The food is fantastic here. Takes a little while to come out but that’s how you know it’s fresh. The maintenance is low however. We waited 10 minutes watching the workers standing around before they decided to come out and clear a table. And even then they didn’t wipe it down or sweep the messy floor. Doesn’t make you feel like the back is much better.

We thought we’d try this place again, we were not so impressed the first time. Sadly, we are still not impressed. Service was horrible. Waited 10 minutes in line to order and we were the only ones in line. Then they got our order wrong. And we «needed» to wait for our refund so she could help the next people in line. When that group was done ordering, then we needed to wait longer for our refund since now it’s the kitchen that is backed up. The girl behind the counter was really rude.(Because, of course, I said the order wrong. It wasn’t that she got the order wrong.) A half hour later we were still waiting for food. We asked for a refund and went to eat next door. I love the food and service at Sam’s by LA county hospital. This place is not it.

I’m happy with my lunch. The food reminds me of Daphnes. Similar taste, although the dressing is not as good. But still pretty tasty

Came for lunch. Only person that appeared to be working was a female. She was running the register and preparing food. Did not wash her hands in between(3 separate times). One customer called her on it and she lied, saying she washed her hands every time. Finally after waiting 20 minutes some guy comes from the back and finished. Chicken kabob was cold and dry. 3 bite size pieces and way too much rice.

Stopped by for lunch and was very disappointed. When I ordered there were 3 customers already seated and awaiting food. There was one girl working both the cash register and making the food. There was another guy working but kept going to the back and seemed to be of zero help. A couple that ordered after me was visibly irritated and questioned the terribly run system they had in place. They ended up getting there food before me even though they ordered AFTER me. After 22 minutes I got my measly beef kabob sandwich. 22 minutes for an al a crate sandwich. The sandwich consisted of 2 medium sized pieces of over cooked beef surrounded by veggies. The meat was rubbery, and ripped open the sandwich after one bite cause it was so chewy. A total mess. Dont recommend coming here, there are plenty of better options in this shopping center.

Consistent and huge portions! The quality is definitely there. The one thing that bugs me is the huge amount of cucumbers they put under your salad. But other than that, they are awesome.

I use to love this place, the beef shawarma plate is one of my faves, but the last couple times I’ve dined here the shawarma has been under cooked and now this last time having it, it was extremely salty as well. The thing that frustrates me the most was how I specifically asked for their garlic aoli sauce instead of the other sauce that comes with this plate. After getting home I realized they gave me the wrong sauce which totally ruined my plate because that is my favorite sauce to mix everything with, it would have helped with the saltiness as well. It frustrates me the most because I left the bitch a tip … That she did not deserve because she couldn’t pay attention and make sure that my order was correct before giving it to me.

Been here twice, both at lunchtime. Very slow in preparing the food. I understand the need to fully cook chicken, but nearly 20 minutes to make one kabob combo plate? Seriously? Oh, I was the only customer in the place. The good: The food is pretty good. Both times I had the chicken kabob. The bad: The service. Yikes. I know good help is hard to find, but come on. Three workers. One on break, two young girls standing behind the food prep wall talking and talking and talking. I didn’t realize the combo plate offered a choice of rice or French fries. I realized it just as the girl was bringing my to go box out. I asked what she put in the box, she answered rice. Of course, I had wanted fries. She said that when the customer fails to specify their choice of options, they default to giving rice. Well, how about asking what the customer wants like every other restaurant does? Maybe a new customer doesn’t know the menu well. My order was to go, so when I got back to work and removed the box from the bag, there was no napkin or fork. Are you supposed to eat Armenian food with your hands? If that’s the case OK, I didn’t know, but if that is the case, a napkin or two would definitely seem in order. Lesson learned: wait until you have order in hand, and it’s what you actually wanted before placing a tip in the tip basket. I’m sorry I left a tip for this meal. Too many places with good food and friendly, attentive service for me to return to this place.

