Love love love this place! They were very friendly, atmosphere was fun and open. You can tell they will take care of your fur kids! My Mocha was in need of a pamper day and she came home even more adorable than ever!

Gosh, where do I even begin. My heart is so full after visiting Canine Concepts. My husband and I rescued a poor little stray dog off the streets and her fur was AWFUL! The mats were way worse than anything you could ever imagine. So close to her skin so there was no way (even with owning dog clippers) we could help her. I got some advice to check out Canine Concepts and I am SO glad I did. They not only helped me help this pup but they were SO knowledgable. They know what they are doing. From the minute I walked in everyone was so friendly to me and the pup. I think every employee acknowledged me being there and gave the dog the attention she needed. I got a phone call after a hour with an update on how everything was going and some steps they needed to take to help the dog. That is pretty unheard of anywhere else! It was so wonderful to see dogs playing instead of all caged up. I even saw one of the workers walking a dog outside when I came to pick her up! They take their time and make sure to always do their best work! I am definitely coming back and telling everyone I know with a pup or kitty to take their business to Canine Concepts!!! Thank you to everyone at Canine Concepts for helping me change this pups life!

I tried Canine Concepts based on Unilocal Reviews and some personal recommendations and was very happy. Took my new puppy in but before the second visit I discovered the shop had been sold and I was concerned — as it turns out the concern was needless. Everyone I’ve talked to on the staff is pleasant and clearly love dogs. Under new ownership appointments are easier to get because they’ve expanded hours and days of service. My dogs don’t mind going and always come home looking the way I’ve asked. They are miniature labradoodles and we like the faces shaggy but with eyes peeking out — they listen carefully and always ask before taking too much off. They don’t push extra services and work with you to find a realistic grooming schedule for your dog based on what look you want.
I also like the fact that the owner is very involved with the dog community and supports local agencies and businesses.

My Standard Poodle has been in competition in the conformation show rings so we are very accustomed to the very precise detailed «Show Trims’… We would drive all the way to Davis to get Our Hairdo done. I am thrilled to find a shop who knows and understand what we are accustomed too. Coburg had his first trim at Canine Concepts on Saturday. I spoke to the business owner Jamie who was very very nice! She understood my expectation and her and her team DELIVERED! Coburg was happy, clean and beautifully clipped from head to toe. I hope to build a long lasting relationship with Jamie and her team… Bravo Canine Concepts! Thanks for being in my Town Morgan Hill!

Jamie and her team are absolutely amazing! Jamie’s love for animals comes through in all the work she does. Our 5 dogs love going here and come home looking absolutely incredible. They are cared for and loved as if they were Jamie’s own dogs. This is the place to go for a true doggie spa experience!

We love Natalie and her amazing staff! Daisey has been groomed by CC for years and is always looking gorgeous and happy when I pick her up! Her famous side bang is always on point!;) they even come get her from my car when my 9 month old is sleeping! Such a big help!

They were the first ones to groom our dog Mini after she has given birth at the San Martin Shelter. We had no idea at the time that Mini would be come such a special part of our family.
Mini goes to the Doggie Spa at Canine Concepts every other week and always smells and looks adorable when we pick her up. I really believe her physical transformation has played a part on her overall transformation from what our friends called ‘pathetic’ to ‘perfect’ companion.

I’m really disappointed that I have to adjust my earlier review downward. CC had always done a reliably excellent job on my dog — a toy poodle. This last visit, though, was just too bad on too many points.
I took my dog in for her ‘usual’ summer cut. When I picked her up at 5, I was shocked. I found first one leg had a 4″ long section where she’d been shaved down to the skin — it looked like a gash from a distance. When I brought this up, the new groomer (Linda, I think) came over and started talking first about how she had a cowlick that caused it – though this is about her 100^th grooming and the supposed cowlick and never once caused a similar problem for any groomer. Then she was saying that she couldn’t take the time to fix it (not that it was fixable anyway) b/​c the dog had been getting too upset. Then, after this discussion, I put the dog down and notice the other front leg has exactly the same thing! In addition, there were a number of other tufts in various places, the tail was the wrong shape etc.
At this point, a number of things bothered me – the cut obviously, but more that they’d just handed me the dog back and said nothing as though this job was even remotely ok. I wasn’t, however, as completely over them as I became.
They do a lot of communication by text, so shortly after leaving, I texted (to the owner I think) and let them know to make a note that Linda was not to do the grooming on my dog in future. Via text, she stated a lot of «oh, I’m so sorry», etc., and asked what was wrong. By this time, I’d noticed a number of other problems with the cut, so I replied «Too much to text, but I’m happy to discuss.» She replied that she couldn’t call me then and asked if she could the next day; I replied any time. I never heard from her — this is now 3 – 4 weeks ago.
At this point, I’d gotten home and was walking the dog. When I got her inside, over the course of the evening, I became even more upset because she was almost continuously drinking water — I mean for hours. This is not at all her norm. Additionally, since I’d dropped her off in the afternoon, instead of our usual a.m. appt, I’d specifically asked to make sure that she’d have water in her kennel. I was assured that she would. I feel confident that she was in there without water and that is the most upsetting thing — if I could be certain she hadn’t had water there, I would be furious.
Again, it is really disappointing to have this experience with CC. I tried just about everyone in Morgan Hill before finding and being delighted with them. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on the *really* bad cut since it wasn’t the usual lady who did it. But when it’s the bad cut, plus not telling me about it, plus the b.s. excuses for it, plus the owner just blowing hot air with her concern and not caring enough to follow through and actually find out what had happened, PLUS the very likely lack of water, then I just can’t trust my dog there. The whole picture adds up to enough dysfunction that I felt like it was information that I should share.

