St. John’s Chapel

This is a review for their thrift store/​benefit shop that operates on Tuesdays and Saturdays, 11 to 3.
Their prices are great for ladies’ suits! Saw lots of vintage Vera scarves, hand knitted items, and housewares, which are *miraculously* displayed in two small rooms without looking cluttered. I bought two classic Steinbeck books, a sweet Mary Engelbreit edition, five cooking magazines, some cookie tins, vintage gloves (that fit!!), a sexy 1930’s style cocktail dress, and a silk scarf listing the cities in France. I thought when she told me $ 9.50 for it all, it must be a mistake.
The volunteers working the shop are my new BFF’s. If you’re staying at the Hyatt Regency Monterey, you have no excuse not to visit this thrift, or attend church services there… Because the hotel’s road that takes you by the work out gym basically also takes you to St. John’s back door!
