Husband and I loved this place for breakfast! I liked how you could customize an order and the croissant was perfect for eggs, cheese, bacon, and avocado. My husband had a bagel sandwich and it was soft and delicious. Good breakfast if you are going Whale Watching or bike riding along the shoreline. Only regret was I didn’t try the boba drinks, will try next time we visit Monterey!

The BESTSTRAWBERRYCREAMCHEESEEVER. The parents of one of my moms students give her bagels and I was visiting her. The bagels were delicious! The cream cheese was better than the New York bagel spreads I’ve had in New York.

Never going here again! I used to come here with my coworkers all the time and I am very disappointed in the service I received this morning. The cashier charged me twice for my order and my debit card was drafted twice for the order. I even showed her that happened on my cel phone bank app and she proceeded to tel me that it wasn’t her fault and that I needed to call my bank. If I didn’t have to be at work I would have done just that and made a huge scene in the middle of the restaurant. Never again!

This place has an amazing selection of bagels and sandwich choices. I wasn’t expecting so much for such a small price. After an over expensive weekend in Monterey this place was a breath of fresh air!!! I had a bagel sandwich my own way with lox for $ 5. And there is seating, and it’s quiet. And the people who work there are nice an quick ;) super great find. This was after going to 4 places and no where to sit. At 11:00 — 12:30 pm for brunch. #thankful

As far as I can see, they sometimes are passing off day old bagels as fresh. Normally we go to the place in Seaside(by Target) and the bagels are always soft and tasty. The other day we stopped by and ordered some this location and clearly the bagel we received was day old. Definitely skip this location and try the others in town if you are seeking fresh /good quality.

The bagels are OK, but the service was lacking. We came in around 11am and there was a little rush… The staff was totally overwhelmed. I think every customer had something in their order that was wrong. The issue I had was when we got cashed out they remembered to charge us for the cream cheese they didn’t give us. Like I said earlier, the food was decent, but the service was a big turn off…

The bagels here are mediocre. I guess living on the East coast has spoiled me and resulted in high expectations. The one I ordered didn’t taste fresh. I had the plain cream cheese which was scooped from a giant tub of Philadelphia. I found this disappointing, as I was hoping for homemade considering they specialize in all things bagels. I could have made the equivalent(or better) at home. I will give a shout out to the staff. Very friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Wanted to try the chicken parm sandwich, but unfortunately they weren’t serving that that day. But what hooked me into the shop was the assortment of bubble tea! The aroma of fresh-baked items was an added incentive to stop by for lunch. Ordered the bagel dog, an interesting take on a hotdog with cheese. Delicious even without added condiments. Obviously could not leave without some boba! Ordered the Thai iced tea bubble, and it was scrumdiliumptious! Will stop by in the future to try new flavors! May get busy during lunch hours.

Bagels tastes like they used day old bagel. Hard and cold… Too much picture menu reminds me of Cheap Chinese restaurant. Horrible boba. How are they still in business? Do no waste your money!

This review is for the Boba only. I had the Thai Ice Tea Boba. The flavor of the drink itself was okay but the actual boba was horrible. The consistency was all wrong. It’s supposed to be chewy and fresh. These tasted like they were old and just thrown into the drink. The boba kind of fell apart as soon as I began to chew. I’ve had A LOT of boba in my life and this was definitely sub-par. Perhaps there is not enough of a demand in Monterey to sustain a good boba business.

This place is delicious, many varieties of bagels. However it is pretty pricey. The boba is great too.

Kind of disappointing. The service was pretty fast, and the prices are fair. Nice variety on the menu. Being right on Alvarado St. it’s a good people watching spot. But if I’m gonna pay for a sandwich, I want it to be something at least as good as, or better than, what I’m going to throw together at home. The tuna salad was limited in quantity, and too sweet. The apple chunks in it are a good idea, but it needs something spicy or tangy to balance it out. All I got was sweet, as if it had sugar or Miracle Whip in it. The bagel was okay but would have been much better toasted.(Apparently you have to ask to get it toasted. I would think toasting the dang thing would be the default. Otherwise it’s not much different from eating raw dough.) Filling, but not very satisfying. The kettle chips were okay, but I wouldn’t recommend the honey-Dijon variety – too much honey, not enough mustard. Reading other reviews, I now know why they asked which chips I wanted with my combo. Apparently they charge extra for certain chips but not others. Tacky and misleading/disingenuous. Not going to go rushing back to this place.

I was so distraught over my terrible experience here that it’s taken me months to finally finish this review… Ok. I’m a bagel fanatic, but not a bagel snob. With that said, I only demand one thing from my bagels: that they taste good. Apparently that’s too much to ask for here. What’s the opposite of freshest? because that’s what my bagel was. The bread wasn’t soft, it was chewy… and somewhat challenging to bite into and the ingredients did not taste spectacular either. I also noticed they microwave their eggs. Really? If I wanted my egg microwaved, I would’ve just done it at home, which I would never even do. To call their bagels average is a severe understatement. In fact, to call what I ate, a bagel, is an insult to bagels everywhere. Disappointment doesn’t even begin to cover it. I noticed that they also serve boba drinks so I thought I’d give those a try too. Granted, they’re not a boba place so I did approach with some leniency. I ordered a taro smoothie boba drink and I kid you not, the consistency was that of saliva. I wonder if that’s what was meant by «smoothie?» Yes, it was as disconcerting to swallow as it sounds. Maybe if my bagel was decent, I’d give them a break about my surprisingly slimy drink. I’ve also come to learn that good boba cannot be had in Monterey, the closest you can get to «good» is at Chopstix. I go there whenever I need a boba fix and I definitely recommend checking them out. Sure, they have a friendly staff, but that doesn’t make up for the quality of their food. Sorry. I will not be back. They get one star for good customer service and somewhat of an effort at serving food.
