This was our first time trying out this place the food was bad tasteless salty and disgusting I had a stomachache as soon as we came home on top of that. I will never go there ever again. I would rather drive to Pasadena to Panda Inn.

I ordered food for pick up. Parking was atrocious but expected on a Saturday evening. What impressed me the most was the sincere helpfulness of the staff. They were clearly slammed but took the time to check every order to make sure it was correct. They maintained their cool with irate customers who had to wait an actual 3 minutes to make sure their order was correct. The food is always excellent but the staff today made me give them 5 stars.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Wife and I were in the mood for Chinese. Place is very comfy… nice décor without feeling uptight. Had the garlic shrimp per waiters recommendation. Excellent. Very flavorful, right amount of heat. Wife had veggie stir fry. Neither of us could finish. Also, had a great little three piece acoustic ensemble who sounded awesome. Great selection of hits. Nice and quiet… so you could still converse. Overall, four stars. Highly recommend!

When i think of chinese, the first two things that come to my mind are cheap and good! This place was pricier than normal and the food was ehh at the best. I ordered the velvet chicken with curry sauce, chow mein, and the giant egg roll. I don’t normally ask for a replacement, but this was very bad. The chicken plate was swimming in grease. The chicken itself had little flavor and tastes some what odd. The egg roll was giant, just giant but didnt taste good to me. There was supposed to be chicken and shrimp in the egg roll, but to me they should’ve called it a giant veggie egg roll. The chow mein was pretty good but after a couple of bites out of the not so good chicken and giant egg roll I only got to eat a couple bites out of the chow main before getting full. Overall, I think 3 stars is pretty fair. The restaurant was very nice and the staff excellent, the food was definitely not worth the price.

I tried Spicy Szechuan Wings and a cup of Wor Won Ton. There are 6 juicy and crispy wings, together with stir-fried pepper, cabbage and some sweet hot sauce. The won ton is of the American-Chinese style, with only 3 won tons but full of chicken, barbecue port, shrimp, carrot and green-leaf vegetable. The servers are nice and considerate. Also their fortune cookie is the most delicate one I have ever seen!

A classy little spot that has become one of my favorite places to go for Chinese food. The food here is cooked to order so you’ll be pointing to the food on a menu rather than a tray that has been sitting out for who knows how long. A nice departure from what I am used to when it comes to Chinese cuisine. The Egplant and Soy and Garlic Beef make a dynamite combination and are two of my favorites on the menu. They also have a full bar and a good selection of desserts. The interior is comfy and there is a nice outdoor area as well. Parking is ample — just be sure you notice the second lot behind the first, tiny lot. Great spot that I will frequent whenever I want good food. tl;dr — Great cooked to order Chinese food.

I usually come to the bar and do happy hour, and that’s pretty darn good. Last week, went for our wedding anniversary and sat in main dinning room. Service kind of sucked, was kind of slow. Ordered 2 drinks, that took a long time and then glass of wine delivered with«oh he’s still shaking the martini» comment. I think I will stick with the happy hour.

By far my favorite Chinese restaurant. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is very nice and the service is great. Prices are reasonable as well. I suggest their Honey Glazed Chicken with Orange Zest, Shrimp with Asparagus, Shrimp with Candied Walnuts, Jalapeño Stuffed with Shrimp, Fried Rice, Chow Mein.

Came again to New Moon on 4÷16÷16. This time we just had drinks(pear martini and lychee martini) and decided to try some of their other entrees(Mongolian beef and wonton soup). Both entrees were really good… I especially loved the wonton soup and I ordered Chloe’s shrimp again because it’s really delicious. I also love to come to New Moon to listen to the band PCH on Saturdays. They make the ambience really chill and relaxed.

Pick up order service sucks! I don’t live close but my family loves the food from here so I called for a pick up order. The lady over the phone was so rude! One of my orders was Shelby’s shrimp. Now I usually order this. Except on the menu it’s called Shelby’s chicken but instead of chicken I ask for shrimp. Pretty straight forward(you would think!). This lady for some reason was convinced that I was confused and that I want Chloe’s shrimp instead. She kept yelling at me and saying that I’m not right. And I kept explaining to her(in a kind tone) that I know what I’m ordering! Lol! She eventually understood. But then she was rushing me and with quite an attitude too! It was so unprofessional. I almost canceled my order! Wait time for a pick up order was 50 min!!! Ridiculous! It totally turned me off to this place. I probably won’t drive a distance for this spot again esp if I’m gna be treated with service like that! Tons of places in Pasadena for Chinese!