This place is great. Always so friendly and do an amazing job with my old man he is 13. They take their time and make sure he is comfortable. Don’t waste your money on pet co they butchered my dogs nails made them bleed and was oh no big deal. Not okay. I would recommend canine concepts in heart beat with 10 stars they rock!

They have taken very good care of Brownie for several years. Quality people. I just love getting Brownie’s ears and tail done! Canine Concecpts makes him the talk of the town!

Took my dog here today and found the entire staff and ownership to be the most kind and caring I’ve run into. We were going to have to put our dog to sleep and wanted him well groomed prior to this. They saw him without an appointment after their normal hours and made us feel so welcome and at ease despite our anxiety about the upcoming vet appointment. They did a great job with Taco and I appreciated the quick service and kindness shown us!

I don’t know what has happened in the past 6 months to a year. The front desk service has been declining in quality. My appointments were not written down, no body called me to pick up my dog I had to call them before closing to ask and told me he’d been done for hours. The price went up $ 20 from drop off to pick up time and I didn’t feel welcomed by the front desk person, let’s call her «T», on several occasions.
I’m struggling with this because it use to be a pleasant experience. I continued going because it’s really close to home and the price wasn’t obnoxious; however, the last time I brought my dog in they burned my dog with the clippers REALLY badly. The front desk person told me they put hydrogen peroxide on him and that it would be fine, but it wasn’t fine at all. I found several burns on my dog. It has taken 3 months for him to completely heal.

Been coming here over 5 years. My dogs enjoy coming here every other week for their grooming. I bring my dogs every two weeks and get a discount on grooming.
The shop is kept clean and is set up well. Air conditioned for everyone’s comfort, dog and person.
I get the tip of my dogs’ dyed Orange to support the SF Giants. They also get a seasonal scarf each time.
My dogs have short hair so don’t need clipping. At Canine Concepts their clipping skills are on par with the professional dog handlers I used to work for.

I started taking my first fury baby here 4 years ago.
We love Natalie!
We would do it all! Including the hair color.
Biscuit passed a few months ago but we rescued another furry baby shortly after Biscuit and we started to take her here too!
I’m always making last minute appointments for Caydee and Natalie always manages to make time for her! I truly appreciate that her and the team take good care of my babies because I travel from San Jose all the way to Morgan hill just to take my babies here to be groomed!

Nice friendly staff here. I’m in there to usually just get my dogs nails cut, their prices seem good and they are very prompt when you call ahead. I will be returning in the future.

I took my lab to get cleaned up and I can tell you I was very happy with the outcome. The staff was very accommodating and he left their looking and smelling great. I called them at 2:30 and he was being groomed by 3:00. It is best to set an appointment, but they are very accommodating. They were done by 5:00. My big boy, he weighs 110 lb, was handle well, cleaned up, nails clipped, and he seems genuinely happy to go in and get all prettied up. This is his second time at Canine Concepts. The price is right for a biannual visit, 60.00. I will be going back.
This is convenient to my home and they do a great job. I recommend them for any size dog.

I took my chow/​golden retriever here yesterday for her very first grooming session (she’s about 9 years old). I was very nervous because just before 1 and a half years ago she’s been raised inside the house her whole life so she tends to be very shy around people.
When I dropped her off she had flaky stuff all over her coat because of her extremely dry skin.
3−½ hours later she came out smelling wonderful, happy, and looking even more adorable with her new scarf.
Natalie and her staff were very attentive and friendly. She even gave me a whole bunch of tips as to how to keep her coat from looking dull, what kind of food to give and not to give her.
Overall it was just a very good experience. It cost $ 68 for shampooing, conditioning, feet stomach anal trimming, and ear cleaning. It was worth every penny. (From what I heard it would have cost $ 55 at Petco and if you want conditioning and oatmeal shampoo that’s another $ 17. So even though Canine Concepts has just raised their price since Feb 1, 2011 it was still cheaper).
I would definitely recommend this place to any first-​timers or people looking to switch, and absolutely going to book another appointment next month.

I have moved recently back to the area and have brought my cocker spaniel to Canine Concepts a few times now. This last time I brought her in she was pretty badly matted (totally my fault I know). I explained however that of course I would really prefer for her not to be shaved down (she has a sausage body on little toothpick legs!) but I realized she probably would need to be shaved. Natalie said they would do their best to brush her out but agreed she would probably needed to be shaved and that we should just start over but they would try brushing her first. They called me during her service to let me know that they had tried brushing her out but it wasn’t going to work so I gave the okay to shave her.
They did a good job at keeping her fur a bit longer so she didn’t look silly. However, after I got her home I noticed that on both sides of her belly she had been cut with the clippers. I realize she had been matted pretty badly down there but there is no reason she should have been cut in the process of shaving her. I do realize that sometimes dogs move while they are being clipped but because this was on both sides of her belly I realized they were just being careless and going too fast.
I called to let them know about my disappointment that my dog was hurt during this process. Natalie apologized but said the mats were so bad and they had to get underneath the mats in order to get rid of them. I understood that but they could have easily avoided clipping the dog’s skin by using scissors in areas where the mats were too close to the skin.
I gave them 2 stars and not zero because they are all very nice and I have previously had good service with them. However, I think that they are too busy (keeping a dog for five hours is indicative that they have too many dogs at once) and this is proved again by the cuts on my dog. I also think that $ 60 is a bit pricy and was told that they had recently raised them. (I was paying that price in San Francisco for an amazing groomer who came to our home.) We will be looking for a new groomer
