First let me qualify the 5 stars. I felt it warranted something better than 4 stars and that’s what’s left. We moved to Tennessee from Hawaii and are used to some pretty outrageous sushi and sashimi. That being said, this place adjusted for it’s distance from the ocean and inability to obtain fresh seafood does the best it can. I have seen references to the price of dinner causing sticker shock and to that I say if you ever plan on visiting Hawaii you might take out a second on your home to pay for fresh sashimi in some restaurants. This is a buffet and as such no one expects fine wine and a French waiter. They have plenty to choose from and most of it is better than fair. The hibachi bar is something I have yet to tackle as I always fill up on sushi and have to call it quits. In Morristown, it’s a good choice.

They advertise 250 items on the buffet, but unless they are counting individual ice cubes, there’s about 100. Of course to get to 100 items I had to count each individual ice cream flavor as a different item. As far as individual entrees go, there’s about 50 different things to choose from, plus the hibachi grill. What the did have was hot and tasty, but don’t expect Asian food. Most f what they offer is American food like pot roast, French fries and buffalo wings. Here’s a tip… Pig out on shrimp and sprouts and you’ll cost them more than they charge. Otherwise be prepared for a little sticker shock. One last thing, kids roam free with ignorant parents who don’t stop them from touching food. Do not envelope think about the ice cream. If you do, make sure your that you are current on your immunization shots. I am, so I eat.

I was traveling along 81 starving and decided I was hungry for sushi. Overall, Asku is a typical Asian buffet. Don’t expect a lot. My meal and a sweet tea cost $ 10.08. The thing that turned me OFF is that after I ate my sushi I noticed the sushi maker was NOTWEARINGGLOVES, it left a bad taste in my mouth. The egg drop soup tastes nasty… WAYTOOMANYEGGS. They don’t accept American Express.

I really like it here. The staff is very kind and efficient. The sushi is by no means amazing, but really good. I find that they keep everything fresh. They have a wide variety of things to try. My favorites are the rangoons, fried dumplings, and coconut shrimp. I also noticed that they are meticulous with keeping things clean. Remind you(and other reviewers) that this is not five star dining, it’s a buffet, but a good one in my book.

I have traveled all over the US. Eaten at many Asian restaurants, and this is one of my favorites! The hibachi bar is amazing, sushi is always fresh, and tasteful, and the bar is well stocked with the usual. My family eats out on a regular basis, and Asuka, is top on the list of places we go. Definitely one of the best restaurants in this small town!

This is our fave restaurant in Morristown. Great hibachi grill with chicken steak and shrimp! Nice buffet selections and a yummy sushi bar. All for a good price.

I’m not a pretentious eater. I go to McDonalds on purpose. I’ll eat gas station food, as long as it isn’t too scary/growing things. I pick stuff up off the floor and give it a look-over before deciding if I should give it a chance(and I usually do). That said, Asuka is bleh. I get it — Morristown has very few choices for dining in the first place, so when you look at its competition, you’re kind of lacking in choice. We don’t have many great Asian places, but Hosabi Kitchen(across from Ingles and Big Lots) is at least decent, and has nice servers. If you’re really wanting Asian food, and you don’t want to drive far, head to Hosabi Kitchen. If you want to punish your body, read on. I’ve been to Asuka three times, and that probably points to an urge to commit self-harm. I’ve been to greasy Asian buffets across the country, and while the award for the most horrifying still goes to Tops in Morristown(which I believe was shut-down in order to prevent a zombie outbreak), Asuka isn’t much better. The only difference is — I have yet to see a cockroach here. Nearly everything here is greasy, and not in the good ‘man, that was a greasy hamburger’ way, but in the ‘I think my intestines are so lubricated I may crap out my internal organs’ way. The sushi is questionable, warm, and has an off taste to it that I can’t even begin to describe. The price, as I recall, was between 9 – 10 dollars overall, for the buffet, and entirely not worth it. The last time I went, my friend(who should have a stomach of steel, by this time) got sick. If you’re constipated, and don’t want to bother with fiber, Asuka may be your best bet. If you want something edible, just… just don’t. Please.

My husband loves the buffet, like it is going out of style. I don’t mind eating here, since they have nigiri sushi and rolls avaialble. It is nothing fancy, but also, not bad. They are pretty good about refilling our beverages. This is pretty close to the community college campus, so a good place to go on a lunch break.

Went with my sister, her husband and some close friends for dinner. A very nice atmosphere with a roomy front dining area. Our group was large so we were seated in a smaller rear room. Before it was Asuka the building used to be a Ryan’s Buffet. I think the room we were in was one of the old smoking dining rooms. It smelled a bit musty, not terrible just a little stale. Now that Tennessee is a nonsmoking state(YEAH) they need to clean or change the carpet. The sushi bar was well stocked and very fresh. A well rounded salad bar and ample choices on the buffet pleased everyone. No one in our group tried the hibachi grill, but it looked well stocked and was being used by other customers. I was pleased to see the buffet had 2 different broiled fish choices, salmon and flounder. The waitstaff was attentive and polite. Overall I enjoyed it very much and will go back.
