Great staff, good food, & very relaxed atmosphere! Sad the prices have gone up and won’t be going there as often.

Came here still hungry after a sub-par lunch at Skinny Pancake. I wish we hadn’t. *Wife got«Cream of Pumpkin’ soup as she was craving a soup of some sort and diner didn’t have a standard chicken noodle or chili. Probably one of the worst soups I’ve ever tasted. She took half a spoonful and pushed it away. Super watery, no cream detected at all. It was like the«chef» reduced some skim milk, sprinkled some pumpkin spice on top and called it soup. *I got a tuna melt, which was serviceable actually. I just can’t give this more than 1 star: A. Took forever to get our food, even though there were 7 other people in there B. Really odd waitstaff and just scene in general. Hostess counting money at the counter, talking loudly to other co-workers. Couldn’t get out of this place fast enough. Just do yourself a favor and keep walking…

Food typical diner with all day breakfast available. The portions of regular meals were not overly huge but appropriate which I appreciate. The half stack pancakes were huge. The overall cost seemed a lil high bc they do a lot of a la carte or tack on that adds up(2.50 for an 8 oz glass of milk along w 80¢ for choc syrup?).

This is a wonderful, quaint spot with super friendly down-to-earth folk! It’s a diner with a widespread local following that keep coming back to enjoy their favorite dishes. The specials change daily, but always include a mouth-watering Chef’s Omelet– plus eggs benny on every Sunday. Breakfast highlights include local Steph’s Granola fruit parfaits, Manghis’ French Toast(bread baked right down the street and includes six different varieties to choose from), the O’Brien(house-made corned beef hash topped with eggs on a bed of homefries served with toast), and the croissant breakfast sandwich(my personal favorite being the marinated tofu and sprouts with egg and Cabot Cheese). There are some lovely lunch options as well like the California Ruben(amazing vegetarian ruben-style sandwich), the juicy Bacon Cheese Wimpy Burger made with local organic beef, and the C.C. Melt with house-made chicken salad. I always add or upgrade to crisp sweet potato fries for a real treat! A full array of tea choices are available and the coffee is always fresh. I would definitely suggest checking this place out to get your fill of specialty diner food!

Great spot. Sit by the window and look at the water rushing by. It’s your classic basic food. Next time I’m passing thru I will stop and eat again. service was super friendly

Disappointing. Looked like a good dive-like diner from the road. Eggs were fine. Homemade bread costs extra. Ok. $ 3 extra for 3 sad, slices of greasy tasteless bacon. Coffee was unimpressive. Not sure why this place had that many people. Oh well.

Came here for breakfast. Meh. The place itself doesn’t seem very clean. The staff was friendly enough and the food was mediocre. My husband and I both got omelettes. The flavor of the omelettes was good, but there was barely anything in them. They looked more like crepes. The omelettes come with toast only and for us to each add homefries it was over $ 6. Definitely not worth it. For our two meals and two coffees it was almost $ 30. Way overpriced for what you get. For that price I want an omelette loaded with stuff! Won’t go here again.

This is a tiny little place with standard middle-of-the-road diner food. All the good reviews seem to be about breakfast. Unfortunately, we went for lunch. A couple of notes about the interior. My booth seat was WET, I don’t know if it was due to being just wiped down but that, combined with the vague almost wet dog smell that lingered in the back made the place unappealing. Also, you could see the employees beverage cups scattered across the back side of the kitchen counter(out of sight for the cooks, but in direct sight for the customers) which just makes the environment seem sloppy. My turkey and avocado sandwich was okay. The mayo was supposed to be chipotle flavored but you couldn’t taste anything remotely spicy in the sandwich. Also, for a cold sandwich, having the multigrain bread toasted was weird for me. The fries are freshly cooked but are not all that crispy and are not seasoned with salt at all. Maybe there’s some dietary concerns with the general age bracket that visits here, but unsalted fries are bland bland bland. The bill was almost $ 30 for two sandwiches and a soda & water which, in my opinion, is way overpriced for the food we received. Looking at their online menu, you could definitely grab a better lunch for the same cost at NECI on Main just down the street and at probably any other restaurant within walking distance.(Something to keep in mind)

