Home Depot has a dog-friendly policy and that’s great… except when it’s not. I brought my dog in last night and there were 3 – 4 employees that were loving on her and she was being a great girl until one of their employees wasn’t watching where he was walking, nearly walked into my dog and then startled himself and my dog and jumped back. My dog thought he was playing and jumped up on her back legs and one of his paws TOUCHED the employee(Johnny). Johnny then freaked out and said that my dog bit him, tore his shirt and became very rude and told us we had to leave the store. I told him that my dog did not bite him, there was NO hole in his shirt as he was claiming(showing me his shirt saying there was a hole in it but there was obviously no hole). In the commotion of his ridiculous freak-out my dog started barking as this employee was acting completely irresponsible, rude and over reacting. I immediately took my dog out of the store to my truck and came back in and asked to speak to the manager. This happened in front of several other employees, none of whom saw my dog bite him as he claimed and thought the entire situation was ridiculous(they were JUST loving on my dog). Enter store manager Pat. I asked for her to bring the employee back so we could talk about it. She refused because she didn’t want to cause a scene(understandable). She went and talked to the employee and came back and said that the employee did have a hole in his shirt and that he was bit. I asked her to pull video footage and show me. She said that she was standing by the other end of the store(at the service desk), heard the barking and looked down and saw my dog jumping on him and believes that he was bit. First, she had the sequence of events wrong. Second, other employees were standing right there and no one saw the dog bite him as he claimed. Third, her side of the story from across the store somehow trumped my story, and the other witnesses that were right there. She told me I didn’t have to leave and that on another day my dog could come back but not on that day. She refused to pull video footage so I could show her what happened because she said she’d have to take my info, which I offered. She said that employee Johnny had been attacked by dogs and that he has previous trauma and that he didn’t like dogs. I asked why, if that was the case, he put himself in such close proximity to my dog, then provoked my dog by freaking out and jumping back, then yelled at me and told me to leave the store. I asked why, if he was truly bit(which he was not) he didn’t ask her to get my info. I asked what training he had if there was such an aversion/fear/phobia of dogs he’d received if he is working in an environment that has an open-dog policy and she offered no answer and asked me why I was making a big deal about this. Wanted me to just drop it. This could have easily turned into a serious situation/lawsuit/injury for any of the parties involved. Dog bites are serious allegations and can have serious consequences. Allowing her employee to lie about it, cause a scene, and then try to sweep it under the rug and tell me that my story was not accurate… this is why I was upset. I want this employee to be trained on proper behavior around dogs as he has obvious issues with dogs or for there to be a avoidance policy that he is required to follow. For him to cause this situation and for the manager to not have any plan other than kicking my dog out of the store and taking him off the floor while he «collected himself» is ridiculous. I wanted documentation, I wanted review and I wanted a resolution that included training for this employee and her answer was ‘no’ and ‘my employee isn’t going to just stop being afraid of dogs’. After she walked away, the two employees that were closest to the event came back to me and said ‘you can bring your dog back in and let me love on her anytime. She’s a sweety.‘ I should have left the store, but I was desperate to get this project going. The employees that were talking(and taking sides) with Johnny were later asked, by me, for assistance and refused to help. They had not seen the event but only became aware of what happened after by going to the front when I was talking to Pat. The employees that refused to help me were Dennis(hardware) and Roy or Troy(couldn’t tell because his beard was so long it covered half the ‘r’ on his apron. Someone called Dennis to try to help me at one point and Dennis said he was with a customer and couldn’t help. Later I saw Dennis in between customers and he specifically avoided me. I asked Roy or Troy for help and he shrugged his shoulders and said«I don’t know» and kept walking. Several other employees also avoided me as I was standing, obviously needing help, looking bewildered, pacing back and forth between aisles. Once I got out of the hardware/lumber area where this all happened, I finally had a more normal interaction and Rob from flooring ended up being a huge help.

I popped in here to get some fireplace tools that were in stock at this location. I swear, this place was packed in the middle of a Tuesday with the parking lot filled! The greeter pointed me right to my purchase, I picked it up and was out the door in like 5 minutes flat. It was a good experience!

This is certainly one of Home Depot’s best. Their employees have helped me out a ton.

My local Home Depot. Customer service is great here, biggest flaw is usually items being out of stock while their website says else wise. Parking lot is big, food stand outside and overall very clean and bright inside the store. I’m happy with them and will continue to use them for all my household needs.

$ 110 to rent a stump grinder that wouldn’t grind stumps — not even pine stumps. Very dissappointing.

This place is awesome. As soon as we walked in, a sales associate asked if we needed help and pointed us to a right direction. We linked up with John(plumbing/electrical dept) who went out of his way to assist us… Actually, he took his time and thought us how to install a toilet. This store is very clean, quite and organized with friendly staff. The best HomeDepot around! THANKYOU, John for your help; you rock!

Perhaps it is on the days that I visit but I have always found a staff and service desk to be very helpful and friendly. it is a consistently clean store and it is a place that I can find the selection I need for the items I am looking for on my trip. I would highly recommend this store for anyone that needs the variety offered by a big box store.

The management need to train their heads and employes, the plumbing dept doesn’t know crap about plumbing . And when I ask a question about something don’t tell and I quote«What you see is what we have» I ask about a certain product they have and the Home depot person can’t help me or get a person who can. Every employee walks around like a zombie. Thank God for Ace hardware, I found my plumbing needs there.
