I only took one class here so I am not an authority on this studio. The location is fantastic, easy to find and there is a ton of street parking. Slightly confusing when you first walk in as there isn’t any type of large sign that says YOGA, look for the flyers on the door to your left. The studio is in a large building and has a shared lobby. There are three chairs and if someone is sitting there, you are going to stand until your class starts. This is fine in the summer when you can wait outside, but in the winter this might be tough if you come to class early. When the class that was in session let out, I entered and I was taking the class as a drop in. I couldn’t really tell who the instructor was but I found out very quickly when a woman told me that shoes are not permitted in the studio. Totally my mistake, I should have known better. So now feeling awkward and embarrassed, I asked to pay for the drop in class and then took my place in a corner of the room. The studio itself is gorgeous, beautiful hardwood floors and a stunning hardwood ceiling — you can tell this building has a very long and rich history. The warm breeze and natural light coming from the windows just added to the ambiance in this peaceful space. At the time this was only the second yoga studio I have ever been in and this was the second class I have taken. I had expectations of getting a work out or at the very least getting a killer stretch. I did not get either of these; I didn’t even break a sweat. There are different kinds of yoga and I am finding my way through these very diverse practices. I always have preconceived notions of what something is or should be and this wasn’t what I expected. It was a very lovely space and the room was full so they are fulfilling the need in a whole bunch of people, I am just not one of those people — Namaste.

Kim you are awesome! I went to a yin yoga session today and I feel great. The session wasn’t intimidating at all but Kim did encourage us to push ourselves. The essential oils were so soothing. At the end of the session we stayed in Viparita Karani, and she gave everyone eye pillows :) Also, Kim makes organic yoga mat cleaning wipes and kindly handed them out at the end if the session. I’m trying to develop my crow pose and master dolphin/learn scorpion pose. Kim stayed an extra 10 minutes after class with me teaching/practicing my technique.
