Very good food and amazing service. Owner usually is there to greet you. My guest order was wrong and Mr. G came over and personally apologized and had them correct it asap. Seating is small though.

This place was highly recommended by a local so we thought we’d give it a try. We asked the waiter what he recommended but he was really no help. I changed my mind and went with something I’ve never had anywhere before but he brought me my initial choice the lasagna. I didn’t fuss and just ate it. It was ok, I’ve had better at a chain restaurant. My colleague ordered a light pasta with chicken but the chicken was frozen and squishy. She complained to the waiter, after having eaten most of the pasta leaving the chicken but all he said was that’s why I don’t like that dish. What? Then he asked her if she wanted a lasagna… When we asked if she would have to pay for both meals he said yes of course… WHAT? I said«nooooo»… He said he would have to tell the manager that she didn’t like her dish to have the squishy chicken taken off her bill. I said, «that’s what she just told you.» He told the manager, who agreed to remove it from her bill, but still charged her for the lasagna which should have been to compensate for the bad meal. What a mess. Long story short… Bad experience, bad service, won’t be going back.

Great gyro’s and service. The place is packed — definitely coming back to try the pizza. By the way, this is the only Greek/Italian place in town.

Yes, the Greek salad that comes with your entrée will be shredded iceberg. Yes, the rolls are clearly from the freezer section. Yes, the most exotic thing on the wine list is Chianti. If you’re ok with that and can love Mr. G’s for what it is, a classic red sauce joint, this is a perfectly fine choice for an Italian meal. The service is adequate and the owner will come by and check on you at least three times. The portions are gigantic, and while everything would be improved by the addition of fresh pasta, let’s not get ahead of ourselves here — this is a strip mall in Montgomery. We didn’t try the Greek options this time, but it’s nice to know homemade spanakopita is there when we need it. For those nights when chicken parm covered in mozzarella and marinara is the only thing that will do, Mr. G’s is a welcome local alternative to cookie-cutter Italian.

Stuck with basic gyro platter(gyro and fries). Nothing fancy but good and plenty of food. About $ 10 with water. Service was good and the owner made an appearance to make sure everything was ok.

The whole fam enjoyed a evening here in celebration of the last basketball game. The boy and girl had the rolls and said they crispy, light and tasty. The man and I had the tzatziki and loved the garlic! We both had salads — they missed the mark on that one: Shredded lettuce, quarter tomato, one olive and feta — fail. Entrée: the girl had the pizza with tomato and chicken — kid’s meal — she said, «kid’s have taste buds, not good here.» The boy had a medium pizza with sausage — he said it was like spaghetti and meatballs without the noodles. Really good. The girl tried his pizza and said — much better they should have done that for the kids one. The man had the Moussaka — excellent, definitely a repurchase. I had the Greek pasta salad — I asked that they add red onions — they did not have any… they said they had white, I agreed for those… Did not see or taste them in the food. It was good — but the onions would have kicked it up a notch. Dessert: YUM! Chocolate ice cream, Fried apple pie a la mode, baklava, and tiramisu. All good — no one wanted to share their own. The service was really good — the owner came by several times to chat. The waiter was ready with refills on time. Give them a try — nice place — we will be back!

So much potential, but just missed the mark. Mrs. Schumer’s frozen rolls with garlic salt. Bad shortcut. Greek salad was shredded bagged iceberg. Use a romain mix. Coke machine was having issues and they still wanted me to try it? Lasagne was actually pretty good. Service was also good. Had the same experience the last time I came. Greekish food. Need some menu tweaks.

Food and service are consistently good. Pizzas are very good although when they arrived at our table, they were warm and not as hot as I would have expected. Nonetheless, the ingredients were fresh, and the flavor was good. Prices are reasonable; comfortable family atmosphere with a very friendly owner who visits every table.

Came in for breakfast. Excellent! My dad and I both got omelettes. He, the ham and cheese, and I, Mr Gus’ special. Our sides were hash browns and biscuits; we would’ve preferred crispier hash browns. The biscuits were tasty and my dad said his cinnamon roll was great!

Ok I don’t know what’s with the«this is authentic» reviews. This is not authentic Greek food. We ordered the spanikopita and in the first bite I could tell it was canned or frozen spinach. It was bad. I ordered the gyro which was ok but not great. My wife got the Greek pasta and all you could taste was the banana peppers. Iv eaten Greek all over the country and home cooked by Greeks and this was terrible. Maybe its more geared towards Italian but we won’t be returning.

went for greek food, relocated to montgomery from ny so I was skeptical… the greek salad was okay, no amazing greek olives and just a sprinkle of feta cheese… but the gyro was delish and the tzatziki was great! I would go back for the gyro and tzatziki alone– plus a few beers :) also a side note not on the greek food, my husband ordered a calzone. it was massive and delicious too!

A nice little restaurant with an EXTREMELY pleasant wait staff. I was impressed with the number of waiters, hostesses and managers that asked how we were doing on their way by. And when my drink needed topped off, it was a waiter passing by that filled it up. The food: My chicken parmigiana was decent, just OK; there was WAY too much cheese, and I like a lot of cheese on my chicken parmigiana. My wife’s baked spaghetti with meatballs was«meh»; something funky about the meatballs and sauce. And the garlic bread I’m pretty sure is store bought. Maybe their Greek fare is better than the Italian? I haven’t tried the pizza, but the one the couple next to use was eating looked and smelled like it was worth a try, so we’ll do that sometime for sure.

Trending down. Visited with family for the first time in a while a few days ago. Pizza is still good and a good value. Don’t expect much«Bah, Bah» out of the gyro. A split side order of bacon at Waffle House has more meat. A la carte salads are overpriced. The wine list is uninspiring. I still have a good impression of the staffing and ownership, but is that appreciation or pity? I used to love this place and would love to see it make a comeback.

Every time I visit my family, my nieces insist on us eating here. No complaints because the food is good. The dolmathes and baklava are actually quite delicious and are some of the best I’ve had. Everything else on the menu is okay, but nothing to write home about(I say as I write a review of it). Their beer and wine selection is not as good as one would hope to find in a place specializing in Mediterranean food. I’ll keep coming here with the family because the food is pretty good, but would I recommend it to someone else? It wouldn’t be the first recommendation, but not the last either.

we enjoyed our meals. No complaints or compliments. The grape leaves were good. The Italian food tho, not so Italian. I agree with Melissa’s basic Greek/Italian assessment of the place. But the food wasn’t bad, the price not bad either.

This place confuses me. I’ve never heard of a Italian restaurant to serve Greek food, nor a Greek restaurant to serve Italian food. True Italians and Greeks would just not let that happen. Despite the confusion, we ordered both types of cuisines anyways. The Mediterranean sampler was so-so. The hummus was a bit gritty and did not have enough olive oil, garlic, or tahini. The minestrone soup was watered down and bland, and a bit over priced for what you get. Amongst the three dishes I tasted, the baked cheese manicotti was the best order choice of the night. But then again you can’t really go wrong with anything stuffed with ricotta cheese. The service was good, our waitress was sweet and quick. It was quite busy for dinner too.
