Excellent brisket and sausage. Had Mac and cheese and spicy pintos for my 2 sides. Both excellent. For the first time in many years I had banana pudding and it was worthy of the praise I had heard before I came here. Service great. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Meat was very good, sides were questionable. Velvetta shells and cheese, cold beans, and warm cole slaw.

Best ribs ever. Love the small town atmosphere. Cannot go wrong eating here if you want some good bbq.

Eaten here twice and it’s delicious! Their shells and cheese and coleslaw are delicious! Make sure to ask for LEAN brisket, we didn’t the first time and there was a lot of fat. Great place!

One of my favorite places to eat BBQ. Friendly staff and usually quiet atmosphere. The ribs are outstanding every time I go. The beef brisket is good and tender. The side are awesome except the Jimmy’s creation which is definitely a acquired taste to say the least. Everything else has been great. I recommend everything they have except the chicken since I have not had it as of yet. Kick ash is my go to for great BBQ.

Best ribs I have ever eaten !! And the blackberry cobbler is awesome! We’ve been here a few times and there is never a large crowd. The servers are pleasant and prompt.

We ordered ribs, brisket, pork, chicken and a stuffed meat potato. The ribs and pork were very good. The brisket was slightly below average. I asked for turkey with the meat potato and received chopped brisket. I would have liked to try the turkey, but the chopped brisket was good. Unfortunately, the chicken was dry and burned. We didn’t eat any of it, so I was very disappointed. The potatoe salad was very good. You could definitely tell it was homemade.

We’ve had BBQ all over Texas and this place is legit. Sides, meats, and even their sauce is delicious. Good sized portions, well priced, and quick service. Definitely hit the BBQ spot!

Moved to Texas 18 months ago and have never had great BBQ until lunch today. It was awesome! We Ordered Ribs, Brisket, and pulled Pork. Sides were Mac and cheese and cole slaw. Everything was so good. Our server Haley was a superstar too!

We’ve eaten here several times. The food is always good, although most of the time they are out of something. Today they were out of sliced brisket and potato salad.

Fantastic ribs and brisket… melt in your mouth, fall off the bone, richly flavorful. This meat tastes like meat should taste, mellow and umami. The green beans were a great side, cooked with bacon and drenched in butter. The jumbo meat stuffed baked potato is the Friday special and it’s huge and DIY… meat on the side, with a salad bar stacked with sour cream, butter, and cheese to dress your own tater. It’s wrapped in foil and the skin is scrumptious. Today’s cobbler was apple, served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream — tragically not Blue Bell since the recall — and it was delectable. Rich caramel spice sauce, perfect slices of tart apple, tender crust… perfect. Iced tea was great too… strong and well-​brewed.

One of the best briskets I’ve ever had. The ribs are delicious, fall off the bone, the turkey is moist and flavorful. The pulled pork is delicious also. The only time I was not happy with the quality, we had gotten to the restaraunt near closing time and the brisket was very fatty, which I cannot stand! But like I said, I think we just got the undesirable part at the end of the day.

Good brisket and pulled pork. It was not the best BBQ I have had but I wasn’t disappointed. Atmosphere is nice and the employees are friendly. They do takeout also. Price was very good. Portions were fair to generous.

I have to give a 3 because I can’t give 3 ½ which is what I think it deserves for my trip.
Atmosphere is decent and clean which is always nice. We were greeted and acknowledged immediately. Upon getting our drink orders we were told they were out of regular pinto beans and Potato Salad. Slightly irritating since it was only 12:15. If you make the potato salad in house, it better be a great excuse as to why there isn’t any, same goes with the beans. If someone messed up a delivery I can understand better.
I had ribs, they were cooked pretty well. I don’t like my ribs falling apart and these did not. A bite pulled away from the bone and didn’t take the whole rib meat with it. They were too salty though.
My wife had chopped brisket sandwich, it was waaaay too salty and she likes salty food usually. The smoke flavor was great and the portion was nice also.
Spicy pinto beans were very good, best thing in the meals.
Coleslaw was average I would say. Nothing special.

Visited for lunch with a few friends. Service was great, food was good, and price was reasonable. I had the jumbo chopped beef baked potato. Whoa! Bring an appetite cause its BIG. Really liked how they bring you the spud naked with the meat on the side so you can fix it just the way you want.

The ribs are to die for. Best I’ve ever had. Brisket, spicy pinto beans and spicy pinto beans are also awesome. We stopped by there during our 10yr anniv weekend stay at Bernhardt Winery. On our first visit, owner came out and greeted us. Gave us comp banana pudding (wow…it’s delicious). We enjoyed it so much had it to go also. He gave us ribs to take with us at no charge and boom!!! We came back for them again the day we left. 2 meals at same place in 2 days speaks for itself! Great job kick ash!!!

*** important to note, they are open I believe Friday-​Sunday only. On Sunday the hours are abbreviated and they close at 3pm. So just go by on the weekend and you are good.