TERRIBLE! Do NOT eat here. I was lured from advertising saying ‘local, local, local’, but what i received was trashy food that came from a greasy, dirty, environment. I ordered a lunch special of hamburger & fries for $ 7 which seemed great until I received it in a styrofoam box & opened it to see too small white bread buns with an even smaller patty &NOTHING else. No mayo. No mustard. No ketchup. Ooooh wait– they handed me another small plastic container w a lid for two tiny pickle slices?! Really? This Vermont. It was insulting. I asked for lettuce, tomato, mayo, etc & they said it wld b an upcharge.(After I had tipped a $ 1 for a take out order.) I felt so disappointed, knew I wld personally never go back, but here now I decided I shld reallllly make an effort to have people know not to go here. They really do not care about delivering a satisfying healthy meal. Its fast food serving greasy food in un-consciously and irresponsibly purchased containers, capitalizing on ‘local’ as a marketing scam. So angry! Waste of money– & nothing tasted good.

Ordered a bacon cheeseburger and a cup of the corn chowder. The chowder was very watery and kind of flavorless. The bacon cheeseburger was not only flavorless, but tasted very strange. While it was a medium burger, the middle was somewhat raw. Therefore, I was not a fan of the food. The restaurant is tiny and has poor seating. The service was nice, however.

Everything was fine. I had pancakes and for the price I paid there could have been a couple more on the stack. I’d go back :)

Meh. My pancakes came out slightly burnt and I took a big gulp of expired milk. This place is overrated. I also want to say that is review got a response from whom I presume to be from the staff six months later. It gives insight to either the staff or the people that frequent here. «Perhaps if your waitress hadn’t been so busy cleaning up the constant messes your terribly neglected children kept making, she would have had time to check on the quality of your food.»

Arguably the best place for breakfast in Montpelier behind the much heralded Kismet Kitchen. Was visiting and wanted to try KK but they were closed, so we ended up here. The waitstaff was friendly, and all the food came out quickly. The chef’s special omelette was good — it had goat cheese, spinach, and a few other things. Worth checking out — limited seating.

I have a passion for bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches, which I have eaten most mornings for breakfast since I first discovered their glory when I was a kid. That being said, I have very high standards for breakfast, and I was not disappointed. Their BE&C was near the top of my best ever list! The home fries were very good as well. The fruit cup had fresh and perfectly ripe strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, bananas, oranges, honeydew, and cantaloupe. I love coffee just as much as I love bacon, egg, and cheeses, and I could not complain. Highly recommend this place!

Now I’m not a huge breakfast-coffee-place kinda girl, but the tempting descriptions got me. And we were hungry. Waffles. With whipped cream and real maple syrup and fresh blueberries. To die for. We sat in the front booth/table that you share if you have fewer than a lot of people. It was the perfect people-watching spot. The people working there were very friendly.

5 Stars for Best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. We come here on our way home from Burlington every few months or so and have a tradition of getting their eggs Benedict. It’s a tradition because THEY’RETHEBESTWE’VEEVERHAD!!!(and we can be a tad bit food snobby at times ;) I also just read that they only serve them on Sundays so be careful when you go expecting them. Oh yeah, and they have the best home fries too(ask to burn them) no salt or pepper needed! I usually dont order anything else so unfortunately I don’t have insight on other menu items. The place is very old school and cramped, so sometimes there is a wait for tables, but they have a small counter and two community tables you can sit at if you don’t mind sitting with strangers(we like making new friends so we don’t mind). They also have local art on the walls which they rotate, and lots of crazy colored chefs hats hanging from the ceiling. I am in Stowe vt right now, and I think we are going to bypass the tourist traps so we could get some coffee corner!

Best eggs benedict in Vermont. I wish they offered it as a menu item but sadly it’s only offered on Sundays. I am not sure what the people who are giving the low reviews were expecting. This is VERMONT. If you don’t like it, get out.

This little diner is so cute! Montpelier is a two street town, charming and welcoming yearound. There are several great restaurants downtown, but coffee corner is one of my favorites. My family and I always make a point to stop here for a delicious belgian waffle with blueberries, whipped cream and real vermont maple syrup plus bacon on the side when I’m really hungry. They have great soup and sandwiches too. This greasy spoon is nothing fancy, but if you don’t mind the closet sized bathroom and teeny tiny booths, you’re going to love this place.
