Not expert on Korean Food. After looking at the others order, I find out that the food was good. The food and prices are not bad. I had tofu soup and yummy chicken bbq. It was awesome. Friendly service. Nice crowd.

Not expert on Korean food. Know nothing about it. I did try their tofu soup. The soup serve in hot. I feel the warm that goes down to my belly. And it feels great. The food is okey. Price is affordable. Service are just fine. Workers are friendly and attentive.

This place is in the same lot as Vons, so I’ve never had a problem parking. The food and prices are not bad, but I wish the service was a little more pleasant. The waitresses are not necessarily rude, just not particularly friendly. Maybe it’s a cultural thing. I like to eat fast, but it’s hard to do so here since the rice, soup, and meat are usually served in a hot bowl or on a hot plate. It helps to put my food in a separate bowl to let it cool down, but not fast enough for my pace of eating. They also have a self-serve soft-serve machine, which is not high quality but will do for me to end my meal.

They raised the prices by two dollars for their tofu soups. That’s the final straw. They used to give you a fried croaker fish for free. They did away witht that last year. How much more can they take away? Quality is good no doubt. But the crowds at night was reduced to two couples this evening.

It is unfortunate that the waitresses are so rude. We had to BEG for napkins 3 times, finally she comes back with 3 napkins for 5 people. Food is ok, nothing extraordinary.

I’m no expert on Korean food but after walking through a farmers market in Studio City my friend asked if I felt like getting lunch. Well sure, after looking at all that other good food. I forgot that these friends think nothing of driving 30 miles to try some new food item, silly me I thought we’d move the car 5 feet down Ventura Blvd and eat there. Ok so in the car we go… to Glendale… into a strip mall… into a completely non-descript place. First good sign is that it’s pretty crowded at 2 pm on a Sunday, and everyone except us was Korean. Now, when I say I’m no expert on Korean food, it means I know nothing other than the name Kogi truck. Not even the food, just the name. Also, I have recently learned I can’t eat soy. So that ruled out all the tofu soups. I wound up with some black piping hot stone bowl of rice and vegetables and stuff that was so freaking good I wish I had more. The bowl was so hot that the rice on bottom got crispy(mmmmmmm) and with the kimchi and sauces added in, every bite became an adventure. I see a lot of Unilocalers complaining about service, ours was fine. Not good or bad, invisible but there if we needed something. And we did have to ask for more kimchi; one of my friends wondered what was going on because they used to give you a lot more. But every time we asked, we got it. Mine was delicious and I’ll definitely be back.

[3.5 stars] If you MUST eat tofu soup in the Glendale/LC/CV area instead roughing the drive to Koreatown, this is the safest bet and maybe safer(have you seen how those ajuma’s drive?!). The tofu soup broth is consistently A-ok, not amazing but comparatively good for this part of town. In fact, none of the dishes have been below average and it is the same every time. Banchan also does not disappoint, I always enjoy at least half the side dishes. Service is typical Korean-aka nonexistent. The waitresses take your order within 5 minutes of being seated, refill your banchan if you manage to get their attention and only if it isn’t a full house. Ask for the check early on if you’re in a hurry and the place is packed but don’t be alarmed if a check is placed on your table when you’re only halfway done. Parking is easy as it’s on the Vons parking lot also easy to get to, being just off the 210 Foothill ext. Korean takeout is also convenient and includes adequate amounts of rice and samples of banchan. Similar joints: Tofu love in CV is also good but it’s a hit or miss but for the love of God please DON’T EAT tofu soup in Glendale. I Love Tofu&Bbq tofu soup broth is so sad it will make you cry; Kim’s Kitchen is palatable but will leave you with a frowny face and make you wish you had just gone to King Taco.

There was a recent change in ownership/management that has sent this place on a downward spiral. With new management, they no longer serve the crispy croaker with the tofu soup, and there side dish assortment has also dwindled. With less of a wait staff, service has become horrendous and unless you yell in Korean, it is hard to order, to get anything like a fork, or even to get your bill. I do enjoy the tofu soup but downgrade my rating due to service.

I’ve been to Seoul Korea, Gangnam, and this is right there with the best of them. Looking for traditional Hot Stone Bibimbap? Looking fo to fixing of some dumpling tofu? That’s right folks, they haz it! My fiancé and I go once a week. If we don’t go we start getting the shivers. The service is great, these ladies and gents work hard to bring you great food with great service, and a competitive price! Get Cho Danged!

for a quick lunch we went to this korean restaurant Food: good food but nothing special. Service: Fast but in the end it was kind of hard to get the check because there was no waiter or waitress around so i needed to go to the kitchen and ask them for the check.

