My new dry cleaner had an issue with some equipment recently and I needed to find another cleaner temporarily, so I got on Unilocal. This reminded me that I had had a terrible experience at another dry cleaners 2 years ago and maybe a Unilocal review would be helpful to someone else. So, this review really is from an experience 2 years ago. However, I had dealt with the owners so unless they have changed ownership since then, I assume others can expect a similar outcome. We had used Martinizing cleaners for a few years and they were fine — more expensive than some others in town, but the service was satisfactory. One day I brought in a long chiffon skirt with micro-pleating all the way around it. Some of the creases in the pleating were coming out so I took it in to be cleaned and have the pleats re-creased where needed. When my husband picked it up and brought it home, I saw that they had actually ironed out EVERY pleat! The entire skirt was ruined — from a design standpoint. It looked like a completely different skirt. I called Martinizing and after several back and forth calls they refused to take responsibility for ruining the skirt. They claimed they returned my skirt to me in exactly the same shape/style as I had dropped it off. When I disagreed with them and started getting upset, they actually went as far as to look up the style number online. Apparently, they found a single skirt someone was selling on EBay where there were no pleats. They emailed a picture which was fairly blurry and if you looked closely at the top of the skirt, you could see that even that skirt had once had pleats all the way around, but the pleating had been ironed out… probably by another horrible dry cleaner! The thing that I thought was so unforgivable was that not once did they apologize or take responsibility. They basically accused me of lying which was a joke since they were, in fact, completely lying. On the outside chance I could have been suffering from some kind of mental disorder that had me dreaming up style changes in my own clothing, I asked 3 of my friends who had seen me in the skirt at a party if the skirt was 100% pleated and they all 3 said yes without hesitation. I told Martinizing this and they didn’t care. They never offered me ANYTHING to compensate me for my clearly horrible experience, fabricated or not. They didn’t even cover the cost of the service I was claiming ruined my skirt! Bottom line: this dry cleaner is fine UNTIL you have a problem with their service. In this day and age, with so much competition, the fact that a business owner would go that far out of their way to try and prove a customer is wrong actually only shows what bad business people they are.

I switched to Martinizing Dry Cleaners about 2 months ago after the lady at the other dry cleaners down the street was very rude to me. Kim has been wonderful to work with and I have not had a single problem. My stuff is always ready ontime and the prices are great!
