By far the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had, mainly because we didn’t actually get to stay in the hotel. My wife and I were heading back to Albany, GA, after a Christmas trip to Dallas in 2010. No one wants to spend 18 hours on the road, so we decided to book a room for one night here. After a long drive, we arrived in Montgomery around 11 p.m. or so and found the hotel. For starters, this is place is located in a reallyyyy shady part of town, so I’m almost glad things didn’t work out. Second, the office apparently closes at 10 p.m., as a crudely scribbled note on the window suggested, with no number to call or anything. We tried our best to contact the travel agency or hotel or somebody, to no avail. I’ve arrived this late or later many times and there’s no excuse for them not to be open. So! We ended up driving the last three hours to Albany in pitch black, tired as heck. I followed up and received a refund from the travel agency, but wasn’t even contacted by the hotel. Thus, they receive my first one-star Unilocal review for a hotel.
