Went to this restaurant based on reviews. Sorry, I cannot agree. My lunch was the worst Thai food I’ve had. I ordered the Hot and Sour soup and Masaman Curry with Chicken. I did not finish. The taste had a chemical-like back taste.

C&T Wok is one of those places where I don’t understand why so many people love it so much. I’ve been there at least 6 times, and I’ve been disappointed all but one time. They have messed up my order twice giving me a completely different dish and they never check on their customers, so I had to flag someone down which took 20 minutes one of those times. So by the time I got my new dish, everyone at my table have finished eating and I had to just take it to go. I still remember the Pepper Steak lunch from over ago being so chewy that it hurt my jaw and I gave up eating it. Their food quality is very poor and it makes me question what I’m really eating. It’s probably hormone-filled chicken and at best Grade D beef. My college had Sodexo delivery trucks that said, «Grade D beef, but edible» on the side of them and Sodexo meat tasted better than C&T Wok’s. Finally, you should check out their health inspection ratings. There is some scary stuff listed on there. They have been dinged over and over again for keeping raw meat over prepared food. They also use food without expiration dates. So if you’re ready for some food poisoning, give it a try. For me, I’d rather go to almost any other Chinese restaurant.

I will drive 40 minutes to get here for my Chinese food craving. It’s a Szechuan place, which means that the best dishes are the(slightly more) spicy ones, like the beef and tripe in chili oil and the fish in the szechuan chili oil. My friends and I also like the non-spicy ones, though, like the stir fried green beans and the Chinese meatballs with mushrooms. Other than those above, another one of my favorites is the shredded tofu with preserved youchoy. The fish comes with a lot of tofu though, so unless you want to have a tofu feast(made that mistake twice), I’d suggest ordering only one of the two. One downside is that the servers won’t tell you if you’re ordering something in a huge amount(like the fish coming with tofu, and it’s not stated explicitly on the menu so you don’t know). So it always pays to ask before hand if a dish comes with anything not listed on the menu. The food comes out piping hot and pretty quickly, so you won’t be hungry for long. I guess it’s obvious from what I wrote already, but order from the authentic menu. You will be so much happier.

Had a pickup order from here. Order was just ready when i arrived(on time). Service was quick and easy. Food was on point and enjoyed it very much, it seems like it is not in a busy shopping center, but that could be the case for many areas in RDU, Hope to try them again soon!

This is the place my family goes for food whenever my mom doesn’t feel like cooking her own, which should say a lot about its authenticity. Best foods are obviously at the back of the menu with the Chinese words. The spicy fish fillet is a favorite, but try everything! I haven’t really had many of the cold dishes/apetitizer or the soups, though the diakon and clam soup is pretty good. I wouldn’t really recommend the Thai stuff, it tastes okay but a little off(not as flavorful).

This place definitely lives up to the high Unilocal reviews. My sister and I came here for lunch and everything in the lunch menu was $ 6.50 which is a really good deal. They have a three choices of soup which are tom yum, egg drop, and hot and sour soup. My sister got the sesame chicken which was really good. I got the mapo tofu; I really do not recommend this dish — the flavor of the sauce was not very good and my tongue started to get the numb the more I ate it. I’ve had way better mapo tofu at other places. We also got the eggplant in the garlic sauce to go for my husband and he loved it. I also had a taste and it had very good flavor. I think I liked everything about their food except the mapo tofu. The service was good and our food came out very quickly. Would definitely recommend this place for lunch.

Just thinking about C&T Wok leaves me salivating and speechless. This place is my favorite Chinese place, ever. It’s casual, cheap, and authentic — what’s not to like? The wait staff is always polite and attentive, the food is consistently amazing, and you get large portions that make sharing easy. I always get the spicy lamb with peppers and cilantro off of their schezwan menu(#13). It sounds like a weird combination, but it’s so delicious. I also enjoy any of the Salt & Pepper schezwan seafood dishes. Honestly, you can’t really go wrong here.

On my recent road trip from Atlanta to Boston, my travel companion and I decided to make a lunch stop in Durham. We were craving some good Asian food, since we had been indulging in plenty of BBQ and fried chicken for the past couple of days. My friend who lives in the area recommended this restaurant, and it was just what we needed! It’s a little Chinese restaurant located in a shopping plaza, so you’ll have no problem finding parking. They have lunch specials Monday-Friday 11am-2:45pm for only $ 6.50! You can choose either a Chinese or a Thai dish and you have a choice of a few soups. I opted for the Szechuan twice cooked pork belly with rice. My friend ordered the kung pao chicken with fried rice, and we both got wonton soups. We also ordered one of the noodle dishes to share. All of the food was pretty good, but in the pork belly dish, I felt like the spice overpowered any other flavor from the pork belly itself. There were also way more veggies than pork belly, but still tasty nonetheless. Overall, I was satisfied with my lunch at a very affordable price!

