I love this place! Ask John Lin what fresh seafood they have or fresh vegetables. During the season some comes direct from his garden. Otherwise if you order off the menu it’s just standard Chinese menu. He’s got fantastic fresh seafood oysters, softshell crab, fresh fish, sometimes he catches the fish himself from the jersey shore the same day. Try the Taiwanese sausages. Don’t be afraid of the eclectic Décor. If you order the catch of the day you will not be disappointed.

Things were just ok here. Nothing in particular stood out food-wise, though the service was decent.

The food here was disappointing. The chicken was chewy and not good quality as well as the beef. Crab rangoons had no filling and egg rolls were in about an inch of oil and soaked with grease.

This is a fantastic place to eat. There is a large variety of Chinese, Vietnamese and Taiwanese dishes to select from. My wife and I had a difficult time choosing a meal as the menu selection was quite extensive. The food was very well prepared and served in a very timely manner. The meal portions were plentiful and tasty. As I was told, it is a family-owned restaurant. The family members we encountered were very friendly, patient, helpful and eager to serve with the best customer service. It’s a small restaurant with a modest, cozy setting. Did I mention the food is fantastically awesome?

I love Lin’s when I’m in town. Highly recommend their pork buns and the steamed dumplings as well as their taiwanese sausage dishes.

Do not walk in here expecting an intimate, upscale, or even polished dining experience. Simply expect delicious, perfectly seasoned, bold and savory Chinese food, brought together by the flavorful spices and sauces that infuse the dish and blend it together. I’ve had their dumplings, beef with broccoli, rice, and I am sold: everything is balanced, textured, and satisfying. I can’t wait to explore the rest of their menu.

The portion is large, and the food is authentic. The owner and the waitstaff were very friendly.

Friendly service when I sat down. That’s it. All down hill from there. Empty restaurant, yet all 3 members of staff sat there folding napkins. Attentiveness was no where to be found. 10 minute wait for someone to walk over, ask how everything was, etc? For an empty restaurant? Unacceptable, no matter what level of dining experience you are expecting. Granted, I wasn’t expecting much here, so I guess no loss. Fried dumplings were average. No creative presentation. Served on an old plate that has probably been washed 3x a day since 1942. Pork filling was not attention grabbing. These dumplings are the ones you eat late night, after drinking 300 beers. rice noodle dish? Boring, and flavorless. Service is critical in my opinion. That critically failed today for me. I will continue to drive by this place going forward.

Best Taiwanese food in NJ/NY! I live in New York City where you can find Taiwanese food easily in Flushing, but Chef Lin offers up his home-grown vegetables(including hard to find white bitter melon and luffa) and homemade Taiwanese sausage, Spanish mackerel in thick soup. The Yilan style fried pork was also great. Chef Lin also sells some of his signature foods at nearby Chinese language schools on a regular basis.

Best place in the area for authentic Taiwanese food. But they also have Chinese American style cuisine and sushi for those not famine with Taiwanese food. But if you’re willing to try some Taiwanese food, you’re in for a treat, especially the Grilled Taiwanese Sausage with garlic slices, the stinky tofu and the fish ball soup. The owners seem to be great people and are very friendly. We will be back.

Lin’s Palace is a homey little restaurant that serves Chinese and Taiwanese dishes. We were here for lunch and ordered mostly from the Taiwanese menu We found the dishes to be pretty authentic. We had: — steamed pork dumplings — fresh and homemade — scallion pancake — good, standard — oyster omelet pancake — one of the better oyster pancakes I’ve had. Oysters were good(not fishy/oystery). However once it cooled it got a bit gelatinous. — noodle soup with ground pork — tasty homey dish, something the in-laws would make I believe our server was the manager(owner?) and he was very friendly. He really wanted us to try the homemade Taiwanese sausage and wrapped sticky rice but we were too full. We vowed to return.

Okay so because of the amazing quality of this food I’m just going to say that as long as you’re vigilant about seafood pricing, this place is a MUST. Had the Taiwanese sausage and fish ball soup again, but this time added in the shrimp roll(don’t know the english name but see photos) and the sticky rice(ba zhang), freshly made and amazing!

