worst fish and chips i ever had in my life. absolute worst. couldnt tell if the fish had gone bad or the oil was rancid. french fries were lackluster. maybe theyd do better cutting them skinnier. after seeing i couldnt eat the fish the server should have offered something else. oh, and the draft was a half pint, for which we paid 6.50. avoid this place.

They advertised«the best fish and chips in town» and they were right! Good portion of perfectly fried, flaky fish served with thick steak fries! We also tried the Cooper burger-½ lb patty perfectly seasoned! Food was fresh and fast. Great service! Cool atmosphere! Loved it!

Terrible atmosphere, the waitress forgot that we even ordered, and they serve their artichokes cold with mayonnaise. Bleh. The curry fries were decent but soggy.

I understand it’s a Pub and the San Jose Shark Game was on and it was a bit loud. But the food service has a lot of opportunities to work on. About an hour wait for food and the waitress only checked on us once all the food came out. Never got a glance from the waitress or refilled on our drinks(water tasted funny). Probably the last time I’ll visit this place. Spend your money somewhere else.

Really wanted to fall in love with the food but it lacked flavor. It was sort of there but nothing that melts in your mouth. The appearance of the food looks much better than it tastes. Great atmosphere. Flavor of the food needs to be stepped up a bit.

I’m sometimes hesitant to dine on Cannery Row since it’s fairly tourist which can lead to wait times and mixed service. Ducked into here with a buddy to grab dinner and glad we did. We got a table quick, service was friendly and helpful, and we had our drinks and food in less than 20 minutes. The fish and chips were excellent and we tried the Irish mule — which was pretty tasty. Would definitely try this place again.

First and foremost, fuck this hell hole tourist trap. Their tables are sticky and their food is overpriced and disgusting. Their«world renowned» artichoke was a complete tasteless joke and their popcorn shrimp were full of shrimp poop. I should have listened to my girlfriend when she observed that the place was empty, but I wanted to try it out anyway. In short, I’m writing this review as a warning. If you find yourself on Cannery Row anytime soon, avoid this shit hole at all costs!

Good beers from English Ale Brewery, fried cod sandwich was felicious, crab cakes pretty good. Great escape from the noisy cannery row for a couple beers. Sit outside!

Not a great place for lunch. The service staff was very friendly. Started with a flat beer and sour $ 9 glass of wine. $ 6CUP of mediocre chowder and a $ 13 philly cheese steak with no cheese and enough salt to kill a small child or elderly person. Cute atmosphere, nice staff but too much money for really iffy food and drinks. Skip it.

Four star with a Thanks Giving Bonus. :) If you would like to have a beer with some food in moderate pricing, this could be an option at Cannery Row. 2 friends and I stopped by this pub after the long drive along the pacific coast highway from LA on Thanks Giving Day. We are hungry and tired. It was hard to resist entering here once we parked in front of the place on Cannery Row. We were sucked into the entrance. Although it was Thanks Giving Day, there were fair number of people. It was warm in the restaurant, and Football game was going on TV. The box seats were accommodating. That’s what we were craving for. We ordered beer as a waitress seated us, and the glasses with beer were served relatively in short time. We regained our energy and felt good. After giving a sigh of relief, we realized this restaurant is large that a herd from a tourist bus could dine here comfortably. Our group had Cottage Pie, Steak & Mushroom Pie and Fish & Chips along with beer. Kind of typical order for a British style pub. The dishes were so far so good. I thought it is at least better to eat at this British restaurant than eating at Louie Linguini’s while reading Louie’s garrulous joke story.

had dinner here the other night. rolled up(much like the sidewalks in Cannery Row) at 8pm on a Sunday of a Holiday weekend… there wasnt much open and with 3 kids. this was our choice. They advertised the fish n chips as the best in town… seconded(and actually thirded) by the waiter as two of usordered it… yeah. not so much! I typically would NOT order this in a tourist area, but i wasnt really feeling any of the other pub grub, so went with what i thought would be ok. The steakfries. a little freezer burnt and quite starchy. the fish.one long slap that on the ends was just chewy batter. One of the kids oreded chicken tenders. it was some random chicken patty cut into pieces. certainly not tender. The BLT salad was enjoyed by a member of our party, but everyone else was just eating what they could because we hadnt had lunch and were hungry. Giving it two stars for the service. Our waiter was certainly friendly enough. even if his ringing endorsement of the fish and chips wasnt correct.

