The pictures do not even match the inside of the unit. This is a poorly maintained Condo complex and needs lots of work. The carpets are full of stains and are coming up and dangerous if you do not pick up your feet. The nail heads are visible through the old linoleum. Wallpaper is coming off and the beds are awful. I know it is a golf course but the mowers and blowers start every morning at 7am. The dryer took 4 hours to dry clothes and with further inspection we found the vent needed cleaning out. We let the girl at the front desk know and she did not seem to care. Forget about WIFI when you check in they give you a note that you have to go to the lobby to use it. I wrote a constructive email to the president of the association and never received any response. I am going to post pictures of what the place really looks like.

I worked at the Lakeview fitness center, and have gotten to see the rooms and the overall experience at this hotel/resort. First comes the décor. Very old, has not been updated in years. Rooms are clean and spacious but missing many aesthetics like a flat screen tv or a minimalist look as it has large bulky TV sets. Bathrooms are old. Rooms need major updating. Food is very sub par– the sports bar legends is a good spot to get a bit of food in the facility. Service is better, the staff tries to deliver on service because they can’t do anything to make the resort look better. Indoor pool is kind of gross. This place pretty much relies on golf… That’s what they invest in, but they should focus on the hotel too. Fitness center is pretty nice for a hotel, I worked there so I have nothing bad to say about the facility.

Newly remodeled room? You said it like it was a good thing. Getting towels took an hour and three phone calls. Hot tub is scorching hot. Dangerously hot. Exterior doors not secure. If you get a $ 48 Priceline rate, you’ve still overpaid slightly. It’s a Travelodge with a golf course and a snooty past.

I am only writing on what I thought of the breakfast food. It was worst meal I’ve ever had in my entire life.(and I have had some real hum dingers) The breakfast buffet was so gross I can’t believe they actually think of this as food. They even charge 12 dollars for all you can eat cold scrambled eggs, crunchy pancakes(my guess is they are frozen and dethawed and the crunchy aspect was the freezer burn) bland bacon and all around barf worthy food. Even their omlets that they made in front of were disgusting… I only wish I could give this place zero stars…

Calling this place a «resort» is an insult to all of the resorts of the world. I have stayed a nicer red roof inns! The décor is as outdated as any place I have ever stayed, and the hotel(more like a motel) overall is outdated and really interresting to say the least. The Bar area and conf. rooms are very nice, and the staff in this area is great! If you are going to take a group of guys to party and play golf for a weekend, sure this may be your place, however for anything else I would find something else, the price point for the rooms was $ 159 per night, I would stay at the marriott and commute for this price. Also, maybe need some staff that can keep the redneck WVU fans from yelling at people in the bars as they support their hometown teams. I would overall find another place to stay than this place.

This is not a three star hotel although Priceline sells it as such. Think 1980’s Ramada Inn with a pretty lobby. Our room was small and clean with a bathroom with no fan vent to remove steam from the mirror. The TV was a 27″ tube TV that was blurry. Really. In the morning we wandered down to the lobby to find some coffee… 2 bucks a cup please. Really. I’m sure the golf and sports are fine but as an overnight stop, this was a dud. Go to a Ramada!

Calling this a «resort» is a stretch. While the fitness facility(not attached, but down the street) was phenomenal, the rooms were lackluster and outdated– old wallpaper, old furniture, dirty looking bedspreads. I ordered room service for breakfast, and only half of it arrived. The fruit on the fruit plate looked lovely, but tasted old. Lakeview is a letdown, which is a shame because Cheat Lake is so lovely. Do yourself a favor and stay in one of downtown Morgantown’s several Marriott properties.

I stayed at the Lakeview Resort during the middle of a cross-country move. I was planning on staying near Morgantown, and used a site where you can name your own hotel price. I got this hotel for well under what the rooms normally cost, and was excited when the resort came up as 3.5 stars on the website I used. When I got there I was disappointed. The room itself was pretty dated, and didn’t seem all that clean. The TV was ancient, and the AC/heater was one where the fan turned on and off to maintain the temperature. It was very loud, and I eventually had to turn it to just the fan setting, as it was hard to sleep with it going off and on. Another thing that I didn’t like was that the doors to the hallways of the hotel didn’t have any type of key or card entry on them, so basically anyone could just walk in. As far as I understood no free breakfast was offered either. Since I was only there to use the hotel and not golf or use any other aspect of the resort, I was pretty disappointed in the experience overall. As the hotel was in poor shape and a bit tricky to get to, if you are just passing through I would say that there are hotels closer to Morgantown that provide a better value for money.

Great location, front desk staff was great, and some of the best fitness facilities I have encountered(no extra charge). However, the hotel is what it is, an aging facility(with a labyrinth for a hallway system) and the parking lot and cramped parking lot entrance is a nightmare.
