Rosy’s At the Beach

This place was bad. They get a star because the beer I had was the best part of my meal. I got the tacos that were supposedly «best fish tacos according to the Mercury News»… Well I guess the Mercury News has not had good or even descent fish tacos. They are also a rip off at $ 15 for 2 Salmon tacos that had no flavor, did not come with avocado as it said in the menu and bland black beans and some type of rice mush.
When I asked how come tacos did not have avocado, the server said, «we ran out, so we used guacamole»
For some reason we also did not even get bread, but other tables around did.
Hmmm I thought a had a $ 100 bill to pay for my meal, but hey I only have a $ 20… That would not fly so why did they think they can smear some type of green smear and call it guacamole.
Very disappointed, not worth it. Will never stop there again. Their «best fish tacos by the Mercury News» are horrible.

I don’t know how anyone could rate this place less than 5 stars.
I’ve only been there once but can’t wait to go again! The location is super cute (perfect for date night) and the food is AMAZING!
The salmon burger was perfection and they honestly have the best cheeseburger you’ll ever have.
It’s really hard to choose what to order, but judging by our pick and from the plates of those sitting net to me I feel confident you can;t go wrong.

We went for Taco Tuesdays. Thankfully, we made a reservation so there was no wait. It’s a great deal… $ 2 per salmon taco. While each taco had quite a bit of meat, it lacked flavor. The rosarita, their signature Margarita was mainly tequila than anything else. The fruit cobbler, the big seller had no crumble and no fresh fruit. Not worth the 30 minutes drive from SJ. Tried it but don’t plan to go back. OK meal.

Took the girlfriends to Rosy’s for lunch today. Everything was delish and the service was awesome! The coolest thing was that we were going to go downtown shopping after lunch, so I needed a bag to carry my leftovers in (because they were so good) and she came out with a little handmade bag… it was awesome! Apparently, her friend had made her a few of them and she thought enough of me to let me have one… the girls were so jealous! Thanks again!!!

Very average seafood restaurant, it’s not bad, just average. Nothing creative or fun in the way of seafood. It’s busy, but I think because it’s the only game in town.

We hardly go to downtown to eat but since the parking garage is such a rave, I decided to take my parents and kids on a stroll to see the updates in our downtown and ended up at Rosy’s to try something new.
I was hoping this place was another factor to keep exploring MH’s eateries, but sadly it left me disappointed. I am for supporting our local community’s small businesses and wish them the best.
The Stars are for customer service — the wait staff are friendly and attentive; location and atmosphere as convenient to parking, provides outside seating, kid friendly and the ambiance of being by the beach; the variety of food choices on the menu as I’m a seafood lover but my mom is a land meat lover. The prices were reasonable which maybe gives me another chance to try again in the future.
What caused the lack of stars, we ordered mostly appetizers, however the food/​drinks weren’t impressive:
— the Arnold Palmer had a bitter taste to it, it’s ok but not my typical Arnold Palmer I’m used to.
— calamari appetizer is bland and had an after taste, not sure if it’s the batter or the cocktail sauce or the calamari itself but it had an after taste that didn’t taste right. I decided to overload it with lemon just to neutralize it and it worked but it was still bland
— the sweet potato fries with the chipotle sauce I didn’t really enjoy
— the steamed clams were ok
— the crab cakes were ok
I will give this place another chance someday and hopefully will better

Disappointing. Heard good things about this place so we came for Mother’s Day. Our waitress forgot to bring a few of our drinks. When I asked a second time they still didn’t arrive. After 10 minutes I asked another waiter and he delivered them promptly. When got zero refills and hardly saw our waitress.
I ordered the Mother’s Day steak special. It was pricy but sounded good. The mashed potatoes tasted like they came from a Buffett. The steak had little flavor and was poorly seasoned. I could taste burnt portions when I ate it. Not what I was hoping for for $ 26. Family said the fish they had was good. That’s why it gets two stars. I would not recommend this place and won’t be back. There’s much better food close by for the same or cheaper price.

Best Fish Tacos Ever. We sat outside and both ordered the recommended Salmon fish tacos. The salmon filets were large and perfectly cooked. The service was great and we enjoyed the patio.

