Colter Bay Village is THE place to stay while visiting Grand Tetons National Park. The RV sites are spacious, wooded, and quiet. Having an awesome place to stay right in the park made this a no brainer and talk about convenient! This location gives you walkable access to the Colter Bay grocery, gift shop, restaurant, Laundromat, and Colter Bay visitors center. Open your door at night and see the plethora of stars, get up a bit early and you may see the local foxes wandering the campground. This place is perfect! Special Notes: The staff at this park is beyond great. Kind, responsive, and professional, these folks make this the perfect spot while visiting this amazing park! Don’t expect WiFi at your campsite, but there is good access at the Laundromat close by! A great plus when staying within a National Park.

This review is for the RV park. I would say 3 ½ stars. Very pricey for what you get, but this is the only game in town. I guess it’s all about location. It’s in a spectacular place. Bring plenty of blocks, sites are not level. No internet or TV hookups in sites. That being said its clean & quiet and has about everything you need. I would return.

These rustic cabins were donated to the park 93 years ago. They were possibly most recently updated in the 50’s or 60’s. At around $ 200 a night, I do believe this is the biggest ripoff I have ever had the pleasure of paying for. The linoleum is so old and dirty it simply can’t be kept clean anymore. The little heater built into one wall was unbelievably loud. There is no chinking around the main beam in the ceiling that separates you from your neighboring cabin(one adjoining wall), so don’t expect to do anything more intimate than cuddle if you don’t want your neighbors to hear. We could hear every word from the couple next door when they were speaking at a regular volume. It really would have been an okay rustic cabin for maybe $ 69 a night, but for $ 100 more than that it was astonishingly overpriced. Don’t let my review deter you from seeing the Tetons, however. They truly are spectacular.

Very poorly run! but it is one of the most beautiful places on earth, so sit back, enjoy and lower expectation.

This review is for the Colter Bay RV Park: We stayed at a full hook-up site for one night in June 2015. Although we arrived too late(around 6 p.m.) to check in personally, finding our spot was not a problem, as all the relevant information had been posted outside the office. Problems soon came up, though. The rv sites are very small and unlevel, and it took some time and effort to level our rv so that the refrigerator would be running. No electricity at the whole campground. Severeal people were working on the problem, but for the rest of the evening, we had to do without electricity. No shower either. We had to learn that the public showers are open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Seriously? To my knowledge, people shower either early in the morning or in the evening. Furthermore, the campsite was full of mosquitos, so we were not able to use the picnic table. We paid 72USD, plus 4.50USD per person to shower. It was definitely not worth it, and we would not stay there again.

This is for the group campground. Sites large, wooded, and spread out, BUT: bathrooms dirty, without even soap or hand sanitizer, no hand dryer. The $ 27 reservation fee plus $ 5 per person(13 people minimum per site) makes this not a good value, IMHO. Also, some sites had a maintained fire ring, with logs around it to sit on; ours had only one log that had a large biting ant nest in it.

The staff was very friendly. Unfortunately that is the only nice thing I can say. For $ 200 per night the cabin should at least have a refrigerator much less a microwave, phone(since there is no cell service), TV or iron. If you are ok with a $ 200 bed and shower then this is your place. Don’t get me started on the restaurant, the ranch house, it felt like everything was straight from the freezer. Never again.

Well maintained campground with full hook ups. It has a nice view of the Jackson Lake. There is a 10 mile round trip hike just off the marina with a nice view of the Tetons. and some wildlife. We saw golden eagles and turkey vultures on our hike. The store is well stocked and we visted the lodge for dinner. The food was delicious and well prepared. Better than Yellowstone!

We enjoy staying here at the Lodge. The rooms are clean and well taken care of. It’s a very convenient location when you want to tour Grand Tetons. You have to understand where you are and why some prices seem a bit high. The restaurant serves very good meals and good variety.

Drove down to Grand Teton on a late afternoon to find Jenny Lake full(as expected) and Signal Mountain too(despite the signage at the entrance) so Colter Bay was the next next best thing. It’s a pretty big campground so it doesn’t fill up luckily for those late arrivals. It also has a nice camp store and a visitors center within walking distance of the campground, a few restaurants too. Also laundry and showers($ 3.75) next to store. Nice views of the tetons across the lake. However, the campground itself leaves a lot to be desired. The no generators section was full so we ended up in the general area in Loop F. Though it was close to the road it wasn’t noisy. And it was a pretty quiet loop. No generators(even though they were allowed) and a lot of late arrival tent campers. The problem was the bathroom. For some reason the ground next to the bathroom as under construction and really dusty. The women’s bathroom had 3 stalls — one of which was locked, one of which had the toilet covered in a plastic bag(not working, I checked). So only one stall had a working toilet and the door wouldn’t shut all the day so you had to just close it as much as possible and hope no one walked in. Seriously, only 1 working toilet? The bathroom wasn’t even that nice or clean. Also the water spigot was difficult to use. To get water you had to pull it up but there’s no way to regulate it. It basically bursts out and all over the place. After that you can slow it down to a trickle. The sites themselves were also not that great. In the woods but very close to the other sites. No privacy and not peaceful despite the woods. Mostly sandy dusty ground again. I would not stay here again.

More like 3.5 stars… Mom stayed at the cabin, we stayed in the RV park. RV park sites are close together with few trees. No fires allowed. PickNick bench at each RV site. Grocery store and gift shop were well stocked with lots of selections. We did not use marina or restaurants. RV area was clean and easy to maneuver but very un-level. Quick walk to the beautiful lake with a breathtaking view of the Tetons. We did not use bathrooms or laundromat. Cabins are no frills but they are«historic» which is cool to stay in authentic log cabins. Some wi-fi spots at Colter Bay but have to go to certain buildings to get online. No cell service thru Att. We would stay in Colter Bay again. Biggest complaint is that in RV park they took our empty ice chest from our site and put it in the bear box… No big deal as we should not have left it out BUT we walked around for 40 mins before finding the only bear box. Would have been helpful if bear box location was listed on the map or on the piece of paper they left at campsite saying ice chest was confiscated.