Not too happy here, wish Sam himself would call me, or respond, I’d like to talk to him. I commented that the meat looked old & dry, and the guy working there said it’s from today so I still bought it When I got home the meat was horrible & too dried out just how it looked, I’m not happy Not a fan of this place Don’t even waste your time

Ordered delivery. Free delivery for $ 20 purchase. Lula Kebob plate was scrumptious. Beef was seasoned well. Rice was soft and buttery. The hummus was creamy and elegantly spiced. The lavash was warm and provided the perfect crevice to place hummus and Kebob within and dipping into a garlic yogurt sauce while taking a bite out of the grilled hot jalapeño Chile that complimented the cool hummus garlic sauce combo. My delivery arrived on time and the cashier delivery girl was sweet and jovial. Good place for people around Moorpark, especially if you want a fresh low fat alternative to burgers.

During a recent visit to Sam’s I was greeted by a friendly cashier who promptly explained what was ready and what would take longer. I ordered a beef swarma wrap, which was delicious, quick, and did not get soggy. Nice work! I’ll be back.

I’ve been coming here about once a week, and most the time it has been ok but todays experience just sucked. So I made an online order around 12:30, to be picked up at 1. Get there a little after one and the guy behind the counter says it will be a couple minutes, ok no problem. Well 18 minutes later I finally get my order. What’s the point of ordering online if you’re just going to make it when I show up??? Anyway grab my order and head back to work to eat. The sandwich was drenched in sauce, couldn’t even eat the whole thing, was a total mess. The tabbouleh was awful, and this is one of my favourite things. The french fries were the only thing decent and those were under cooked.

The good On the combo plate, they let me order the ck kabob and the ck shawarma. No other Armenian or Mediterranean place allows for these 2 in a combo The bad Zankou Chicken is better. I cant help w each bite of garlic sauce and chicken comparing it to Zankou. Prob is Zankou is just too far for me The tip For families, get the family pack 1 whole chicken, salad, rice, pita, hummus and garlic sauce for $ 28.

I love Mediterranean food. It is one of my favorites. I was excited to find Sam’s Flaming Grill not too far from where I live. The food here is very good. It is Armenian in origin so a little different that the other Mediterranean restaurants in the area. For me, it is great because the flavors remind me of my Armenian grandmother’s cooking. The kabob and the lula kabob are very good, either in a plate or in a wrap as a sandwich. The Shawarma(chicken or beef) is delicious and full of flavor. The hummus is smooth and creamy and is a nice addition to the meal. The prices are reasonable. The restaurant is clean and well kept. The employees are nice and friendly. Sometimes the service is a little slow and you have to wait a little longer for your food to be prepared, but it is worth the wait. There is plenty of parking in the adjacent lot, but it does get crowded during lunch hours as there are several other restaurants in the area. I love to come here for a quick Mediterranean lunch. It is one of my new favorite spots. 47⁄100

Tastier than El Pollo Loco with a more intense flavor and moist chicken. Served with pita bread and garlic spread(looks like sour cream with a strong garlic flavor)…goes well with the chicken and pita: my favorite! There are only a few locations I know of… wish there were more. If your in Moorpark or Valencia I would recommend Sam’s. Counter service with indoor and outdoor seating. Orders are a bit slow but the wait is worth it!

The service was so good! 3 of us got the ¼ lunch special and the guy let us choose what kind of meat we wanted. 2 of us got dark meat. but when we recieved our food 2 had white meat. we said one was dark meat and wanted to just switch it before touching it, but the guy gave us the dark meat and let us keep the white meat. as for the food, it was very tasty! my friend got chicken kabobs which were full of flavor. if im in the area i would come by again. again, service was great!

Came in for lunch at 12pm on a Sunday and they are already out of meat — just beef is left, and it took so long to get served for something that is already made! Flies are flying all around us as we wait for our food, for a $ 25 lunch for 2… still waiting, NOTHAPPY. Food arrived, was ok.. good size portions, and servers were nice — but don’t think we’ll be back.

Sam’s Flaming Grill is a Mediterranean food restaurant with locations in canyon country, Saugus, Los Angeles, Valencia, Newhall and now in Moorpark. It is located near Kohl’s and Kiku restaurant. I tried the chicken kabob plate which includes hummus, salad, grilled tomato, grilled pepper and white meat chicken kabob on a bed of rice. This is served with a side of lavosh. I thought everything was fresh and delicious. My wife thought it was a little salty, but I love salt. The service was very good and the good served quickly. The restaurant is new and clean. I will definitely be back to try the rotisserie chicken and the shawarma. For a good reasonably priced meal, this is a great addition to choices in Moorpark.
