I was so impressed by the food that my party and I had. Everything was delicious and healthy and for a great price. The tea selection was also very good! Perfect lunch location!

I’m bumping ZenClay up to the Full Monty: the fantastic, fearsome, five-star review. If there’s anything I love more than small businesses, it’s small businesses who listen to their clientele. While I already loved ZenClay for its feng shui and coffee, I was a little disappointed by their 5pm closing time. I’d read other Unilocal reviews to the same effect. But now ZenClay is open from 7am-9pm Tuesday through Friday(still 7am-5pm on Mondays and Saturdays; closed Sundays). Be careful though: their daily specials can be absurdly expensive($ 15 – 20). They don’t advertise this fact, and getting charged $ 17 for Tikka Masala was almost enough for me to bump this back down to 4 stars. The food here is pricey in general, but at least the menu items usually fall under $ 10. The coffee’s still $ 1.86(tax incl) with free refills. In the spirit of ZenClay listening to their clientele, I would really like to suggest that they change their specials’ prices. $ 17 for a moderately-sized meal at a coffee shop? No thanks. But still, I love ZenClay — just that one problem is really disappointing. If you’re on the Evansdale campus, definitely give ZenClay a shot. It’s only a few minutes away. Put on your walking shoes, bring a book or your homework. Make the most of ZenClay, one of the local gems of Morgantown to be sure.

Come here specifically for the Spicy Lotus with bacon. The coffee is awesome along with the staff. Also get the snicker doodle cookie.

My 100th review. Woot! Went in this morning and got an iced chai and a bagel. Seems like they were kind of short on selection but the bagel was fine and the chai was kind of meh. The girl working the counter was friendly and helpful. Maybe I caught them on a bad day considering the more positive reviews. The place itself was clean and nice.

Great place for lunch, tea, coffee. Free wifi, quiet environment if you want to get work done, write, read, meet someone for lunch, etc. and not deal worth a huge, loud crowd. Baked goods are great. Tea is by far the best in town. Food is tasty and healthy. Service us usually slew, so leave your rush and efficiency expectations at work.

I absolutely love this place. Their scones are delicious and there are so many varieties of tea.

A nice spot to work, read, hang out — but I am particularly impressed by the food. Zenclay has some of the freshest, most flavorful cooking in Morgantown. Much of the food has a vaguely Asian feel — noodles, wraps, etc. — and you can really taste the ingredients — soy, ginger, spice. Service is always friendly and professional as well.

There is a large variety of good tea and vegetarian options. Although my boyfriend came with me and got a really good turkey wrap too. I like the moo-shu wrap, it’s something very different than I’ve ever had before but extremely delicious! There is a lot of asian inspired dishes, but they are really good!

Had lunch here for the first time today, and I love the place. Great food, clean, peaceful atmosphere, and plenty of soft natural light. I had the chicken portabella house special, which is a toasted pita bread topped with chicken and portabella mushrooms and their southwest sauce and a side of veggie chips. Also, they have a great selection of teas, I had the hibiscus but also sampled the rooibos, both of which I recommend. Seriously, the only thing about this place that disappointed me was their hours. They close at 5pm Mon-Thur, and 9pm Fri& Sat, so I won’t be able to use it for my evening study spot unless it is Friday or Saturday.

Good food. Unique dishes. Beautiful art. Poor service. Good place to study as a student and grab a quick bite and some coffee.

Went in at noon today. Cashier presented us with a filthy menu, explaining it was the only one they had. My companion and I ordered lunch, and presented a $ 5 coupon before we were rung up. The cashier failed to deduct the $ 5, and had to be asked to do so again. I asked for water, my companion ordered tea. He got his tea, but I realized after sitting for several minutes that my water wasn’t coming. When I went to the counter to get it, I overheard the cashier telling another customer that one of the items I’d ordered for lunch, sweet potato fries, was unavailable because their fryer wasn’t working. When I mentioned to the cashier that I had ordered the fries also, she just laughed and said, «Yeah, sorry.» At that point I cancelled my order and asked for a refund. She offered me a gift card — I didn’t feel like explaining that I couldn’t use a gift card because I wouldn’t be back, and asked for cash instead — I let them keep the coupon, because I won’t be needing it. Five minutes later, she came and asked my friend if he wanted to cancel his order too. He still wanted his. After all, why were we still sitting there? When his smallish $ 8 sandwich finally arrived, it was without a napkin or garnish of any kind. Zen Clay has a lovely atmosphere and good food, if you can get it, but this is the third time I’ve been there in the last six months when the service was completely unacceptable. What a shame.

I ate here yesterday for the first time and thought the food was great. Looks like a good place to study if you are a wvu student. Order at the front counter, sit down and they will serve you at your table. They have tofu options(although I had chicken) that sound fairly decent so I might give one of those choices a chance next time. Prices are around 11 bucks for a full lunch/dinner.

Best cappuccino in town! Great food choices. The Pesto quesadillas are very good. The food takes a bit long so definitely bring a book or a laptop with you because it’s worth the wait. The stuff is always pleasant. The downstairs gallery has wonderful work pieces to look at.

Zenclay recently changed management. The upside is that service is quicker, and it appears that the new menu has attracted more clients. The downside is that that the atmosphere has changed a bit(it’s less quiet) and they no longer have the coffee book where you could earn free coffee. However, the food is still good and the coffee’s great.

My first year in Medical School, ZenClay was my study haven away from home but, it is many things to many people in Morgantown. For some it is an office with free internet, served up with a side of turkey chili and fresh hewn bread. For others, it is a morning ritual of Peaberry coffee and often still-warm muffins bursting with seasonal fruit. Others still would call it a pottery gallery on top of a café on top of a pottery school next to another pottery and fiber gallery. But we would all agree that it is a meeting place central in the lives of those who may have expatriated from less football-centered towns.
