We definitely weren’t excited to use Hospice, but can’t think of a nicer bunch of people. We had several companies to choose from, but at the advice from others, decided on Hospice of the Central Coast. My Mom was unfortunately sent home from the hospital, under the care of hospice one afternoon. We knew time was of the essence and Hospice of the Central Coast did everything possible to get the ball rolling — very quickly. Before she was released from the hospital all of the necessary equipment had been delivered and in place for her arrival(bed, oxygen, etc.). Just hours after she arrived at home a nurse was at our home to explain the A to Z’s of making her(and us) comfortable with what was to take place in the next few days. All of her medications arrived in a timely manner and everyone we dealt with made sure it was okay to ask them anything at anytime. A few days after being home, my mother passed. Hospice was there for us, helping us cope and deal with the sorrow. They also took care of all the medications(and it was a lot!), so that we didn’t have to worry about disposing them. They retrieved all the equipment the day after also, which was a relief. There isn’t enough praise I can give this group of people. They genuinely cared about our family and the fact that we just lost our beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother, etc. I would recommend Hospice of the Central Coast — hands down, to anyone!
