BBQ here was fine. Nothing special, but passable. Probably will try other local spots over going back.

Myself and some coworkers went for lunch one day. We were seated fairly quickly and the waitress got our drink orders. After she brought them, we didn’t see her again for a good 15min. She came back and we ordered. We weren’t thrilled that we couldn’t substitute sides, even with an upcharge but not the worst part of the experience. After we ordered we just sat there and waited and waited. When we asked her why it was taking so long she said it was because we ordered a lot of fried food but then when she brought our food about 10 min later she only brought the fried food and none of the other. We ended up sitting there for over an hr waiting for our food. We had to have it boxed up to take with us since we all had meetings to get back to. We were not offered any discounts or comps for our wasted time and the only thing the owner said on our way out when we mentioned what happened was that it must be because his son was in the kitchen and that they were short staffed. Then he said that they had been in business for 24 yrs so they must be doing something right. Placing the blame on others and not trying to make it up to the customer in any way lost a future customer, several of them. I understand that things happen, and had he tried to make it right, I might have given it another try. Once I finally got to eat a couple hours later, the food was nothing to brag about. I won’t be returning.

Nothing special. We got pulled pork, pork ribs, chicken wings, beef brisket and Texas toast. Our server told us the brisket was the top selling item and we don’t understand why. It was flavorless. All the meat came out at room temp except the wings, which were freshly fried. The ribs were tender but needed more seasoning. Same with the wings. I guess they’re assuming you’ll cover it in bbq sauce so don’t bother with seasoning. The pulled pork was dry but good if you smothered it with sauce. We went a little after noon on a Saturday and it was nearly empty, which surprised us. Service was prompt and polite. Only complaint was the server forgot our Texas toast but responded as if she was on the way to get it when we asked her about it. It came out cold so it was obviously sitting around for awhile. There are many other bbq options around here so we wouldn’t go back.

I know this sounds crazy, but try the flounder! It’s absolutely delicious and a huge serving! Love the baked beans and cole slaw.

Amazing brisket that is lean, Smokey, and flavorful… Fantastic coleslaw as well, better than the others in the area… And great service!!! Almost five stars… Some items like the fries were not at that high level, but the good stuff was very, very, very good!

Not as good as the other BBQ place we got take out from around this area, but still pretty decent. Staff was super nice. Environment casual. I got the brisket and pulled pork plate. I enjoyed the brisket but the pulled pork seemed a bit dry. We went an hour before they closed, so maybe it was just our bad timing. Maybe will have to try it again the next time I am in the RTP area.

One of my favorite BBQ places, drive here from North Raleigh. Food is always good, as it was today, and the atmosphere is usually great but today may be the day I stop eating here. First, they were out of wings at 1:00 on a Friday, lunch time, I can understand, we made do. When it came to dessert my wife saw a sign for a peach crisp posted in plain view near the register. We could see it from our table so my wife inquired about it. The server asked Danny, the owner if it was available, to which he responded by making fun of us for asking because it wasn’t on the specials board. The server told him were could hear but Danny didn’t care, just kept on putting our inquiry down. When the server left he kept on picking with the cook. All we did was ask if they had any. This man spent 20 minutes talking and grab assing with someone he knew in the booth right beside us but since we were not locals, have to drive 30 minutes to get there, have brought family from hours away just to eat there, he berated us in front of the entire restaurant. I feel most sorry for our server, I could tell she felt bad, though she did not apologize, probably for fear of her jerk of a boss. 20 years in retail got me so I do not write negative reviews often but I’ve never been so disrespected by a business in my life. Eat here if you like tasty BBQ and are willing to be treated like crap by a hateful owner. Oh, hey Danny, here’s a tip. If you are not serving something in your restaurant then take the signs advertising it down, maybe you will keep more customers.

Pretty decent food for the price. Not the best BBQ I’ve had here, and certainly not the worst. Their sauce is very tasty and works well on just about anything. I recommend trying the BBQ pork plate or sandwich.

We ate here for the first time on 1÷21÷16. The service was very good. The food came out hot and fast. I had the sliced turkey, collards, and Brunswick stew. The turkey tasted fresh and was good. The collards had a great flavor and were excellent. The stew tasted pretty good but was a little bland. I heated the flavor up a bit with one of the four sauces to choose from at the table and it turned out to be the right call. Each of the sauces were uniquely different but all stood out. We got a side of hush puppies that came out piping hot. They were traditional cornmeal pups that were a bit more dense than most other places offer but the flavor was rock solid. Overall, Danny’s is a good choice for a quick and reasonably priced meal. We will go back.