This was our first time here. We ordered the raw oysters, seafood pasta, salmon tacos, two adult beverages, and «homemade» cheesecake.
We made reservations. The host looked up our reservation and then we were seated in the best spot! In the corner by the window. Thank you!
The waiter took about 5 minutes or so to greet us and asked what we would like to drink. Water for now please. He later came back with the waters and asked us if we were ready to order. Yes please! We ordered the appetizer, entrees and two adult beverages.
The bread came out shortly after. It was perfect bread. Had a crunch on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. Then our adult beverages came out. The taste was spot on for both drinks. Pink mermaid and white… Can’t remember but it was a beer on tap. The oysters came out quick too. They were very fresh and yummy! Highly recommended!
Then we waited and waited. Our waiter walked by us a few times and checked in on the table across that were seated after us. Three cocktails delivered to them and we are now sitting here with just our drinks and wondering where our entrees were. Hmm then that table got their entrees? … Umm ok. Then another waiter came to our table and looked at my husband and said «you have the seafood pasta and …» We told him our order and a few minutes later our cup of soup came out. Yummy yum yum claim chowder! Then about 10 minutes later our order came out. A little annoyed but the food looked amazing. Just an FYI, the first waiter did not write down our order. Maybe that’s how they take orders? Anyway. The food was fresh! The salmon tacos had a big piece of salmon on both tacos. The seafood pasta the husband said tasted like fresh seafood although the soupy part was more on the citrus side of his taste. Overall the entrée was good.
We then ordered the «homemade cheesecake» per the first waiters suggestion. It was portioned enough for two to share and spare! It was good but the pieces of cottages cheese lumps is not what I personally like.
Overall, we will come back here because the food was fresh and the people clearing the tables were prompt and no dirty plates were left on the table. Oh! And the people who brought out the food was great too! Very polite! And thank you to the person who boxed up our left overs. The first waiter knocked off one star for forgetting our entrée orders? Or whatever the reason was.

This restaurant, Rosie’s by the Beach, has a very nice atmosphere. When my husband finished his half marathon run in San Francisco he was so hungry for fish & chips. So on the way home we were searching for restaurants that serve fish & chips and we found this one in Morgan Hill. It was really good, although the fish was almost undercooked. Instead of the French fries we choose the sweet potato fries. The spinach salmon salad was also really good. The portion of salmon on top of the salad was just about as big as the salmon portion in my grilled salmon entrée. We will go back to this restaurant again. The prices are reasonable and our waitress was very friendly.

My wife and told me how good this place was so I decided to give it a try I was very pleased with the service the food and the price I am definitely going back and it will be one of my favorite places in Morgan Hill

I want to like this place but 3 times I was disappointed. It’s such a nice location and the employees are very nice & friendly with the exception of one guy that was rather rude to my mother and I once when we politely pointed out that he gave back the wrong change. Maybe he was embarrassed and took it out on us. The food is hit and miss. No one wants to wish they stayed home and cooked for themselves when they go out for a meal. Hope they read their reviews & take some steps to make Rosy’s what it could be.

Went there today (Saturday) around 12:15.
No waiting to sit inside. Ordered the salmon tacos. They were the best I’ve had. Soft taco with salmon, crunchy salsa and avocado, black beans and rice.
Can’t go wrong for $ 11.00.

The oysters are not shuck correctly, the chocolate martini was disgusting, though the service was moderate

Seriously grubbin and super cool atmosphere. My boys and I loved it and will return again and again and again

What happened to the Taco’s? They used to be the best, now they taste blah, the slaw is terrible and the guacamole on top looks disgusting. Not even worth the $ 2.00.

Rosy’s is always a great place. Drop in for a quick bite to eat and/​or a drink. Friendly service and good food. Last nite, they were wonderful in helping me and my friend, Dave set up a surprise party for his wife. Ethan took care of everything and all of us who arrived. His service was impeccable … Thanks Ethan for helping us pull of the great surprise.

I enjoy sitting outside and watching the world unfold before me at Rosy’s on the Beach, which is nowhere near the beach. The name «might» trick some, but for those with a good sense of location won’t be tricked. Morgan Hill might someday be on the beach, though, with global warming!
I enjoy the salads and iced tea.

This places is just OK.
My wife for some reason just loves this place. I find it to be over priced, stuffy, and the food to be just mediocre. Maybe I have just been unlucky every time I have came here, I don’t know! I usually get the burger or some tacos. I will admit though that the tacos aren’t half bad. They are actually pretty tasty and consistent. I have tried a lot of items on the menu and my bottom line is that this place really isn’t anything special, and you shouldn’t expect it to be. Overall if you want to go out with some friends and want some decent food downtown, this place isn’t a bad option, just not my favorite.

I visited here on a Friday night with a party of 9. We sat outside which is lovely! Boy was it a warm night. 100 deg.
Pink mermaid — 4 stars. Very good slightly sweat drink
Heirloom tomato salad — 4 stars — I loved this salad! Tomatoes were really fresh! Just delicious!
Service — 4 stars — service was excellent! Every staff member was friendly and helpful!
