I grab coffee there regularly. Imported fresh ground beans daily. Great home baked deserts, and granola fruit bowls. Try the coconut macaroons with Sumatra coffee. Believe me… um-mm. Great laid back atmosphere with good music, and a friendly, non-obtrusive staff, and customer base. They open a 7:00 am daily and are conveniently located downtown Morgantown.

I don’t know how they took something as simple as a tuna sandwich and made it the best tuna I’ve ever had, but it was delicious. We were passing through and stopped here for lunch simply because it had so many good Unilocal review and it didn’t disappoint. Great little meal, cozy, informal diner feel.

I frequent this place at least once a week and I love it. The food is wonderful. The granola bowl or the oatmeal is usually my «go-to» meal of choice. The variety and quantity of the fresh fruit on top is generous and NEVER disappointing. I also love their waffles for the same reason. My favorite drink here is the dirty chai. For those of you who don’t know that that is… it’s a chai tea latte with a shot of espresso. The chai they use is not a tea bag, it is a powder base and it comes in three flavor choices… vanilla, chocolate and spiced(sometimes raspberry). Also try the espresso milk shake. It is one of my favorites in the summertime. The only complaint about the espresso shake that I have is that, depending on WHO makes the shake, the taste and texture can be really inconsistent. This place is really relaxed and has a nice chill vibe. For that same reason the service can be slow at times. There have been times where they have just COMPLETELY forgot to place my order and bring me my food. This place is a main hang out for many of the locals and it has a hippy feel. Seriously not a thing in this place has changed since I was a little girl! Some things in life never change and Blue Moose is one of those things! I love that it is a small, successful, local-owned coffee shop. They also have Vegetarian options which is really nice! TRY Blue Moose… come, sit, read and sip on a delicious hot dirty chai(out of one of their eclectic yardsale worthy mugs) and you’ll be hooked for life!

Get the oatmeal. Get. The. Oatmeal. It will change your life, and leave you begging for more as you lick the bowl. I also highly recommend the chai latte, it is delicious. Blue Moose is one of my favorite places in Morgantown, I always make an effort to go if I’m driving by Morgantown.

This place saved my life in Morgantown, WV! It’s a haven for eclectic folk, good music, and delicious chai. Seriously, I dream about this chai. Wifi is consistent and it’s a wonderful place to job hunt or write papers. Thank you, Blue Moose, for being a Morgantown jewel!

The best coffee I’ve ever had. I wait all year for the pumpkin spice roast. Great atmosphere, local art, and terrific coffee.

What’s most appealing about Blue Moose is that it’s a cute, little, locally-owned coffee shop where musicians can perform at the stage. The lattes are great — my personal preference and suggestion is to serve the coffee in mugs for customers eating in rather than disposable cups(it’ll make the service feel more friendly and less«grab-and-go»). Lighting inside was a bit dark but otherwise ambience was nice. What I was surprised about was their hours on Wednesday ends at 11pm, but they started closing up at 9. There aren’t many cafes in Morgantown open until that late so I wish my friend and I could have stayed longer rather than relocating. I would come again for the coffee, although maybe earlier in the day.

I’ve had my ups and downs here. Coffee is good. My food is usually good. The chili will be spicier some days than others. I like how they use actual fresh cut fruit, not the stuff that comes in a bucket that’s all slimey and disgusting. The keish’s I’ve got in the past have always been great. The staff is VERY hit or miss. The guy that works there currently with the thick framed glasses, he is so nice. Always in a fantastic mood. Really starts my day off right having coffee and a smile. Usually I get the rudest baristas ever. They don’t care. They want you to know they don’t care. I cringe when I walk in and don’t see the guy working(some of the women are alright but it seems like the nice ones don’t last long) For someone that goes in there somewhat regularly(few times a month for the past 7 or so years,) you’d think that they would be a little nicer being that I leave tips(I’ve worked in service since I was 15, I tip well, Ive been a waitress, a caterer, a bartender etc) or just the fact I give them business instead of the competitors, The Grind(amazing coffee), Panera, and soon to be Starbucks downtown. If they don’t get nicer employees they are going to go downhill as the bigger chains open up around them if they haven’t started to already. As far as the credit card minimum goes($ 5.00 min purchase) I believe I read that it’s a $.50 add on to every receipt now allowing you to have less than $ 5 purchases. I always bring people here when they’ve never had it, I always recommend the place. Can we please get a nicer staff? Also, the atmosphere is nice. Real coffee shop feel. Cool art.