Cooper’s Pub is located on Cannery Row amongst all of the souvenirs store. The pub atmosphere is definitely decorated in the Monterey fisherman’s décor interior and décor. On Saturday nights they feature live music from the local musical artist. I wasn’t that hungry so I split the deep fried cod appetizers with my partner in crime. The cod had a crunchy exterior and they had it down on the time in the deep fryer. I also ordered the salad with shrimp with the clam chowder. On the menu they said the salad was light on the mayonaise, thank goodness. The clam chowder was kinda bland, what happened to the clams. Anyways Cooper’s Pub was inexpensive and the service was fairly good.

When it smells like fish… get fish and chips. Anyways, we wanted fish and chips and we wanted a bar and we wanted somewhere kid friendly for lunch. Id been here a long time ago and they have a nice back area that is outdoors. You used to be able to smoke out there but not no more. We sat outside this time with the two little’s. A perfect place for families. It doesn’t matter if fries go flying so much as inside. There were pigeons to pick them up for you. My husband and I both ordered the Fish and Chips. My son got the Popcorn Shrimp off the apps menu. There was no kids menu or custom cocktail menu. We all know that the two should go hand in hand. As to drinks, we both got a Cosmo, seemed safe. Mine is always ordered with extra lime. I order them that way because sometimes, depending on the bar tender, a Cosmo can be too sweet and orangey. I have to say that the cocktails were terrible. Some of the worst we’ve had. No mountain of limes could save this horrendous cocktail. I barely drank mine then my husband ordered a Lemon Drop and it tasted exactly like the Cosmo. Which I don’t even know in what alternate universe something like that could be possible. I will say that even though the cocktails were the worst on planet earth, the Fish and Chips were fantastic! I have to weigh the good with the bad here. The food more than made up for the bad drinks. They were perfectly cooked and the fries for everyone were the golden crispiness that you wake up dreaming of. If you’re in the market for Fish and Chips, come here. Do not come here for a drink. Go buy a bottle of the cheapest vodka from the gas station around the corner and swig from a bag after lunch. You’ll be happier.

Ate here for a late dinner. Wait staff was friendly but non-intrusive. Hubby enjoyed that he could order sample sizes of different beers. He enjoyed the fish and chips, but said it wasn’t anything amazing. I enjoyed my grilled cheese and salad. Prices are definitely more than reasonable for expensive Cannery Row! We were going to sit out on their patio to enjoy the live music but the band was awful and incredibly loud.

«Downtown Cannery Row for quick sandwich and draft beer» We had a draft beer and split a BLT sandwich for our lunch. Service was quick. Beer was cold. I thought the sandwich a little lacking by my wife thought her half was just right, so split the difference and say it was ok. Décor was all nautical fitting perfect into the ocean front scene.

We had dinner here on our first night in Monterey. It was a tad chilly but we wanted to sit the patio. And glad we did because they had a lovely fire going in the fire pit. We ordered a burger to split as we’d had a late lunch that day. It was served as ordered, medium well, with a nice helping of fries. Very tasty overall. The server was nice but took a little long to come back around with the bill. It was overall a pleasant experience.

Overall: The food was good, and the service was super friendly and attentive. We came in here from out of town and we were starving but didn’t want to spend that much money. We didn’t need anything too fancy, so we took a chance on this place not knowing too much about it. We were pleasantly surprised by the good food and the friendly service. I got the chicken sandwich and it was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. Our server was super nice and was accommodating to our substitutions. If you’re looking for the best pub grub on Cannery Row, look no further.

Neat little pub on Cannery Row /Monterey. Waiter tried to hit on me while I was sitting there by myself and as I ordered a bottle of Merlot, he thought I was drinking by myself lol anyways weird story that I’m not gonna get into but this place has a neat little back yard where they have live bands playing during the evening which makes it a nice place to end a romantic date or whatever occasions you may have. The problem with the live band that night was it took them a while to get set up so we had to wait for a bit but once they started playing, everyone got up and danced & it was really exciting. The Merlot itself wasn’t that great but we managed to finish it anyways, danced a little, & just enjoyed the rest of the evening listening to live jazz.
