like: dis is de worst pizza I’ve ever tasted in my life. There must be a God since I’m still alive from the sweet sauce. At least it was cheap. It’d probably be healthier to eat at the Nestlé tollhouse next store. There was also a myriad of flies inside which was quite disgusting. The only reason I didn’t give it 1 star is because the lady was fairly nice. But now that I think about it, she did disappear into the back for a while, delaying my uneaten pizza’s protection from flies.

Overall Impression: Delicious customized personalized pizzas at a reasonable price. Cost: Reasonable. About 9 for your own custom pizza. Relative to the other expensive restaurants found on Cannery Row, this is a real bargain. Taste: Adequate if you choose the correct toppings that compliment each other. I would say that the dough to toppings ratio is a little high, but other than that it is a good piece of pie. Customer Service: Friendly people behind the counter who are patient while you choose your toppings. Ambience/Atmosphere: Nothing too fancy, and considering the great views of the ocean outside, I would advise to not dine in.

Fantabulous! The best restaurant in this area. Wish I had one near my location so I could have all the custom pizza I could have.

Ok pizza, terrible service. Took over 5 min for the three employees to realize they had a customer. I got there at noon on a Saturday and there was only one other customer in the half hour I was there. Sometimes people would come in, but with no one in the front they would eventually leave. The biggest issue this place has is lazy employees. I feel sad for the business owner.

2.5−3STAR. Went to Cannery Pizza for the second time last Sunday after we visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We had been here once before about 6 months ago. My wife is a huge fan of this build-your-own-pizza place(she loves places like this), but I thought it was just pretty average and I’ll explain why below. Anyway, this past Sunday, we got a couple pizzas to share with 4 total people. We choose the option where you can add your own toppings(up to 5 total toppings) for $ 8.99 per pizza. You get to choose thin crust or regular crust, and we went with regular crust. On one of the pizzas, we did pesto sauce with sausage, pepperoni, bacon, mushrooms and artichoke hearts and it was pretty good! Check out the picture that I attached to this review. I am normally not a fan of pesto in a pizza unless it has chicken, but this one wasn’t bad. We actually liked it much better than the other pizza we made, which I will outline next. The other pizza we got was tomato-sauce based and we got pepperoni, sausage, onions, mushrooms, and green peppers. This one was just ok. Tasted a little bit bland, and the dough itself wasn’t all that great. Ended up being a little chewy. I am not saying that the pizzas were horrible, but they definitely weren’t the best that I’ve had. If you’re looking for a quick custom pizza joint before or after visiting the Aquarium, then check out Cannery Pizza but keep your expectations in check. There are a bunch of other seafood restaurants peppered all up and down Cannery Row, so there are tons of options. Then again, they are all tourist traps because of their proximity to the world famous Monterey Bay Aquarium. With that being said… you have been warned! :P Still a decent pizza joint, but if you’ve been to Pieology(locations in San Jose, Southern Cali, etc.), those places still fall higher on my rankings.

Decent pizza. It’s fast, quick, and pretty inexpensive — $ 5.99 and $ 8.99 options. Let’s of options in terms of sauces and toppings. I’d recommend going thin crust. I think you get a little more bang for your buck. It’s perfect for grabbing a quick snack or dinner when after spending a few hours in the aquarium. It’s literally across the street from the place.

My boyfriend and I are aquarium members, so we visit this area several times a year. I have seen this restaurant before, but haven’t been hungry so I walk on by. About two months ago(Memorial Day weekend actually), I was finally hungry and needed something quick(I’m not a fast food chain person). Perfect location relative to the aquarium. The biggest decision was choosing the crust as I love both thin and thick. I went with thin, regular tomato pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni and basil. To drink, bottle coke. I love how fresh and clean everything was. This place is fairly priced and I didn’t get sick from it. I’ve had better pizzas in my life, but I would definitely eat here again. I am going to try the thick crust next time. 4 Stars because: Love the simple menu, but there needs to be a bit more variety. I love a salad with my pizza. They need a better line system. It was really crowded and people didn’t know who eat next to order. Clean, quick, fair price.

Cannery Pizza Company: it’s fast and not delicious! That’s right, NOT. The sauce is WAY too sweet. It really is like grocery box quality pizza that you throw into your toaster oven, only you get surly customer service with it. We had a coupon that we handed to her after she ran our credit card and she refused to take it. Ok, we may have been slow to the draw, distracted by the 7 people who got up from the their dinner and walked to the back of the restaurant(they must be owners who ate the last of the thin crust because when we got there, there was only regular available). Anyway, the hoard of people making a great exodus to the back distracted us to the point that we forgot to give her our 10% coupon. Back to the pizza. It’s just ok. Not phenomenal. Not gourmet. Bit bland. But hey, it was fast!