Five stars for the effort of preserving Taiwanese flavor and providing genuine service. The food itself I would rate 4.5 stars. We visited this place by accident, but it turned out to be one of the best Taiwanese food we can find now in Jersey. This place highly preserved some of the southern Taiwanese flavor and night market dishes/snacks. Which is really a plus! At first, this place seemed sketchy from the outside, seems like a typical Chinese take out place. We were just passing by Morristown on a Sunday night and were hungry because it was dinner time. As soon as we walked in, we were being greeted property and taken to our seats. We ordered oyster omelette, stinky tofu, shrimp roll and spanish mackerel soup(土魠魚羹): –Oyster omelette: was in large portion and was cooked very well with a little crispy on the bottom. –Stinky tofu: I have to warn you this dish really smells stinky! Which is actually very authentic, and the taste was really good as well. It comes with the Taiwanese style kimchi just like any night markets. But it would be better if they could have provided spicy sauce to come with it. –Shrimp roll: crispy crust with fresh shrimps inside. –Spanish mackerel soup(土魠魚羹): I was amazed to see them offering this local Tainan dish, but the taste was just ok for me. Wouldn’t recommend. The owners were very friendly to us. After they found out we understand and could speak a little«Hokkien»(台語)(another language that is being spoken in Taiwan instead of Mandarin), they gave us extra appetizers, peanuts, sausages and fried squid! For those of you that don’t speak Hokkien, maybe next time you can try to say«hello» as «jia-ba-vui»(吃飽沒) to the owners and maybe they will give you extra stuff too. We chatted with the owners and they told us all their history of those old days working in Kaohsiung’s seafood restaurant(海霸王), the days they got off the boat to USA, and how they open this store for 30 years. It was really a interesting night and they even offered us to have some red wine at the end! After we finished our dinner, we also ordered sausage fried rice, rice noodles and stir pork with bamboo for take out. I just tried them today and they were all worth ordering. We are also interested to try their budda jumps wall(佛跳牆) next time(need to cal them in advance for special ordering). To sum up, this place offers excellent Taiwanese snacks with great seafood quality and roots of Taiwanese spirit.

The outside doesn’t look like it and isn’t the most inviting but once you step in, this is yours: Tasty and honest, Asian food; Many menu options; Great service from a friendly, sweet and fun lady Eclectic mix of Asian décor Fast service Not a classy or upscale type of place for fine dining but better than any fast food or casual options around it

I like this place. If you’re looking for a traditional Chinese/Taiwanese place to dine, this is your restaurant. It’s not the fanciest or the best furnished, there’s no glitz and it’s not modern, but it is traditional! I found it charming :) They will have dishes that you won’t be able to find at other chinese restaurants, especially in Morristown. My boyfriend and I ordered Taiwanese noodle soup, bean sprout vine/dou miao(my fave vegetable dish) and stir fried vegetable noodles. They were all very flavorful although a bit salty. Will visit again :) thanks for the wonderful food and warm service

Lin’s Palace is my new go-to for Chinese. Order off the Taiwanese style menu and you MUST get the«special fried rice with garlic and sausage.» It’s not like any fried rice you’ve ever had. Big delicious chunks of the taiwanese sausage, aromatic and flavorful onions and scallions, and the perfect garlic punch in every bite. Magnificent. Also delicious are the scallion pancake and salt and pepper chicken(«chicken with peppercorn salt» on the men).

Soo let’s start off with the awesome fact that Mr Lin delivered the food himself, and as he chitchatted on the front porch, the delightful smell of his food filled our house. Delivery with a smile-this is the beginning of a great relationship. The food is fresh and delicious! Looks like we’ve found a replacement to the Hunan room. We ordered: From the Chinese menu –boneless ribs: none of that red 6 glazed on crap from this place, no sir! Perfect tender ribs with a gravy like sauce. De.light.ful –vegetable egg roll: wow. Crispy. Not oily. What a vegetable spring roll should be, although I do find myself wishing for a little more vegetable variety inside. Still, yum. –beef & broccoli: crisp broccoli, a nice light sauce and tender, good meat. This is my tester dish for new spots. Passed with flying colors. From the Taiwanese menu: –Taiwanese sausage: a sweet and delicious sausage that reminds me of glazed ham. Very aromatic, and it’s flavorful reputation is well deserved. –noodle soup with pork & pickled cabbage: reminiscent of wanton soup, but better. A balanced broth, perfectly salted, full of greens with a slight sourness that complements the savory pork. We definitely recommend Lin’s!

5 Stars for the Taiwanese Sausages for sure. I don’t know how they make it but it’s definitely just like the ones I’ve had in TW and probably the best ones I’ve had here in the US. Like most of others I’ve came here after hearing how authentic their Taiwanese menus are and on my way to High Point Park finally had a chance to stop by and try for myself. Other dishes that I’ve got: Stinky Tofu: Pretty good and definitely authentic but I had hoped they had spicier sauce haha I think I’ve acquired a spicier taste recently Oyster Pancake: Very good and they are very generous with the sauce as well as veggies, I would recommend this as well if you like fried eggs. Fishball Soup: Quite nice but I thought was bit expensive for a 6 pieces of fish balls around $ 9 Minced Pork Rice: Not bad but I felt it was bit dry. Overall it was a pretty decent meal although I felt it was bit more expensive than I expected, I think because of the location and not really anywhere close could offer an authentic TW meal experience the price adjusts according :-) The staff were very friendly however and location was good right on a busy road near the town center. I most likely won’t be coming back just for this place but if I’m ever treking out would definitely make a detour to stop by again to have their delicious sausages again.
