I’ve been to The Tipping Point a half dozen times, mostly to watch US Soccer matches. The atmosphere is always great. It’s no wonder why a ton of US Soccer supporters gathered there whenever there is a game on. The beer selection is huge! Dozens and dozens of beers available in cans and bottles, and several craft brews on tap. The food is labeled as «bar food» and includes gourmet hotdogs, sandwiches and appetizers. Although it may seem mundane, the food is actually quite delicious, and is crafted with a unique flare that keeps me coming back. The bar tenders and employees are very friendly and helpful, and are always game to suggest a new brew to try. It’s got a big open yard surrounded by a fence, which seems to be ideal for parents of young kids, as the children can play in a safe environment, while the parents relax and enjoy a meal. This is one of the most unique and enjoyable bars in Montgomery. If you’re looking for an unpretentious hangout spot, check out The Tipping Point!

I would go back to Montgomery just to eat here again! Mostly for the pimento cheese and the atmosphere. The cookie skillet is great too. Little bit and I had a fun time. The backyard time outdoor eating was good for having fun and making friends. The kids love sliding down the hill and the adults get to eat delicious food and sip some tasty drinks while chatting.

Absolutely terrible service. Dirty bathrooms, uniformed staff. As we walked in we greeted told to sit anywhere, when we sat down we were asked to move. Every beer my husband ordered they were out of but went on to recall how much other people enjoyed it when it was in stock. Wine was undrinkable so I asked for a different glass, they charged me for it saying they could not resell the wine. Waste of money and time.

Decent beer selection. They keep their seasonal taps rotated often. Great place to wind down a week.

Very relaxed, fun environment. Modern, minimalist décor. A great place for a casual date night. Enormous craft beer selection. Coney dog really good and big. Service is very friendly and attentive.

Cannot speak more highly of this place. Great pub food. They guys behind the bar are pure beer aficionados. Best selection of beer anywhere in town.

Of the very few places to go out in Montgomery, this is at the top of my list for my style of outings. I favor the beer menu and the dog-friendly outdoor patio section wins my approval.

This place is awful. It feels like something out of the Stepford Wives meets the Pampered Chef. Menu is nasty southern, heart unfriendly food. Perhaps I wanted more from this upcoming southern community.

The tipping peppers were amazing and hit the spot. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was great! This place has a great, laid-back atmosphere. We sat outside at the picnic benches and enjoyed live music and their awesome beer selection.

I met a girlfriend here for lunch and took my mother here when she came to visit and was surprised. It was a cute restaurant that has a fun relaxing atmosphere. The customer service is honestly the best I’ve experienced in Montgomery so far. I’ve had a young guy who has served us both times and he’s pleasant to just talk to. We have not gone back in the evenings but I heard over the weekends it’s a family hot spot. They have a liquor license and you will not be disappointed in the beer selection. The humus was so good, the pork clouds I would recommend and I enjoy their turkey sandwich with artichoke spread on a soft pretzel roll. You will not get a steak or some gourmet 5* dinner but all of their food has been delicious thus far. When you go inside go to the right where there are leather couches and look on the walls. They are very small and I almost missed them last time but I laughed so hard. Instead of big animal heads there are squirrel heads. I know it sounds strange but it’s perfect for their décor. Outside they have lots of picnic tables and a small hill that kids will get on cardboard boxes and slide down. I guess this occupies the children while the parents are having dinner and drinks. Clever.

The food is not that great but the beers are awesome. Also if the grass hill is open again, the kids loved it. The only thing that taste decent to me is the«BLT» which has spinach in place of lettuce. The service is also mightly slow and the waiters/waitresses always seem to be overwhelmed. BUT it is a beer garden and when we go, it’s usually for the beer.

The food was ok. Nothing spectacular. I went with my sister and nephew on a Saturday night. It wasn’t super busy, but there was no space for the three of us inside so we ended up sitting outside. Our waitress came and took our order for drinks and an appetizer right away. And that was all we saw of her for about an hour. About 10 minutes after we got our drinks, someone else(I think the manager) took our order. After about 45 minutes we still hadn’t received our food. Then the waitress finally came back out and asked if we needed anything. We said our food and she seemed surprised. 15 minutes later we finally got our food. I had the Chicago dog. It tasted ok, but it was a little cold, like it had been sitting for awhile. This was one of the worst experiences I have had at a restaurant, but I’m willing to give them another chance.

