Part of the experience of any restaurant is its service. And because of the service here, I am never coming back. I should have been suspicious about this restaurant as soon as our large party entered, given that very few customers were present, not like the crowd at the Blue Fish Japanese restaurant on the same street. Not only did our server seem put out over having to wait on us but also she never smiled and, at one time, rolled her eyes when asked to change an order. Had the service been pleasant, the food, I am sure, would have tasted better. We ordered teriyaki and tonkatsu as well as sushi, the quality of all compares to Beef Bowl. A note to management: do not hire servers with personalities like a Dead Fish().

I have been to this place before and would have given it 4 stars… great sushi, no wait, good customer service. So I went back & this evening I had the best sushi chef! I ate the best fish and watched him create art! I had Uni with gold flakes, toro rolls with I think… pickled radish, marinated wasabi, and blue cheese shavings. I don’t usually take pictures of food, but I did today. He also made suggestions and I tried Black Snapper instead of the more expensive red snapper… loved it. I was a regular at Blue Fish down the street(fish was great, but same thing everyday and I don’t like cream cheese in my sushi) and have tried another place in the neighborhood(not very good), but this will be my new place from now on.

One of the best Sushi places I’ve eaten at in a long time. The quality is great, service is great, really happy overall.

Four stars for the food — lunch specials are good. I get the spicy tuna and udon combo that does the trick. Spicy tuna is on the small side and udon is oversized. They should consider balancing the portions better. Three stars for service — a middle aged Korean woman has been the waitress the several times I’ve been there and I don’t know if she has a rbf or is just snickering at me. It’s always made me feel uncomfortable the way she looks at me — exudes a haughty attitude that gets on my nerves.

I just wanna share my experience with this Sushi Plus. I love their Sushi’s, definitely great and fast restaurant, Spectacular food taste and the people here are awesome good and helpful. I can add this place to my To-Go place and I can bring my whole circle of friends anytime soon. Beef Teriyaki with its very delicious sauce is the best, Sushi Monter and Spicy Tuna Roll are delightful and satisfying, i never had this kind of sushi/teriyaki experience before. Excellent taste. Services are just fine, be back soon, hope this weekend.

I don’t think I’ll be back to Sushi Plus anytime soon. The place is super crammed and the food is alright. I ordered the beef soba noodles from the regular menu and teriyaki chicken with rice and miso soup from the kids menu. The sizes are proportional however the prices are high for the quality you get. The beef soba noodles were disgusting. All the veggies in it seemed canned and the meat was not flavorful at all. The miso soup was very gross(yet I’m picky when it comes to miso soup so it could just be me). The chicken teriyaki however was splendid, and I enjoyed every bit of it. I didn’t really enjoy my experience here. I could tell the staff was very impatient because my friends and I were having hard time deciding what to order so it took a little longer to choose what we want. Our waitress seemed unhappy about because the place was packed and there were loads of people coming in, but how was that our fault? The food wasn’t even that amazing. All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I love Montrose so I’m always looking for new places to try in the area. I also love sushi and finding quality fish is really hit or miss these days. I just had dinner here with my family and I am so sad right now because I miss my food already. I ordered the Rainbow Roll and Yellowtail and everything just melted in my mouth. So fresh! Definitely my new go-to sushi spot!

Sushi Plus is my new favorite sushi restaurant. It’s always nice and quiet and you get your food right away and the portions are very good. The food is delicious and the prices are amazing compared to other places in the area. I really recommend trying this place out!

This is my go-to sushi place when I’m visiting LA. There’s usually no wait for a table. The fish is very fresh and it’s pretty reasonably priced. These are my usual dishes: Nigiri:(My favorites. So fresh!) Sliced bass Salmon Rolls: Eel & lobster roll Salad: Mango & avocado salad It’s definitely worth a stop if you’re in the Montrose area. There’s plenty of parking behind the restaurant too.

