Very good little Italian restaurant. If you want decent Italian food at a reasonable price, this is the best place I have found in Morgantown. As others have noted, portions are huge. The fresh pasta is great. I’ve had the carbonara and seafood Alfredo. The shrimp and scallops were average quality at best, nothing to write home about, but probably just as good as anywhere else around. The carbonara is a loaded pasta, and very cheesy! The service can get a little slow when they get busy. The pizza is also decent. I always get a tiramisu to go! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an Italian meal.

Had heard a lot about this place since moving to Morgantown. Finally had a chance to try it tonight. The pasta and garlic bread were delicious. However, the service and the salad left much to be desired.

This was my first time eating at this hidden gem in Morgantown, West Virginia, and I loved it. I went with three others, and were seated immediately, and a wonderful server named Josey came to our table, introduced herself, and her awesome attitude helped make the evening great! The food was delicious, served with generous portions, and was reasonably priced. The fifth star would have been given if the fried mushrooms had not been served with extra crispy french fries that were left over in the deep fryer. Other than that, it was a fun evening with family. I would recommend this place to anyone, if terrific casual local dining is what you are looking for when traveling.

I like Pugs. It’s a local favorite of mine and I’ve been going there for over 15 years. The atmosphere is kinda cramped and tight which I don’t care for but the food makes up for it. The starter bread loaf is the best I’ve ever had. The garlic and butter olive oil dipping sauce is decadent and incredible. Too much of it will make you fat quick but in moderation it’s a must have.

Small local business with good food & service. The best bread in town. I could just go and eat their bread loaf drizzled in butter and garlic it’s perfection! A must try.

The food is terrific and the service is great. Reasonable prices as well. Our favorite part is the willingness to work with us on my wife’s food allergies. They are very, very helpful. I have eaten all around the menu and have never been disappointed. The specials are creative and delicious. They get a little busy on weekends and I wish they were a little more efficient at seating promptly during those times… alternative is to order it to-go!!!

I love this place and the homemade pasta. This is one of my favorite sit-down restaurants in town that won’t break the bank.

The go to place for Italian in Morgantown. Whenever I have family and friends in town this is one of the first places I take them. As others have said every pasta except the angel hair is made in house, including a nice whole wheat rotini. The bread and homemade salad dressings are fantastic. Because everything is made in house the lunch menu is somewhat limited compared to the dinner menu. However, no one could eat some of the dinner pasta entrees pugs offers for lunch and function the rest of the day. The portions are huge and often times a to go box is necessary, but that is a plus in my book. The deserts are also really great. A must try in Morgantown.

This is a nice little Italian restaraunt; it’s good but nothing spectacular. It’s nice, quietish, and reasonably priced… If you’re in morgantown for a while give it a shot :)

Maybe this Italian food is good for West Virginia but if your from north jersey the food here is fair at best. The bread was the best part of the meal and that was like a small loaf of white bread soaked in garlic butter. The service was great the people were nice but the food was just not like Italian food back home. You have been warned.

The pasta is homemade, pesto is perfect, salads are good, and the bread is to die for. Depending on day and time, there can be an hour wait or you can be seated immediately. Either way though, Puglioni’s definitely worth it

My favorite Italian restaurant in town. From hot, buttery loaves of bread to creamy, indulgent pasta carbonara, it’s my carb heaven.

Awesome in-house made fresh pasta and pizza. Excellent service with courteous and attentive staff. It’s a cozy restaurant and is very popular, so expect a short wait. It is well worth it. They serve huge portions of pasta & fresh baked garlic buttered bread. I recommend the pasta carbonara or the lasagna. Delicious!

If you go here just for the bread I wouldn’t blame you. It is so good, fresh baked and all buttery. It’s hard to cut, but that is half the fun. I usually just get an appetizer and split an entrée since the portions are so huge, and that makes it really cheap too.

NOT allergy friendly! I came here last night with a few friends and inquired if they were able to accommodate my food allergies. The lady who spoke to me was extremely rude and was very, very agitated and outright nasty with her attitude when I had to specifically ask about certain ingredients — namely dairy by-products such as whey, casein, and lactose. A lot of Italian restaurants –both chain and local– are able to easily cater to dietary restrictions with a simple marinara and pasta dish or even a calzone with marinara and veggies. Heck, even the Mexican restaurant a few hundred feet are able to make multiple meals for me with my numerous food restrictions! Unfortunately, with the poor attitude and lack of customer service at this restaurant and my allergies, I do not recommend this restaurant to others who may have dietary restrictions(allergies, Celiac, vegetarian/vegan). I was pretty much told I could eat a salad and the lady pretty much yelled at me saying the calzone is made of flour and that she had no idea what I was saying when I mentioned the dairy by-products I have to be extremely careful about ingesting. Many times, there are a lot of ‘hidden’ by-products of common allergens that I have to be very careful about when eating out. Many restaurants around Morgantown have been extremely accommodating and amazing, even to the point a manager or the cook will come out to show me the ingredients themselves. With such poor service and a surly attitude, I can’t eat here with confidence and I really do not want to end up in the ER because of the ineptitude and lack of customer service when my life is on the line. However, I am sure the food is great(the restaurant was pretty packed) but for those who have dietary restrictions of any sort, I would steer clear from here.

One of the best authentic Italian restaurants in town. Bread they bring you is delicious. Sandwiches are par, but the eye-talian food(pizzas/pastas/lasagnas) are bangin’(aka delish).

I was here on business and dined here with a colleague. This place was recommended by a good friend who travels to Morgantown frequently(he, his wife, and both daughters attended WVU). Located in a downscale strip shopping center, impossible to see from the street. I was concerned when I pulled into the parking lot. Definitely downscale. Atmosphere is a bit run down but comfortable. I ordered pasta with pesto/cream sauce(made from scratch from basil picked each morning, according to the waitress), colleague ordered pasta with red clam sauce. Both of us enjoyed our salads and entrees. Mine was particularly flavorful. Service was highly friendly, fast. I felt like this was a family place, the clientele returns often, and everyone feels comfortable. I would definitely return here.

I love this place and go at least once every time we visit my in-laws in WV. The french fry salad is so yummy! and you can’t find better tomato basil salad dressing. The buttered garlic bread loaf is phenomenal. As others have mentioned the portions are large. The calzones are big and delish, you could easily get one to share. I’ve never had bad service, it’s always been prompt & friendly. Atmosphere is nice, good place to catch up with an old friend. Definitely try the french fry salad!