Service: The waitress gave us our soup before giving us our rice. How does she expect us to eat the soup before having rice? So we had to eat for 20 mins before we could start eating. 3⁄10 Food: the side dishes have become so bad. They used to be very appetizing and I was a very big fan but I’m not sure what happened. 6⁄10

I open the entrance door at literally 8:55 pm. Sign reads Close at 9 pm. I sit down and order«hot rock rock pot rice casserole» Tor Sol Bi Bim Bap. Red chilie sauce in a squirt bottle and all the«Ban Chan» sides followed. Quite impressive! The key is to order stealthily, and let them do the rest! Delicious! Pro tip: add a little cold water water to the hot rock pot. It’ll steam and add moisture to the cooking process while at the table. Stir frequently and enjoy!

This is probably the best place to get soon doo boo in this area. The food is really great, and they also have free soft serve vanilla ice cream. The only thing I can complain about is their service. Knocked off a star for their«ehh» service, but overall the food here is affordable and tasty.

We found this place by accident and what a happy accident it is! Our go to place for tofu soups and korean restaurant other than the cook-your-own-bbq was always BCD Tofu House and now we have this! They’re awesome and delicious! I also like they have free ice cream for dessert!

Soups: 5 stars This place is pretty popular, though it is kinda hidden on the side of a Vons under the freeway. It is very Korean: most customers are Korean, wait service is not the priority, etc… They specialize in these Korean soups that come in iron(or is it stone?) bowls and are supposedly baked in the oven. This is the reason to come! They have a number of non-soup items. Avoid them. It basically comes down to a plate of meat and a bowl of rice. Although, of course, ordering for the whole table to share is an option. There are eight soups, which is why you come here. They are all the same except for the protein added: chicken, beef, seafood, tofu, etc… There is a combo available where you get one of the meat dishes and a smaller soup. With this combo only soups 1, 2 and 4 are available. I don’t know why, but that is the way it is. Your waitress, in bad English, may tell you«Only one two four», which sounds like«One to four», but no, #3 is not available. This can cause much amusement and also anger the already sour waitress. Just FYI. My favorite is the mushroom soup, they load it with mushrooms. I think it is #7. But all of them are good. You can order the spiciness as you like. Medium is perfectly fine for most people. Going higher they do get really spicy… this is a Korean place, if you order it really spicy, it will be REALLY spicy. There are metal thermoses on the table with cold and hot water. Here is a tip: They will bring you rice is a stone bowl. The rice will dry out. Pour water(hot) on the rice to keep it moist. This is a normal thing to do, no one will laugh at you. Otherwise the rice gets really crusty. The soups are pretty big and all under $ 10. They also do them to-go, and they travel well and a minute or two in the microwave heats them up with no loss of quality IMHO.

I don’t know what happened to this place. I guess them getting busy got to there head. Sadly I live close by but won’t order from here any longer. Last pick up order was half the size I usually get. Called them after getting home and the lady says, that’s our usual size. I said it’s not, I order it about three times a month. She started to argue so I just hung up and will never visit. The tofu soup has also gotten bland and not how it used to be. Hopefully someone will open a decent spot soon.

Just… no. This place will just make you appreciate BCD more(tofu house in ktown). The side dishes are meh and the soondubu(tofu soup) is mediocre and MSG-fied. Service is also pretty slow. Unless you have an unbelievable craving for tofu soup craving, opt for another place to eat. I shouldn’t be complaining about free stuff but I used to indulge in their free soft serve ice cream but now it tastes like cheap vanilla ice cream. Basically everything about this place is dwindling down.

This is a favorite spot to go to for some blistering hot tofu soup on a cold, winter night. I typically get the kimchi tofu soup, medium spicy with a side of the bulgogi. Afterwards, remember to grab some ice cream before you head out the door. What a perfect way to bring your tongue back to life after scorching it with insanely hot soup.

I’m a firm believer that the quality of a korean kitchen can be determined by its side dishes, and I’m a fan of this joints’. The always, consistently tart and sweet cucumbers to the crispy-saltiness of the little, fried yellow croaker fish they serve with a tofu soup, every meal had here(and I’m talking many a Sunday night dinner w/the wife and in-laws) is dependably tasty and satisfying. Also, they have a self serve machine pumping out free frozen yogurt, or whatever it is, and it hits the spot. It’s a great alternative to Indian, Chinese, or pizza if you’re thinking family dinner, about $ 10 a head more or less. It can get busy during dinner service so I highly recommend you call ahead to see what the wait is like etc. Missing a star due to small portions when ordering anything with beef involved. If you want some grilled protein I recommend spicy chicken bulgogi. Tasty tasty stuff my friends.