We parked in a lot nearby. We had a late lunch on the last day of 2015. No waiting required. I had the teriyaki beef with tempura Deluxe combo. It was pretty delicious. The beef and teriyaki sauce was just delicious. Service was ok. There was only one server for the restaurant. It got a little busy toward the end of our meal. We will come back for a late lunch in the future.

I’m so glad I decided to stop in and give this place a chance! The food was delicious and quickly prepared. I had the spicy tuna salad and salmon sashimi and wasn’t disappointed. It was incredibly fresh and the presentation was great. The service was even better! They did a great job of making me feel welcome and always had a smile. I will definitely be back!

Cons: Poor service(attitude from server, rarely touched our table), Philly roll is priced at a specialty roll price. There are much better options around if you’re willing to look adjacent to Montrose. Sushi was prompt and didn’t disappoint, which earned them a 2nd star. The rest of the experience deserved 1 star. Will definitely not come back.

Been coming here since the day they opened!(well, a week after they opened) To defend Sushi Plus… about people who mentioned about bitchy service… specifically about an older lady with a pony tail, I have been coming here for 8 years, a week since they opened. The service has been perfect every time… although they know us well… I know they treat everyone very well… so, perhaps the bad review came from some one who just happened to be a bad person herself. Who knows… but service is great. Reasonable price, they are generous with their cuts… it has been about 8 years that we come here… I bring clients here all the time too. Can use a new paint job but the food is great… even saw a health inspector eating there… after she did her inspection… was funny, told me the only place she eats sushi at…

Great service, sushi was fresh and sliced in good portions. The sashimi was cut well and not super thin. The sushi roll had lots of salmon and small amount of rice(my type of roll) Added benefit– watermelon after your meal!

I think that my wife and I have passed by this place over a hundred times, and never have it a chance. One day I thought, hey, why not! So we had a take out order. We order salmon sushi, spicy tuna hand roll, rainbow roll, and some other stuff… By surprise, the sushi was wonderful. The portions were great, the taste as great, and the food/fish was fresh! This pretty much became our new choice for a sushi restaurant. The only downfall of the place, which some people may actually have preference is that I don’t believe they use fountain drinks, only canned drinks. I would totally recommend trying them out!

Came across this joint with my business partner. Fresh fish and great pricing! Cant ask for more :) I have been to many sushi joints, this one seems to be family owned and run. So you can see their heart and soul is in it. Just Right!

Popped into this little spot only because I wanted phở from next door but they were already closing up. I will come back to Sushi + again soon. Very good prices for the quality. Will hit this place up for lunch next time, the lunch specials looked really great. I’m a sushi fanatic so am skeptical of places with super affordable prices, usually it’s an indication that the quality or taste is not going to be so great. Not here. I came in late, close to closing, but they were very accommodating and I didn’t feel rushed —- quality was really very good.

Had early dinner at lunch prices at this place and it was delicious. Ordered the Salmon Crazy Roll which had nice cuts of salmon outside and spicy salmon I side but in poke style. Dish was great. Also tried the Chef’s Choice 8 piece Sushi plus Spicy Tuna Roll. The pieces that came with the plate were thick and just right. An assortment of tuna, flounder, salmon, shrimp and white tuna. The spicy tuna wasn’t spicy at all, but it tasted fine. Also tried their Fresh Water Eel which was very good, sweet and melted just right. The funny thing is a small piece of orange was given as a treat… Place is on the small scale but enough seating for a party of four to sit together plus the sushi bar which holds about 10 seats. One young lady assisted me at arriving and she stated I can sit anywhere, place only had one table occupied when I arrived.

One of many good, independent sushi joints in Montrose. Although democratic in their approach, as in catering to what we expect from a sushi experience with lots of loaded rolls, sauces, fried toppings etc, rather where this place shines is in their traditional sushi making and knife work; I believe this place is owned and operated by a Japanese family. A missing star due to clumsily executed rolls and lunch specials, which were all over sauced. But the sushi, o my, was as tight as a nuns you know what. If you want a more satisfying, «modern» sushi experience I recommend sushi monster, which is just down the street. For well executed sushi and sashimi platters, I highly recommend sushi plus. 4 bright stars