So decided to come here with a few friends for lunch. started off great when we got sat by a beautiful hostess who looked like Katy Perry. As we ordered our appetizers and one of our friends decided to ask the bus boy for a coke and he turns to him and says diet to him being a large man and we just laughed because it was amusing. Once we received our entrées everything tasted great but we were confused on what kind of meat we were eating. Our«chicken» seemed to have the consistency of rat meat but tasted great even if it was. Along with our«pork» entrée seems like squirrel meat(yes I have eaten squirrel so I know how it tatses). At the end of the day was totally satisfied with what we ate and will defiantly return.

Disappointed. I had heard amazing things about this restaurant and was excited to try it out. Our waiter and the staff were exceptionally nice, no complaints there ! However, the quality and taste of the food was a 2. We ordered the egg drop soup, Chinese salad, orange chicken, the spicy beef and low mien with chicken. The soup was alright. The entrees tasted a little funky especially the chicken. The fortune cookies covered in chocolate were pretty good though ! I won’t be back, I wish I didn’t feel this way as I had high expectations for this place.

Firstly, any establishment that has USC memorabilia automatically draws me in. Aside from their fine taste in college sports, New Moon is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Los Angeles. It is always consistent in delivery, it is fresh and delicious. I’ve tried many items on the menu but some of my favorites include the jalapeño stuffed shrimp, the Chinese chicken salad(no chicken, since I am a pescatarian), and the chow mein. Last night, I had the chow mein prepared«Hong Kong style,» which basically incorporates crunchy as well as soft noodles in the dish. In addition, it’s necessary to showcase the Chinese chicken salad because it’s different than most at other Chinese restaurants. New Moon’s is very light in flavor, since it is lightly dressed in sesame oil. Unlike other typical Chinese chicken salads, it does not feature ginger nor any sweet tastes. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, the Chloe shrimp is a house favorite. I believe the owner named the dish after his daughter. My family also had the Kung Pao chicken, which they enjoyed. The jalapeños in the dish provide a good kick of spice. Oh and also as someone obsessed with iced tea, their unsweetened passion tea is amazing! See you soon, New Moon! Always a pleasure.

i like this place! a bit pricy but its a pretty good place for the area. they have chinese food and the proportions are pretty good size. i always love getting chow mein or fried rice depending if i am craving rice or noodles, and then some sort of stir fry dish with meat in it to go along with the carbs. service is good. ambience is nice. good quality food. not much i can ask for!

I mean talk about great service! My sister and best friend decided to have lunch and we were brainstorming when my sister suggested that we go to New Moon. She said she had been there once before and she remembers their food being delicious. And so we went. It was during lunch time, around 2:30. The restaurant was fairly empty so we had the flexibility to sit anywhere we liked. We decided the booth sitting. As we sat down, they brought out these crispy strip looking things with a special sauce, which tasted like the sauce that goes over regular orange chicken. Whatever it was, it was delicious. Our waitress came by and helped us with some of our questions about the menu. We finally decided what to order. We ordered their egg roll as a starter. I ordered the Shelby’s Beef with veggie chow main on the side, my sister got the chicken chow main with fried rice on the side, and my best friend ordered the chicken chow main also. As expected the egg roll appetizer came out first. It was one big egg roll cut up into 6 pieces. It had shrimp and all kinds of veggies in there. It was light and delicious. If you are a egg roll fan, this you will love! Shortly after our main dishes came out. I was not expecting for the portions to be that big. So keep in mind folks, their portions are definitely sharable. my Shelby beef was so perfectly cooked. It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. So was my chain main. It was full of flavor and very vibrant colors. My sister and best friend loved their dishes as well. The ONLY problem we came across was the fried rice. There was something off about it. It did not smell or taste right. So we kindly asked our waitress to take it away since the smell was bothering us. She was sweet enough to do so and apologize for the inconvenience. A few minutes later a gentleman approached us. He introduced himself and told us that our waitress had informed him about the fries rice and that they would take it off of our check as well. Now that’s what you call a GREAT service. They made sure that we walked out of there satisfied with not only the food we ordered, but our experience with having lunch there. We could not have been happier to have had a great lunch at an awesome place. We definitley will be going back.
