Surprisingly large stock of yarns at this shop, including New England brands, which I was specifically looking for. The owner was very friendly, enthusiastic and helpful and showed me some ideas from her Ravelry account for some specific yarns. The prices seemed no higher than elsewhere. Great little shop in a cool little town… definitely worth a stop!

As luck would have it, this place is across the street from The Skinny Pancake, which we had found through Unilocal, and where we were having lunch on a drive back to CT. With 18 mins left on the meter, my 4yo and I made a quick stop at the Knitting Studio. I was very impressed! Loads of yarns, with something for every taste, style and ability! I quickly asked about local yarns, and was led to a special section where I found an alpaca/merino blend from local(Montpelier!) animals. I loved it! I would have happily stayed longer, and would love to be a regular, but alas, the meter was ticking. Oh, and I wanted to mention that the staff were super helpful and kind and not pushy.

Great little shop. I stopped by while in the area on vacation, and the owner was super friendly and helpful. She gave us an overview of the layout of the store, then asked if we were looking for anything in particular and gave suggestions. Definitely someone who knows what they’re talking about and loves talking yarn. I particularly loved the section of locally produced yarns. I visited several other shops in area but none had such a wide selection of local yarns. There was a pretty wide selection of everything else, and prices decent for a tourist town. There’s a large sale section in the back room that you should definitely check out, there were some real nice yarns for good bargains, and well organized, not your typical rifle-through sales basket. If I lived in the area, I would be thrilled to make it my regular shop.

This place is adequate. I stopped by here when I was in town for a meeting and was not really impressed. Especially compared to the Northeast Fiber Arts Center. The prices were slightly higher than other places. The selection is decent but not impressive. However, these people were amazingly friendly. Interested in what everyone was making. They greeted everyone. I could stayed forever. They have a ballwinder by the window. I wound my own yarn, but got the feeling that they normally do it for folks.
