I was so pleased the first few years I purchased avocados from Avocado Diva. That all changed with my last couple purchases. Last year I bought a box of avocados and when I opened them at home they were so overly ripe that the skins broke open upon picking them up. There was mashed avocado all over the box. I reached out to the owner, Brenda who said she’d get me another box no problem, but that I’d have to wait until she shipped to others because she wasn’t making a special trip to the post office. WTF I mean you didn’t mind mailing me mushy avocados the first time, so why not do the right thing and get another box out ASAP that’s the way it’s supposed to be. These ‘cados aren’t cheap costing about $ 5 each. It can be expensive, but I liked treating myself to the heritage avocados I was able to get through the Avocado Diva. I didn’t plan on buying anymore avocados from AD anymore until she promoted a rare type of avocado that’s hard to get and so I decided to order some. Only a few hours after seeing her avocado promotion and ordering, I see a message that Avocado Diva is ceasing operations because the business isn’t able to make enough money to stay in business. I figured I wouldn’t get my order after seeing this, but I received a message from AD with a tracking number saying I’d get my ‘cados so I was happy. That’s until several weeks went by with no response from AD after reaching out by phone, mail, email and Facebook about where the avocados were since the post office said the tracking number was not valid. Finally I got a Facebook response from Brenda saying that she hadn’t received my messages because she was busy becoming an insurance agent and that her husband was handling the website. Even worse she tells me that there might not be any avocados. If the AD was closing then why promote these«rare» avocados for sale when you don’t intend on sending them to begin with? Shady lady. I never again heard from Brenda or anybody from AD, but luckily I paid with PayPal and was able to quickly report AD and request a refund which I got. I was once so excited to get a box of ‘cados from here, but after the last 2 orders being messed up I’m not sad to see them closed.

Extremely upset with the situation I ran into with this company and have given them ample time to rectify it before writing this review. I had subscribed for a monthly avocado shipment as a gift for someone, and wanted them to arrive on a certain date. The way the shipment dates worked with their avocados happen to work with when I wanted these delivered to this particular individual. When I got notification they shipped, i checked the tracking number a few days later and it said they were available for pick up at the post office, even though I elected no signature required because this person works constantly and is hard pressed to get to the post office before they close. Not a huge deal, could fix it for next time. THEN I got a notification saying it was being returned to sender because the address was not valid, although I had double checked this several times and the address is fine. This was on Monday the 10th. Since then, I have tried countless times to call their NONWORKING phone number, have sent emails, have sent messages through their website, and have sent facebook mesasges and posts. I have tried to get a hold of them over 20 times at this point with no response, and have given plenty of time before writing this review. I will now be sending a hand written letter requesting my order by cancelled and money returned. Rule #1 of business, have a working phone number for customers to be able to contact you. Customer service is obviously not something these people care about in the least.

There was a small mixup with my first order from the Diva, and as soon as I let her know, she bent over backwards to fix it. There is no finer, more authoritative source for heirloom avocados in the nation, and the emphasis is on service. Thanks Diva!

As a resident of California I thought I was getting pretty decent avocados from stores and farmer’s markets, etc. Then I discovered the Diva! Oh goodness. Are you kidding me? These picked beauties are beyond amazing. First off they are HUGE! I’ve received avocados that are bigger than my hand repeatedly from the Avocado Diva. Talk about taste! SHUTUP! Each one is a celebration of the creation that is avocado. Friends of mine get these shipped to them across the country and they are saying the same thing – there is NOSUBSTITUTE for an Avocado Diva avocado! I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the quality, service, price, abundance, variety, etc. of this product. If you haven’t done so already order the try it box and see what so many are talking about! You won’t regret it!

If you love avocados, this is the lady for you! I have been a Diva Club member for over a year, and have had a terrific experience. I look forward to each month’s delivery, getting to taste different types of avocados is the best part!

I sent a special care package, a variety of avocados to my son who is a cook in Manhattan, NY. He was so delighted with this and enjoyed them thoroughly. He misses California Avocados and Avocado Diva knows how to get them shipped so they are fresh and expedient. I do plan on using their services again to share a bit of California’s Most wonderful fruit. Thank you for the great service and products!
