Holiday Inn Express Morgantown

Upon check-​in, we saw no employee standing behind the counter, but there was a sign for us to call a phone number for someone to come out. Within a couple of minutes, an employee showed up and checked us into our room. The room, pool, and hot tub were clean. The bed was comfortable. The shower pressure was strong. We had a separate section of our room that contained couches and a second TV – all for a low price. We enjoyed a free breakfast each morning. We had no problems with our stay.

This Holiday Inn gets 5 stars because of the BED! This bed was like a cloud! Seriously! The most comfortable bed I have EVER slept in!

Hotel was comfortable. NO closet in the room, so very motelish. breakfast was OK. My main conmplaint was that housekeeping did not service our room last Saturday. I mentioned this to the housekeeper who said that was her room, she thought the «privacy» fier was on the door… it wasn’t, we removed it at 9AM as we headed out for hiking

Nice hotel overall. Nice pool and hot tub. Pool was a little cold though. Shower pressure not that great! Restaurants within walking distance. Pancakes from 8-​midnight. Free breakfast!

The young man at front desk on Tuesday morning almost made me walk out he was not the most friendliest person. I loved my room and the pool and hot tub were fabulous felt very good after my three hour drive. That is halfway point to met my daughter from school. Next time I will book my room on line so I wouldn’t have to deal with that young man. The breakfast in the morning was awesome n the staff that day were very friendly.

Couldn’t be better! Wonderful beds in very nice rooms. A selection of restaurants within walking distance. Nice pool and hot tub. Incredibly friendly and helpful service and breakfast that included good coffee and protein.

I rarely complain about hotels. As long as there is a roof, bed, and plumbing then the hotel will get at least three stars. Unfortunately, our room had plumbing issues (no drainage or flushing) that could not be repaired and staff advised there were no other rooms available. Due to the late check-​in, the desk clerk said we could stay in the room for free or check out. After learning there were no other rooms available nearby, my family and I opted to use the lobby restroom to wash up and stay. Again, it was close to midnight when we were told the room could not be repaired. Things went downhill from here…
The next morning, we received a bill for the full price of the room. Believing this was just a mistake, I approached the shift manager who assured me it was no mistake. Clearly he must not have known the whole story or the severity of the plumbing issues, but he assured me that he understood exactly what the issues were and that the desk clerk lied when she offered the room for free. I kid you not, he even dismissed the fact we could not shower, wash our hands, or use the toilet, saying, «You can still have breakfast.»
The manager became snarky, refused to let me talk to their corporate office, and said I am not allowed to speak with his manager (later learned this was a lie). When we left, I called the corporate office myself and they issued a full refund.
In summary, the issues we had with the room were severe but the manager’s response and treatment was far worse.

I only give five stars in the event of perfection. Sadly, this hotel fails in two areas. The first is that one of their front desk staff is a complete tart (but all of the rest we dealt with were great). She was just an utter ditz and didn’t seem to have a clue about doing here job. The other was that the hot tub just wasn’t hot. You could do whatever you like, but the hot tub just wasn’t hot.
On the other hand, the government rate here got us a ridiculous room. A king-​bed suite with a sitting area and two TVs. Seriously?! The bed was also very comfortable and the property was very quiet. Not to mention the breakfast was delicious, I love me some cinnamon rolls!