I stumbled into this place when Taste Vietnamese a few doors down was closed(I think it was a Tuesday). At first I was disappointed but afterwards, I’m so glad we stumbled in. I was apprehensive at first when I saw coffee chicken/shrimp on the menu but after reading reviews of other Unilocalers raving bout how good it is. I just had to try it! It definitely did not disappoint and is rather addicting. Their spicy crispy fish is very good too. Very tender and juicy on the inside and perfectly fried on the outside. Great mom and pop business. Support local!

One of my son’s FAV places to go for Asian food. We went at lunch time. They have $ 6.50 lunch specials that include your choice of soup. I had the egg drop soup. It was good. There isn’t much to egg drop soup. My son had the hot and sour. He enjoyed it. I had the chicken pad thai. It was good. I ordered it spicy and it hit the mark there. Kinda greasy… next time I would ask them to use less oil in the prep. It was a HUGE portion. I got a box first thing and put away half of it. Two people could easily eat from this portion. The pad thai flavors were definitely there. I was kinda surprised to see a lemon wedge on the side. I guess they ran out of limes ?? I would go back and try a Chinese lunch item.

Came her to dine on a Saturday afternoon and ordered take out lunch via phone. I ordered the shrimp and broccoli lunch special. According to the young lady on the phone, their lunch specials are only available as takeout on weekends, which worked out great for me. When I walked in to see the packed house, I understood why. The lunch special typically comes with 1 of 3 soup choices but I wasn’t in the mood for soup(I would come to regret this later). When I came in, I asked if I could receive a discount for not getting the soup or have something else instead. She completely rejected the discount and said she would see if I could substitute. She came back with a fried spring roll. Which I thought was fair enough. I’ll be honest and say this meal was a disappointment after all of good reviews I’d read about this place. The spring roll was ice cold though it had good flavor. The shrimp and broccoli had a great ginger flavor but the portion was chintzy at best with only about 4 shrimp and 8 broccoli florets. I was charged $ 1.50 extra just for the shrimp!!! They were generous with the rice but honestly, what Chinese restaurant isn’t?! I loved the flavor but honestly it wasn’t worth the nearly $ 9 price and subpar service. I can’t say I’ll be back. Which is sad! I really wanted to like this place!

Decided to stop in because friends had said this was some of the most legit Asian food in the Triangle. We ordered mapo tofu and salt and pepper squid. The mapo tofu was good, but quite spicy with a heavy hand of the Sichuan peppercorns. My husband liked it a lot… I thought it tasted good but couldn’t eat too much because it was so spicy my mouth felt numb! The squid was really good! It was nicely fried and crispy on the outside and sweet and tender on the inside. I would be curious to try their other food but seems like pretty authentic Sichuan food!

Really good solid Chinese food. I’ve never eaten their Thai selections, but I have tried their Chinese entrees. I can see why this place is such a crowd favorite. It’s in a nondescript strip mall, and the décor is reminiscent of a seedy chinese place – nothing fancy here! But I think that’s another reason why everyone who works in the area flocks to this little gem: its unassuming interior makes it feel more authentic. And that’s where I have some issues. I think their food is great, but the szechuan portion of the menu that i’ve tried seems a BIT toned down. The food doesn’t have the signature szechuan pepper taste. And the mapo tofu isn’t spicy at all! Still good, but not the real deal. I can’t speak for the rest of the chinese menu, but the few that I’ve had, just didn’t seem quite right. Hey, but the portions here are huge. I usually split one entrée with my boyfriend there’s still leftovers.

Come to C&T Wok if you want delicious Chinese food. C&T essentially has three types of Chinese food. The first section is Chinese-American favorites that you generally can’t get in China like General Tsao’s [insert meat here], Orange Chicken, and Mongolian [meat]. The second is Thai food, which I didn’t see anybody ordering. The third section is Schezwan style, famous for its spicy hot flavors. The atmosphere is wonderfully divey for those wanting the real Chinese experience — worn out lumpy booth seats, stuff stuck to walls with packing tape, air-conditioning facing missing, worn out tables, and signs spelling in wonderfully broken English. This is a good thing in my book. Service is culturally appropriate like you’ve sat down in a restaurant in Chengdu. That is — very functional. No smiles. Lots of pointing and gesturing. Menus and tableware dumped on tables. And depending on who takes your order, may be in Mandarin. Perhaps nearly two decades of living in Asia has made this very normal to me, but I like that my waitress was no nonsense. Everyone there is busting their humps serving the customers. Service is very fast. So if you’re the type to get your feelings hurt because you didn’t get a smile, go to Panda Express. I have a guide, which I like to think as human nature. If you go into a Mexican restaurant and there are lots of Hispanics there, it’s probably the real deal. When we sat down, every single table except one was speaking some dialect of Chinese. I heard the unmistakable drum of Hong Kong Cantonese, the high-pitched lisp of Beijing Mandarin, a mishmash Hokkien what sounded like it was from Singapore, lots of Taiwanese accents, and the plain-vanilla Shanghai accent. The whole place was speaking Chinese — so that’s an awesome sign. We did not get many dishes so it’s hard to really get an accurate gauge, so I’m going to have to come back. I was craving American-style Chinese food, so I got Orange Chicken. My son got Yeung Chow Fried Rice. The Orange Chicken was done perfectly. Clearly, their frier is exceptionally hot because the chicken came out crispy, juicy, and delicious without being oily and heavy as typical for being deep fried. And it tasted Chinese. This is the hardest to describe — but it there is a certain flavor that comes from an authentic Chinese kitchen be it in Shanghai, your mom’s, or Morrisville. The Yeung Chow Fried Rice was missing a few ingredients to be truly authentic(eg, missing the char siu pork), but it was a darn good fried rice. And their woks were super hot(you could never get them this hot at home) as the rice had a nice gentle toasting/char and was not oily. So, they’ve taken some liberties and aren’t necessarily«authentic» 100% of the time. But food snobbery aside, it tasted like it does in China and was very well done. I haven’t tried their Schezwan style, but my guess is that will be authentic. The portions were huge. The ingredients were good value(read: not top of the line, but were still nice and were more than fair in price). The beverage list is very limited. But, please just be an adult and be happy with tea. I am coming back to as-in-Asia experience and sweating when I order Szechuan food.