Not a fan. Very unfriendly and uninviting employees and atmosphere. Very limited menu. They were out of 5 things we ordered. They made the wrong smoothie and then shrugged their shoulders and said it’s been chaotic, yet not even half of the tables were full. I’ll never return.

Small locally owned coffee shop nestled comfortable in downtown Morgantown. This is a favorite amongst locals and I can definitely see why. Very Austin, TX like with a strong hipster feel. Prices are fair and coffee is great. Their menu simply offers coffee, cakes, smoothies and bagels. They have a small selection of draught beers and sell items from local artists and artisans.

Great bowl of oatmeal with lots of fresh fruit. Very filling! Coffee was great, people were friendly, and there were plenty of menu options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They even have live entertainment some evenings. Great local vibe as well. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Nice quiet place, most of the time. The hot kitchen is no longer available for some reason. When it was available I ate breakfast there a number of times and it was uniformly good except for one time I ordered French toast and it was very disappointing. The WiFi is a lot more reliable than it used to be. It still gets knocked out by rainy weather, though, which I don’t understand. This is an old-style, independent, hippie-style place, if you like that kind of thing. I don’t happen to. Apparently there’s an open-mic talent night on Wednesdays that’s always pretty well attended. I’ve never gone so I can’t say. I have passed by many times during this event, though. It’s probably pretty good to judge from the enthusiastic participation. Everybody wants to be a star, of course. My two main beefs with this place that it tends to attract very loud people, especially academic people, professors and such. I hate having to stick ear-buds in my ears to block them out. My other beef is the expense of the coffee. $ 2 for a travel mug refill and $ 1 for each refill after that. I’m on a very limited budget and I can’t really afford more than $ 1 a day for coffee.

Blue Moose is one of a kind — it is the antithesis of a chain restaurant experience. First all of the coffee drinks(including the shakes) are wonderful as they should be for a coffee club. Come in a night and there is likely to be live music. The menu however is fairly limited and seems more limited now the in the past. The bagels and lox platter Is enjoyable for a quiet lazy Sunday. If you are chained out in Morgantown, stop by where. It’s worth at least one visit

Came back to Blue Moose after an intentional hiatus, determined to give it a second try. The taps were all frozen(it was 73 degrees outside); they were out of strawberries and mangoes; and even though I only wanted coffee, I had to buy a muffin to reach the $ 5 minimum on card purchases. I hate this because their muffins are not good. I dislike the minimum card purchase rule on principle — but I dislike it even more when the total comes to $ 4.97 and suddenly there’s no problem. The limit is arbitrary and absurd. I realize it costs money to have card accessibility, but just work the costs into the price like any other business. And if you’re going to make a ridiculous rule, at least enforce it. It’s like this place doesn’t even try. The apathy of its employees is remarkable, matched only by the haphazard stocking of their supplies. This is not the first time they’ve run out of things on their menu, and if I come back again, I’m sure it won’t be the last. I’ll hold to my original review sentiments: decent coffee, good music, and a true coffee culture environment. For all those positives, however, showing a little bit of concern for its patrons would go a long way in encouraging future business. I love local businesses and I want Blue Moose to do well. I really do. But I want them to put forth at least a modicum of effort. That would make a big difference.

Went here last weekend for brunch. Had a waffle, scrambled eggs, home fries, and toast. I thought the food was good but the one thing I have against the place is the cleanliness. I don’t know if it was do to the business on a weekend at brunch time, but it didn’t seem like any staff was managing the dining area, and pretty much every table was dirty. My friend and I just picked the least dirty and wiped it down with a napkin, but its seems like one of those places where you don’t want your silverware to touch the table because it just might hit a sticky or wet spot left from a previous customer.

After visiting his sister, the boy and I stopped by here for breakfast. We got a little lost following the GPS to the café and finding a parking spot, but were warmly greeted once we found the place. We ordered at the counter and sat on well-worn chairs. I had the belgian waffle, which came with fruit, and whipped cream which I requested on the side. The boy had the breakfast burrito, which he said was a little meat-heavy and could benefit from a little more egg or vegetable. But for $ 7, he wasn’t complaining too much. The ambiance is a little shabby but fits the space well. The staff was friendly and cheerful, and kept a constant chatter up with the regulars at the counter. This is a great little local café, and I imagine we’ll be back next time we’re in town.
