This is not my usual review, but I just love Cracker Barrel. I don’t like the name, country store ambience and political leanings of the owners – but the menu is perfect. The mac and cheese is perfect. The turnip greens are like your neighbor’s who should have been a chef. The campfire dishes are so good and the trout is amazingly fresh. Don’t spend money at other fast food places when traveling in the South – wait until you hit a Cracker Barrel and have a delicious meal for the price of what you would have spent at McDonald’s

This is the best service I have had in a long time! The staff is so friendly and attentive! The food is great and the place is very clean. No complaints! Great food and great service.

My daughter and I had a great experience at this Cracker Barrel this evening. We were seated quickly, service was good, trout and chicken and dumplins were excellent, Mac n cheese had the best homemade taste, we got our food super quick, and we shopped a while after we ate and were assisted by several employees, including the manager, Alex, who introduced himself to my little girl and I. Much improvement since they first opened and we look forward to returning!

Very disappointed in my dinner here. Once again, I’m convinced you can only get a good breakfast at Cracker Barrel. I got the roast turkey special. Stuffing was a mound of warmed up fine bread crumbs. Horrible. My mixed green salad was a bowl of iceberg lettuce, 2 cherry tomatoes and 2 slices of cucumber. Turkey browned in a pan wig gelatinous and tasteless gravy poured on top of everything. If you have to eat in a chain restaurant, Applebee’s, Chili’s – any one of them is much better than Cracker Barrel.

Very dissappointed in the service and the quality of some food served. Went there with my dad for breakast and our food was almost cold to the touch. I understand the breakfast rush and could sympathize if our waitress wasn’t talking excessivly with other people. Busy is one thing, ignoring your job is another. Second strike was tonight when I went there with my son for dinner. Once again a long wait for food yet the place was nearly empty. The people next to us who came in after us got their food first however their order was wrong and it took two tries to fix. While my food was ok, my sons plate and syrup were so hot from sitting under a heat lamp we couldn’t touch them. My side salad had visible wilted and brown lettuce. I usually love Cracker Barrell and was excited when one opened up here in town but I’m quickly loosing faith in this new local establishment. I hope they turn it around, maybe after awhile we will give them a try again.

Like most Cracker Barrels, the food is fantastic. However, I’ve eaten here several times, and the service is consistently much slower than it should be.

This is a newer location, smaller than the usual CBs. The men’s bathroom is squeaky clean, I guess the locals haven’t had the time to tag it all up yet. It was Monday lunch so the place wasn’t too busy. I was quickly seated in the enclosed patio. There was the usual antiques and old signs handing on the walls. The server came out after a few minutes and immediately asked for my order without taking the drink order. After conversing with her for a few minutes, I discovered she had been on the job for two weeks, so I forgave her of that misstep. I ended up ordering the bacon cheeseburger and steak fries. You can’t go wrong with that. The server came by to let me know the cooks were making fresh bacon so it would be a few more minutes. No problem! The food came out, and yes, it was a bacon cheeseburger on grilled sourdough bread. Yum. I love steak fries, and they did not disappoint. The server came by again to check on me, and said she had never tried the burgers at Cracker Barrel. Oh girl, you have to get them. I think I convinced her to order one. It didn’t occur to me until after I left, but none of the customers were getting biscuits or cornbread. Normally the server will drop off a couple when they take drink orders. I wonder if they have stopped the practice, or just for lunch? I need to ask. But that is why this visit rates three stars instead of four.

Cool new design of the store although it was a bit weird as we’ve grown accustomed to the normal layout we’ve all come to know and love. My wife said it appeared more«German» but I thought it was cool. Server staff: we were a party of five and seated in a two top scooted together. After we sat and got drink orders another waitress came by and explained that she will wait on our half of the table while the other waitress will do that side. She explained that this I because one table was in her section while the other was not. We all thought that was strange, but whatever. After placing our order and after probably the standard time, as I expected, half of us got our meal and the other did not.(Note there was one small kid split between the two small tables). After waiting more time we received the other meals, but the order was wrong. I understand that the order could have been confused but the server was not apologetic and pretty much made it out to be solely my fault.(since I didn’t understand the entire menu of items I guess) She did fix the order for the check, since it was going to cost about $ 2.50 more her way, but again spoke as if it was my goof up. Also they didn’t bring out biscuits until the end of the meal after asking, then took forever to bring butter for them after we asked for those too. Food: Two separate meals with dumplings came out lukewarm. Burger came out dry. Mother-in-law said it was the worst Cracker Barrel food ever. Management: Did not visit table to check on us. I respectfully spoke to him about issues we dealt with. He said«thanks» congenially and gave me a warm hand shake, but that’s the extent of his help. I’m sure it was probably a fluke but yeah, we would probably avoid this store in the future.

Looks like a new store, very clean and the food was perfect! Staff very nice and fast, even with all the business they had at the time

Solid, midlevel store, newly opened in Morganton at Exit 105. Decent service, good food. New model store has plenty of windows and a modern paint scheme which is a departure from the older ‘dark’ feel prevalent in older units. The floors are new, which might account for the slippery feel underfoot. Might want exercise caution with the very young or impaired. Other than the floors, ADA is excellent. Most of the parking area is ‘behind’ the restaurant, so don’t ‘freak’ if the lot looks full.

Standard CB food… Horrible service from one particular waitress. I could tell that the other waitstaff were competent but our waitress only had our table and completely messed up our order while complaining about her job to us. Finally, when a manager came over to ask us how the meal was, we told him what was missing from our order and never saw him again. It appears that all of the other waitstaff are aware of this particular waitress as we would catch a nod of agreement when they overheard our complaints. This is the first time I haven’t left a tip.

Food is standard CB. Service is WELLBELOW par. I know they are new and I have patience for folks learning but this was beyond bad. We have since given them three different attempts, all bad. I think we will make the trip to Hickory for CB in the future.

It’s Cracker Barrel! I will say that it’s prob one of the smallest if not the smallest one I’ve ever been in. Great food, great service. Check on the wait though since it just opened June 22, 2015 so most of Burke county is checking it out.
