Hands down my favorite place to stop for my caffeine fix. Not only do they have the best espresso drinks in town, they make amazing scones & muffins and great sandwiches for lunch! The staff and owner are incredibly nice and good people. I highly recommend!

I was travelling through Morgantown, WV and I wanted a good cup of coffee. Well, I found it here and driving up and down those hills to find it was fun too. It’s a pretty straight forward coffee shop, definitely not like the chains and that was what I was looking for.

Pretty relaxed place to visit and get a cup of coffee. It’s located close to the university and is frequented by a college crowd. I had a latte and a pecan muffin both were good

Sweet staff, delicious coffee, and exceptionally fair prices! I truly need to get downtown more and visit these folks. The only issue is parking, but that’s Morgantown for you! Seriously though, The Grind is a lovely coffee shop and a great local business!

Why Are You So Obsessed With Starbucks? The Grind is one of West Virginia’s most celebrated coffee shops. Experience their craft with a warm cup of dark roast coffee. Go there. You will love it.

The baristas were very courteous and they have some great skills. My maple latté was wonderfully crafted. The food is amazing. My wife had a muffin that was freshly baked and I had an egg and cheese sandwich on a roll that was sooo perfectly light and flaky.

Hands down best coffee around! I usually get a café mocha, always delicious & topped with a cute design. The lunch sandwiches are pretty tasty & fresh. Always a good idea.

Thanks Unilocalers! This café is a great little place in town. Good music, good coffee, good food! I had an iced maple latte which was delicious, and a breakfast sandwich on a kaiser roll which hit the spot!

We walked into this quaint place and knew exactly what to order! Thanks to fellow Unilocalers there was no doubt of what to order the the maple cappuccino was terrific! We loved it! Ideally we wanted to enjoy the the best thing on the menu and according to Unilocal it was. As you walk in you can tell this is definitely a staple here in Morgantown. I can only imagine the study groups that meet there:) they front end clerk was AWESOME so helpful as we weren’t sure what exactly the diff between a dark roast and a light roast, well he was very happy to enlighten us I would definitely go chill at this place on a day off and knock out some home work:) Wonderful atmosphere and great location This place gets two thumbs up from me and my boyfriend

A great little coffee shop in a friendly town. Fantastic place to grab a good lunch and do some work. It’s very near the WVU campus so it’s a good place to get a feel for the student population of Morgantown.

The only place outside of very fancy restaurants that I will get coffee from. The maple latte is my favorite. Sandwiches are good. Breakfast menu is light. They do run out of pastries by the time I roll out of bed, though. Also it’s right across from campus and is only metered parking.

— great little local coffee shop — they have a solid light or dark roast coffee, as well as light and dark espresso — several of their drinks are infused with real maple syrup — they have almond milk — free wi-fi — cheap parking right around the corner — friendly staff — highly recommend

The Grind is one of those coffee shops that makes me want to shift my whole schedule forward three hours. They close early, but that’s mainly so they can get up super early and make you some delicious baked goods(courtesy of the super cool Jessie G.). My only complaint is that they have nothing gluten-free to eat. I do believe that they have the best tea of any downtown coffee shop in Morgantown.

Great service, great karma and, more importantly, great food! Management has built on the great tradition of Jay’s Daily Grind, by building their sandwiches from fresh top quality products. My favorite lunch spot in Morgantown.

Jay’s is the highlight of Morgantown. The staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful. Their breakfast sandwich is phenomenal every single time!(And trust me, I get it probably 2 times a week every week, so the consistency of great flavor is never lacking) I have also tried 2 other sandwiches which were also great. I have probably had every flavor of muffin and cookie they have ever made and they are always uniquely crafted and just downright scrumptious. It’s my go-to spot, and it’s a must-visit type of place. Oh! One more thing, the prices are very reasonable, so us broke college kids can fit in some good food without destroying our wallets! :-) almost forgot the main thing… Drinks here! Haha their drinks are always delicious as well! I recommend basically anything they have.

I was very impressed with this small little coffee shop. Service was great, the people working at the desk were very affable and I enjoyed the conversation I had with them. They had fresh-baked blueberry muffins which is always a can’t lose proposition. And their Maple Latte was delicious(though I’m not quite sure maple syrup is the first thing that I associate with West Virginia). I also found the prices very reasonable!

The best coffee in town. Drip coffee and espresso are always tasty, as is my personal favorite the Lil’ Buddy. The staff are always cheerful and nice, and turn-around times are quite fast despite how busy it can get. You’re not going to find a better set of baristas in town, especially Rich. The food selections have improved quite a lot since ownership changed hands. They pride themselves on everything being fresh and made from scratch. Their baking crew does an amazing job with lots of unique & tasty muffins and scones. The lunch sandwiches are good, although there are occasionally some consistency issues in that department. For the price though, $ 5.75, you can’t beat it. One of my favorite local businesses to support.

Best coffee in Morgantown! This place knows how to brew and prepare real coffee and espresso. Their breakfast and lunch items are very good as well! I’ve had their soups, sandwiches, and salads countess times and have never been disappointed. I would recommend this café to anyone who enjoys real espresso and a nice, friendly atmosphere to go alongside!

The Daily Grind’s the place, it’s as simple as that. With Rick as the new owner, you are sure to have a great visit to this gem. The menu’s nothing fancy, but what they do, they do well. Sandwiches are $ 5.75 and include chips and a pickle. My personal favorites are the Poor Boy and the Dagwood, but there are a few other options to choose from. Another tip: you can request the sandwich on either their local-baked bread or on bagel(both are great options). Though under new ownership, the substance and spirit of the original«Jay’s Daily Grind» has been maintained. Even the décor, for the main part, has carried on in honorary tradition. Over the 2013 winter break, they updated the dining area with new tables, chairs, and a really helpful power strip along the window seats(a clutch addition for students looking to get some work done). That’s the Daily Grind in a nutshell: doing what they can to welcome you, feed you, caffeinate you, and motivate you. An hour here is good for the soul. Did I mention the coffee? These guys turn out consistently fantastic lattes, cappuccinos, and just regular ol’ joe. When I first moved to Morgantown, I was a little put off by the fact that in the afternoon, they sometimes served lukewarm coffee. However, after that initial experience or two, it never happened again. This is a local institution, a staple of the community, and the best coffee you’re going to get anywhere in Morgantown. Taste and see, my friends.