Non professional services, the waitress tried to over charge, almost double the original price. And the cashier tried to give lecture and pin the mistake on me while taking a long time to correct the mistake. This place is going downhill, be aware.

I’ve been avoiding Danny’s Bar-B-Que ever since I first saw the logo — a happy pig basting itself with a sauce while getting roasted. Weird at the very least. But, reading all the good reviews about this place, and especially the beef brisket, I decided to give it a try. I have mixed feelings. The personnel is extremely nice and professional. They were closing in 15 minutes when I showed up for take out and the floors were already getting cleaned, but the hostess/cashier was super friendly and patient while we were trying to pick what to eat. I chose beef brisket with 2 sides: cole slaw and brunswick stew(almost $ 13 total), and my boyfriend went with pork bbq, brunswick stew and«half cob» of fried corn(it was a little cheaper i think, but still above $ 10). I have never had beef brisket worse than this. The portion was large, but man, I felt like i bit into a leather belt. It definitely looked and felt underdone, extremely tough and absolutely tasteless. What a disappointment. My sides were not bad, but darn, I went there for the main course. My boyfriend’s pork bbq was tender, albeit a bit dry. We fixed that with a lot of sauce. Also noticed that the«half of corn cob» was actually more like a third. If you want good bbq or brisket look elsewhere. This place is not worth a try, especially for the money. Most food trucks in the area do a much better job.

Don’t kid yourself, BBQ in NC is not too good. However Danny’s BBQ is an exception. The brisket is lean and moist and doesn’t need much sauce. Thankfully they have good non-vinegar sauce. Other good items: ribs, beans, potato salad. I finally found a good BBQ place in NC and will definitely be back.

This place isn’t fancy but I like it. The food is always consistent and the turkey is awesome if you want something on the more healthy side. I am a sucker for bbq and seek it out wherever I travel. I definitely give Danny’s a thumbs up as long as you aren’t trying to impress anyone with the ambiance.

Im glad I bought the Groupon and did not pay full price for this. The service was horrible. A few girls on their phones and not worried much about customer service and no one to make sure they did. I ususally leave a tip according to service but it appeared they didnt care if they got a tip because after we got our food she didnt return until I walked over to her and her co workers to tell her we were done. If you want good chopped BBQ head straight to Clyde Coopers where the BBQ is always hot and tasty. If you want real beef brisket head on over to Backyard Barbeque. This place is not good. And on the way out i realized they had a 94 for a sanitation score.

«Now that is how you make a brisket!!» I am a pork BBQ fan first, but every so often I like to have a good beef brisket. I have been in search of a place for a long time and have come up with nothing near Raleigh. Well someone I work with mentioned that Danny’s has a good Beef Brisket and I should check it out since it was only a few miles from work. Boy am I glad he did, because this stuff was just about perfect. Smokey flavor, right amount of fat, and it was tender, but not so tender that you could not pick it up with a fork. I also got some of the chopped BBQ, and while it was very tasty, it wasn’t the best. I am somewhat of a BBQ snob so I would not hold that against them, and I would order it again, just not every time. I tried all the sauces that they had at the table, the Sweet BBQ sauce, the Hot BBQ sauce, and the Vinegar one were all very tasty. I also got green beans and coleslaw, both of them were well made, the coleslaw especially. I think it is safe to say that I have found my new lunch spot, I might even go again today.

I have been here a few times and it is classic good BBQ. I always get the pulled pork and it is consistently delicious, the best part is all of the different BBQ sauces they have to try. I have tried a few of the sides and they were all good. The atmosphere is super chill, it is an all around good place to get some quick delicious BBQ.

Wow. I heard from a friend of mine to try Danny’s. This unassuming little restaurant in a strip mall is a real gem. The baked beans are home made and are amazing on Texas toast(try it!). The coleslaw is likewise fantastic. Their selection of sauces don’t disappoint. I had the half rack of baby back ribs, my son and his friend had the chopped pork plate. Everyone left stuffed and happy with no room for pie which is a tragedy because they have so many great pies.
