This salon is definitely the best in the area. Beautiful décor and friendly staff as well.

very poor customer service. I first started my hair cut with one guy, then his friend came in and he left, started to wash and cut his friends hair while leaving me just waiting… Another girl came to cut my hair 10 minutes later. However, many interruptions where the hair stylist left to check out customers, answer the phone. Will not be going back there again. Place is not clean either.

While I was very impressed with the salon upon arrival, as I was getting my eyebrows waxed another beautician came into the room and said there was a customer in a rush to check out. At that point in time, the woman doing my eye brows rushed the last few minutes and subsequently burned a portion of my eyelid(not even my eyebrow). Though she did a very nice job shaping and cleaning up my eye brows, I find it very inappropriate to be interrupted because another customer needs to rush to check out. I will not be going back there.

First off, I’m not at all a moaner(check my other reviews — most are positive or forgiving) but I had to give this place a bad review. I’ve just come home from the worse hot stone massage ever. I’ve had a few hot stone massages in my life, although not so many in the US — mostly overseas where they are more affordable, but the people at Monark do not know what they are doing. Firstly, the hot stones are far too hot — one of them actually burnt my back and when I told the masseur it was too hot he/she put it on a wet towel so it just felt like a clammy wet heaviness on my back. I also didn’t like the sneaky way a female started and finished but 5 minutes into the massage they sneaked in a male to do the work, and then 10 minutes before the end, she came back in again. I don’t have a problem with male masseurs at all, but I don’t like the way the salon crept him in and then out again before the end of my hour. How did I know? Well, I saw her sandals and then his brogues(which I checked on my way out as he was busy cutting a client’s hair). I was able to ‘spot the difference’ because I didn’t have my eyes closed as I was way too uncomfortable. The table felt like a piece of concrete and the hole where I was supposed to place my head was roughshod and rubbed against my chin and forehand. It wasn’t at all padded like most tables/beds. I still have a red rash on my chin, and my boobs feel like they’ve been squashed and beaten. I didn’t have a pain in the neck when I walked in but now, an hour later, it feels like I’ve been lifting heavy weights. Fortunately, I bought the massage as a deal on living social so I paid half price for it. I know they ‘prefer’ that clients tip on the full amount but I just gave the rude receptionist a $ 20 note on the way out and when she told me there was a $ 3.50 tax due too, I told her to take it from the $ 20. I was tempted to tip nothing but it’s not in my nature to do that. All I know is I won’t go back, and if this review helps someone make a decision to not use the salon, then I’m satisfied… Sidenote: I’m often disappointed with the Living Social salon/spa deals. In my experience, Salon’s that are battling to get business discount their service to get more clients in, and then give the client a mediocre service either because it’s already paid for or discounted or because they are just a crap business to begin with. Surely, logic is to give a Living Social/Groupon holder a better service so they come back and pay full price for other services! Just sayin’

First, why aren’t there more reviews?! I checked them before trying this place… and took a chance. So glad I did! I was a walk-in customer asking for a haircut. All I knew was that I was discontent with my hair ever since I got a body wave a couple months ago… so to walk out so pleased was pretty much a miracle. The owner, Tanya, was great with me. She asked the right questions & listened to me. I walked away with a modern & stylish stacked bob with bangs. I am so happy and the price was so reasonable! Definitely going back there to sample more services.

I had the worst shellac manicure here. It wasn’t dry when the manicurist was finished(the reason I got the shellac instead of regular). She barely put any lotion on my hands after, probaby because she realized it was still wet. The polish on one nail peeled off the next day. I went back and got it fixed. They were very nice about fixing it. Two days later the polish on all of my nails peeled off. It was 30 dollars for a manicure that lasted about a week. Shellac should last 2 weeks, mine have lasted 3 weeks at other salons. Will not be going back.

The staff here are extremely friendly and professional. I LOVE coming here for anything I need done — hair, nails, eyebrows… they really do a great job on everything. And for Morristown, its quite reasonable! Will definitely continue coming here!

Very nice salon. Clean & modern. I got an amazing pedicure & was very impressed with the staff. I am quite particular about waxing but the cleanliness of the facility reassured me. I got my eyebrows waxed & they look great! Will definitely be going back to Monark.
