Gary at Hughart’s Supply/​Fix-​It-​Man has no integrity. I grew up in the family plumbing business and usually do my own work, but I was short on time so we made an appointment with them and put my daughter in daycare so they could do the work. After we made several calls, a subcontractor finally arrived hours late to tell me their workday was over and I would have to reschedule. I was agreeable to that as long as they covered the additional daycare expense, but neither the front company nor the subcontractor wanted to be accountable for their screw up.
This is what happens when the company you hire does not actually do any work, but subcontracts it out in exchange for a cut of the charges. The result is higher costs and no quality control.
