We loved the place. The brunch they offer is also amazing. I really enjoyed the wines. The only part I did not like is we have been there twice. The Owner, a male is a great pour and give you info. The first time we go(the other owner) who was also washing dishes while doing our tasting. I will tell you if you are doing a tasting, do a tasting and leave the dishes for someone else. We stood there while the man on our right was give bigger tasting and got info. We had to start listening to the speech on his tastings as we just got the pour. When you pay for a tasting that is not a good taste to leave in someones mouth. We did have a better experience the second time though. I wish the tasting room was larger but it was fine. The patio is really nice and the vews amazing

Read reviews on Unilocal while on vacation. As soon as we walked In, we were greeted by Jennifer, the owner. She was friendly and knowledgable about the wines she was serving. Loved the Chardonnay and my husband loved Four Dogs blend. We all enjoyed our wine tasting so much, we went back on Friday for desserts made with olive pile and balsamic vinegars, by Noël. Everyone was so gracious and warm– hearted. We felt among friends. Looking forward to visiting again next year and having the Chardonnay with the stream trout we caught.

Great wines and awesome view. We stopped on our way back from Asheville. The wines are dry and all very good. It is great to find wines like this in North Carolina. We really like cab franc but also enjoyed all of the wines. We bought a case and have already made plans to return. The view is spectacular and we enjoyed a bottle of Chardonnay while relaxing and enjoying the view. We plan on sharing our pictures and experience with our friends and family. There is a food truck on site that made for a great lunch! My sister has a food blog and loves wine – can’t wait to share with her!

We went here to celebrate their 2-yr anniversary. They had live music — classic rock — and a nice crowd. Before the music, we did a wine tasting. There were a couple that I didn’t like, but I really enjoyed the two chardonnays and the merlot. The venue is amazing — lovely inside & out. We were able to enjoy our own food on the patio and sit at a high-top table. There are also patio tables and picnic tables, so you have your pick. The kids in our group(5&10) were able to play ball and Cornhole on the lawn. Amazing space, friendly service, good wine.

This is a very nice winery, and the owners are extremely nice. They are seen around, which is nice, to give their own personal explanations on everything they do in the vineyard. They answer questions, and explain things very well. The tasting room is new, about two years old. It’s absolutely beautiful, with nice dark wood throughout. There was a viewer who mentioned they only have one bathroom, which while true, it is enough for the amount of foot traffic they have — and I was there one Sunday when there was a small wedding(~30 ppl). Since they were open for business, my wife and I went in also and enjoyed a few glasses of wine while the wedding was enjoying their event on the grass under a nice custom tent. We sat on the deck, looked out among the rolling hills and saw some black cows across the way which was cool. It was funny, too, because my wife wondered if they were simply painted wooden shapes until they started to move! It was petty cool. Anyway, as for the bathroom, I didn’t notice any issue with the single bathroom the whole time we were there, which was at least two hours. No lines, no waiting, no nothing. One of the owners, Jen, came over to ask if we needed anything, and my wife commented on the vineyard and asked a question. She was so nice and gracious, answered all our questions and we all just sat and talked for a while. It was neat the way she spoke of how she and Ed came to own the vineyard. They were very nice people and very genuine. All in all, this is a very very nice vineyard and winery, and absolutely well worth the visit. We left feeling like a «friend of the vineyard» rather than a customer… like we «belonged there». We’ve been to two other vineyards in the area and they cannot hold a candle to Silver Fork. Also, they have an AWESOME food truck there, I believe it’s called Farm to Fork. The woman who runs it is absolutely amazing, a very soft spoken chef who has an amazing menu. It isn’t huge, but you don’t need huge. The tasting room itself has a nice selection of small soppressata, salami, and cheeses, then you can order an awesome panini, or slider sandwiches, or quiche(which is crazy amazing). Just an amazing place, and like I said, go there and see how it compares to the others in the area. It just doesn’t. The vibe is new, nice, friendly, just wonderful. What will definitely be back. Thanks!!!

Great wine, music, and weekend food and music. Tastings are $ 7.00, and worth it. I left with three bottles(Cabernet, Merlot, Chambourcin). The Cab was my favorite. Their Merlot is good enough for me to like, a lot, and I’m not normally a Merlot drinker! The Chambourcin is really unusual, and flavorful. I need to come back when they have their best Chardonnay in stock. The Farm to Fork food truck fare is awesome! Grab some and relax with a glass.

We enjoyed a very nice time at Silver Fork. The personable owners are the winemakers and are on site. The location and facilities are beautiful We enjoyed the wines and the hospitality. We had a fantastic lunch at the Farm to Fork Eatery, a small custom food trailer on the grounds of the Silver Fork Vineyard and Winery. Betty prepares beautiful salads and sandwiches from special ingredients in her custom made food trailer which sits next to the winery’s tasting room. If you are in the area, you should plan to go for a tasting and then buy a bottle of the good wine and enjoy an excellent lunch sitting outside looking at beautiful mountain views. You will not be disappointed!

Silverfork Winery is located near Morganton, albeit off the dusty trail. The grounds are beautiful with a great view of rolling hills and mountains. The owners are very friendly and the place is very dog friendly which makes it a comfortable place. However, the wines tend to not be my favorites and I have noticed inconsistencies in quality. I went for two different scheduled events, one public and one private, and for both they seemed completely under staffed and overwhelmed. The patio and tasting room is gorgeous, but they seem to get more foot traffic than expected and having only one bathroom is a real problem. The last time i was there i was more than slightly grossed out by an abundance of fruit flies in the tasting room. I really hope they can work through some kinks. I look forward to giving them another try and possibly updating my review if things improve.