C&T Wok is our go to place for great Szechuan cuisine in the triangle. The food is always consistent and delicious. I recommend ordering off the dinner menu and pick a few items to share. This is not your traditional American Chinese food; this is the real thing, spicy and delicious. Some of our favorites are: Fried Pork Dumplings, Spicy Crispy Fish Fillet with dried chili, Chong Qing Chicken(boneless), and Ma-Po Tofu(with Pork). If you like it spicy, C&T Wok will not disappoint.

Very legit Schezuen Chinese food here for North Carolina. The portions are big here. Your dollar goes far here. It’s off the beaten path. I used a über and dined here with my coworker. The coffee Shrimp was just ok. Lots of Chinese people eating here. Amex no work here.

I’ve heard about C&T Wok for years. Finally, I was able to visit yesterday when someone asked where I wanted to go for my birthday lunch. It was packed, but people were always watching the door, «How many?!?» Two. We were seated right away. We were seated at two top so close to a table full of men that we could have reached over and taken a bite of their food too. They seemed nice though. We were handed two of the specials menus and one of the regular menu. Our drink order was taken promptly. When the server came back she was helpful in answering my friend’s questions. My friend was literally in the middle of placing her order when the server literally darted away. We were both stunned. I understand a busy restaurant; I’ve worked in plenty of them, but that was strange. She darted around the room going to this table or that table. Finally, we flagged another server down and told him that our server ran away. She eventually came back. So, my friend was able to place her order. Then I placed mine. My friend ordered two appetizers — the Dan Dan noodles and the wonton soup — and I ordered a spring roll and the spicy crispy beef. Her Dan Dan noodles came out pretty quickly. She let me try some of it. It was very hard to keep on a fork or a spoon, but flavorful. Shortly thereafter her soup came out. I still sat there waiting for the spring roll. It finally arrived and then 5 minutes later my entrée arrived. The spring roll was your typical spring roll, with the duck sauce. Tasty and gone in two bites. My spicy crispy beef was interesting. I must admit: I ordered it because of the Unilocal pictures and reviews. I found it to be a bit lacking though. It certainly didn’t lack in spice, but it could have used some sort of sauce. And I found it to more chewy than crispy. That and it was also rivaled with the amount of cilantro it was cooked with. As we wrapped up, we realized that no sooner had the restaurant become a madhouse than the faster it cleared out. People went back to work. And so did we. I’m not sure that I would visit C&T Wok again, at least not any time soon, because there are so many other good restaurants in RTP. I’ll think about it, but I feel like the legend of C&T Wok kind of let me down.

The great and legendary C&T Wok. A very small restaurant in an unassuming part of the Triangle. Walk inside and prepare yourself to be amazed. C&T’s large menu features many Chinese & Thai favorites. I ordered the Beef Panang Curry and the Spicy Pork Intestines(how’s that for a foodie dish for you?). All dishes are served family style — larger portions that are meant to be shared. Enjoy the always awesome Thai Jasmine rice with your entrees. A short wait later, and both entrees arrived. The mild and slightly sweet Panang curry combined perfectly with the legitimate spiciness of the pork intestines. These two entrees were more than enough for two people. More rice is free while eating at the restaurant but carry a $ 1.50 charge if you are taking some to go. Service is what it is at an Asian restaurant. It didn’t suck, so I’ve learned to be satisfied by it. I was mildly sketched out that they straight ran a second $ 1.50 charge for the extra rice. Surely their computer can handle open food charges. But, that’s not that big of a deal. I enjoyed my meal at C&T Wok, and I will return. I certainly can’t find pork intestines on the menu of the local Panda Express. Oh, um, obligatory don’t knock pork intestines until you try it statement.
