New Staff, new menu, great prices! If you ate here in the past, definitely go back! Everything is better! If I had written this review a couple years ago, maybe 3 stars, but after stopping in recently… 5STARS! New management is doing an A+ Job! Will definitely be stopping back very soon!

Like some others before us, we were staying at the Hampton Inn and didn’t want to go far for dinner after a long road trip. So we walked to Muggs across the parking lot and came away satisfied with a good meal, attentive service and fir prices. We’d recommend it, at least should you find yourself in the area. Several people have complained about the wait staff; our waitress was fast, informed and well-trained. She got our orders quickly, got our drinks quickly, got our food quickly and didn’t delay the check. And she smiled the entire time! She deserved and got a good tip. We very much liked the ahi tuna, properly cooked medium rare at our request. The fish and chips had a bland batter to go with tasty fish – odd. The salad and soup was good, though hardly exceptional. Prices reasonable and servings on the large size, altogether a decent dining experience. They have comfy outdoor patio seating, but we chose inside because it was chilly and windy.

The food was actually very good. We ordered nothing fancy just burgers, cheesesteaks, and pasta. The prices are very reasonable and they have a half-portion menu for several of their dinner items. The rub on Muggs is 100% on the service. Our server was took inordinate amounts of time to do everything from a drink order to our food order even giving us the check. And she was not exactly a «people person» either. We also noticed several other people doing a lot of waiting. A new wait staff combined with their menu and maybe Muggs could be marvelous again.

Muggs is in the parking lot of the Hampton Inn. We were staying there for several months while working on a project so we ate there quite a few times. The staff was generally friendly and pretty attentive, the bartenders were especially good and we found ourselves eating at the bar towards the end of the trip. The food was ok but nothing spectacular. The beer selection was ok, but the prices were very good. All in all Muggs is worth a shot if you’re passing through to grab a quick dinner.

Traveling along this section of interstate, we were starving and took a chance on this place! We are still talking about it! Awesome food! He had the chicken quesadilla for an appetizer, I had a wedge, delicious! Wasabi encrusted tuna & sea bass in paper is what we had for dinner. The sweet potato fries were OK but the honey dipping sauce was to die for! Asked and received the recipe! We were traveling & this place was a diamond in the dark! Staff is great also!!! Had to take the picture of the front & post it so you could find it! We only travel to this area once a year but you had better believe we will return every year!

How do I give no stars? I was at Marvelous Muggs when I stayed at a hotel across the street. Simply put this was the worst restaurant I have ever eaten at. The service was slow and didn’t know the menu. Everything they had looked as it they just microwaved it. McDonald’s would be a step up in quality and a big step down in price. The calamari was more like friend bread crumbs, the burgers were dry and way over done. They couldn’t do anything right.

I’ve been here twice — with several years between visits. The second visit involved very simple foods that were reasonable(sweet potato fries, miscellaneous appetizers). The first visit had two issues worth mentioning. My pasta dish was served in a large bowl. It was OK, but the ½″ pool of oil sitting in the bottom of the dish was not attractive. Half inch! Large bowl! Easily more than a cup of oil. I was also disgusted by the match that someone decided to put out in my cup of coffee prior to serving… which of course I only discovered afterward. There are better and far less kitschy restaurants on Montage Mountain. I’d easily choose any of them before coming here. If you’re car-less and staying at either of the two hotels nearby and stick to the basics, you should be OK.

Snuck in for a drink and a snack before the Crue Fest on 9÷4÷09. It’s really pretty nice inside — more upscale looking than the outside suggests. So we ordered a couple appetizers — the flatbread and the potato wrapped shrimp. Both were delicious! Pretty decent atmosphere, too. Not a lot of people in there around 4 on a Friday, but an interesting group none the less. This may make me sound like a heathen but I was shocked when the couple across me clasped hands, bowed their heads, and said grace before they ate their appetizers. At the BAR. Is that weird or is that me? Never saw anyone do that at a bar before. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Anyway, pretty nice place, located right behind the Hampton, where we stayed. Will likely go to both again.

Stopped in Muggs for lunch on a Saturday afternoon… Got cajun chicken and(homemade) chips… nothing great but definitely hit the spot. The service is good and the place was clean(and didn’t smell like a used mop). I’d be willing to check this out for dinner another day, although it didn’t leave any great impression on me. Certainly not my first choice of places to eat. They also have a bar in there which might be OK if you want to hit up something after work.

Came here for quick lunch today and was pleasantly surprised. The name implies a bar/beer joint to me but when we walked in … Muggs was very upscale and reminiscent of a second tier steakhouse with lots of beautiful dark woodwork and spacious booths. There were many photos of visitors(I assume) with silly grins and purposely funny faces … I recognized Regis Philben in his photo on the way out! I had the Bleu Moon Burger which had a bleu cheese spread and Montery Jack cheese. It was definitely quite adequate for lunch and came with fries or chips. The fries were very good and my coworker got the chips, which were outstanding. They were thickly cut and quite tasty!(Yes, I stole a few off his plate!) My companions had the grilled chicken sandwich and another variety of burger. Being a business lunch, I did not ask for a bite, which is generally not considered good business ettiquette. There was a chicken and biscuit dish on the menu but it seemed way too decadent to order without shame. The service was fast and very friendly. Muggs also offers a 20% discount to certain local businesses, which we didn’t know about. However, the waitress noticed our badges and offered the discount up right away. You do have to hand over your ID so the manager can approve it. But one member of our party forgot his badge and she still discounted the whole meal. Regardless, Muggs is pretty reasonably priced for a nice lunch out so with or without discount … still a bargain!