Yummy food. The entire family, including the toddler, loves the pimento cheese. I’ve had the curry chicken salad, pimento cheese, TCF(tomato, cucumber, feta) salad with flatbread wedges. Their hotdogs are delish(husband tried the Carolina dog), chili is tasty, and the BBQ flat was a big hit with the oldest child. The two littlest ones like the kids’ menu with option of applesauce or chips. They, of course, have tasty craft brews on tap, which change every so often. We’ve only been there twice, but have vowed to make it a regular place. One of two places that I want I return to here in Montgomery.

Great lunch or dinner + drinks spot. Their warm pita with three sides is my favorite(I like the slaw, tomato cucumber feta salad, and curry chicken salad the best). They have a wide selection of craft beer and a few cocktail and wine options, too. The place is very family and dog friendly. It’s fun to watch kids slide down the grass hill on pieces of cardboard. It is usually very busy on weekends, so sometimes it takes quite a while to get your order. They are willing to host events outside in their side gardens and it can be magical when the lights are strung up and twinkling.

Awesome selection of draft and bottled/canned beer. Menu is diverse but not huge. Most the food is pretty simple, but great. Very relaxed atmosphere. There is outside seating, and a «hill» for kids to play on. Very cool place. In most large cities with a lot going on, I’d give this a 4, but in Montgomery, AL, it’s a solid 5. One of the best places in town.

The venue is tucked away in the Hampstead development. A single building with sidewalk parking. The furnishing & environment are very pleasant & calm. Great place for a quiet business lunch or with a good friend. I ordered the BLT. It had good ingredients but is served on a roll that becomes really pasty much in the middle. It’s also a lot of bread in a world weening away from carbs. The bacon was crispy, the spinach was fresh & the tomatoes were just right. The pickle was also crisp but well pickled. A pleasant experience altogether but SLOW. Over 30 minutes to get a BLT. The table next to mine(who arrived shortly after me) inquired about the status of their order as they seemed concerned(as was I) that their order might have been lost. There were maybe 12 customers in the restaurant at the time, so it was unclear why simple orders took so long. The staff was friendly and prompt except that I usually expect after 20 – 30 minutes to get a «your food will be out soon.» Looks like they also have some comfort foods, so if you’ve had a long day, this looks like a great place to wrap up. I won’t go out of my way to come here again, but if you’re local it seems like a good option.

Great hang out spot. Comfortable seating, although when I visited it was super packed. I loved the hummus flatbread and wine, especially with the Unilocal check in deal. Everything tastes better with a discount! There was live music playing pretty loudly which made it difficult to hear conversation. I was surprised to see so many people with infants still in carriers while all this was happening.

This place was absolutely amazing. We drove in from St. Louis, 9 hours in the car with two kids and this is the first place we stopped to eat in Montgomery and we were not disappointed. First and foremost the pimento cheese that we got as an appetizer with flatbread was out of this world. I’m not a huge fan of pimento cheese but if this place made it for the entire world I don’t think there would be anyone who would not eat pimento cheese. After the pimento cheese and a nice cold Yuengling that came from the over 60 different beers that they have in bottles, I moved on to the Carolina dog. The Carolina dog was one of their all beef hotdogs cooked to perfection and paired with amazing pulled pork and a Carolina coleslaw. All of that was topped on one of their fresh made oversized hotdog rolls and it turned out to be one of the most amazing combinations of flavors I’ve had in a long time. The place itself is nice I would recommend you try to go during a nonpeak time with kids because seating is hightops and couches with a limited number of normal tables. We were absolutely thrilled with the service the food the location and the décor. We will definitely be going back.

The best hot dog I’ve ever had! This place is off the beaten path and a jewel of a place! The architecture is a bit odd with garage door style walls that open up for more open seating. There’s a cool little picnic area to the north side of the building that’s great for kids. The food menu here is really small: wraps, sandwiches, hot dogs, sides and desserts pretty much. Their beer menu on the other hand… well…it’s like ginormous! I had their Carolina dog and was seriously blown away at how good it is. I mean ¼ pounds of kosher frank layered on TOP of bbq pork and topped with delicious toppings… how can you go wrong? I had the tomato/cucumber side and that was delicious too. And if that isn’t enough, the cookie skillet ala mode was a heckuva lot better than the last pizookie I had at BJ’s. All in all, the food is great, albeit a small menu, and the beer is top notch. Top that with a 10% military discount and/or 10% off for Unilocalers and you have a winning combination! I’ll be back!
