I wanted to update my review as it has been a few years. I wish Unilocal would allow ½ stars, as I would give this a 4 ½. On the recommendation of Ramon, I tried the beef lingua. It is extremely tender, delicious, and flavorful. Not a dish most people would think to order, but if you are adventurous and enjoy trying new things I would recommend trying it. Food is always quick, consistent and delicious. Service and hospitality is above par compared to their competitors — they always make us feel special when we are here. I will continue to enjoy their food and hospitality!

Excellent churros and the salsa has a slightly smokey flavor, not overly spicy. Efficient, friendly service, that is very helpful with suggestions and answering questions. Entrees are tasty with tender beef that’s very flavorful, and portions are generous.

i was quite happy finding a Mexican restaurant here as I come to the area frequently. Was here on a Friday night and it was almost empty, very surprised. Décor is nice and service alright. I had the devil shrimp which was very tasty and just the right spice level that I enjoy. The chips and salsa they serve before the meal is very fresh. My wife didn’t like her chicken dish at all, like it was old, not heated through properly, it was so watery, it was simmering in water, very unappealing… too bad, too bad… one good dish and the other of unacceptable quality.

My coworker and I decided to have lunch delivered to my workplace on a Thursday afternoon. Good thing we thought about it the day before as the restaurant recommends that you order the food the day before for lunch. There’s a four dollar delivery charge. I was pretty disappointed that we did not get salsa or chips with the meal. I ordered the lunch fajita and it was mostly green peppers. The chicken was very tender and seasoned well. The refried beans were almost runny. Too many restaurants to choose from to go back to this place.

My rule is generally if there is a dish with the same name as the place, then it ought to be good. I ordered the Sol Azteca with steak and it was excellent. The salsa they served was also excellent. I was a bit perplexed why it was so empty on a Saturday night around dinner time, but the only knock on this place is that they serve Pepsi products instead of Coke. I’ll be back again soon.

We’re hoping we can find a Mexican restaurant where we live in Charlotte as good as this. We’re just in town for a couple days and we’re glad to find this when we had a craving for Mexican food. All of the staff was friendly and helpful, the food was awesome… if we lived in the area they’d probably get to know us well because this would definitely be or Mexican restaurant place of choice. Awesome place, awesome food, awesome staff… a place that with a little upgrade in ambiance could be huge! Try it you definitely won’t be disappointed

Interesting visit that included a comedy of errors and a seemingly extraordinarily long wait for food and one hand that doesn’t seem to know what the other is doing. Friday, it’s busy, but there are still a handful of empty tables. We were greeted and seated promptly, and from there, things went a little downhill. Drink orders were taken and delivered by server #1, then someone else, server #2 came to take our order. While waiting for the food to come out, someone else, server #3 came out and started asking if anyone had been taking care of us yet. Note, drinks were on the table, chips/salsa on the table, menus are gone. When the food did finally arrive, delivered by server #3, I immediately raised the question about my order — I was served a quesadilla but I had ordered an enchilada and chili relleno with beans/rice. Apparently a somewhat subdued argument ensued in the kitchen about the lunch special #7 vs the combo #7 and which one the cook staff was told to prepare. Not a terribly big deal — no cussing, just a little frustration being vented between server #2 and the cook(s). Eventually, the correct order did come out. The food was pretty good, standard Americanized Mexican fare, tasty and hit the spot. I do not generally get into the crapper at the office about taking long lunch hours, but I don’t make it a habit either, and unfortunately, the extended amount of time it took to initially get our orders, and then to get the corrected order and eat did end up extending my lunch hour by a very uncomfortable margin of time. The food was good. The service was just«meh». Hopefully another visit will prove differently but I’m in no real hurry to find out.

Great food! Get there before the bartender and the waitresses will hook you up. My father in law ordered a Johnny walker, she brought in a highball glass over little ice, was like 4 drinks in one! Granted the first one she put salt on the rim with a lime and a straw but the 2nd one was great! The margarita’s had lots of alcohol and huge!!! A must go!

Excellent food and service. The owner is always on top of details. My favorite is the Chichen Soup with Guacamole. It taste homemade and the atmosphere is very relaxing. I recommend it. They have a nice patio if you want a get together with friends. I really recommend it. Good Job

Whenever I try a Mexican restaurant for the first time I always try the mole. To me if the mole sauce is good everything else will be too. Well, I was not disappointed! The salsa was fresh and the chips were warm and not salted. Plus, plus, plus! We came for lunch and I had the number 6, a chicken enchilada and asked for mole sauce on it and a beef chile relleno with rice. The mole has a wonderful chocolaty flavor with a nice spice. The rice was fluffy and moist and the chile relleno was good, but another filling might have been tastier. Overall the food was very fresh. It’s busy at lunch and it seemed like they were short staffed. Nonetheless our waiter was friendly and as efficient as possible. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I was looking for flautuas. Unfortunately when I got was not exactly what I was expecting. The manager explained it was taquitos Americana, but it just wasn’t what I was wanting. For $ 14 which included a very bland guacamole salad I was very disappointed. Perhaps there may be other items I can give a second chance.

We eat there almost every week! The staff are friendly and the food is great! I only have one complaint: I have been spoiled by their chorizo. After having it several times, I had it at another restaurant and it just tasted like salty sawdust. Seriously, I highly rocmend their Chori Pollo! The chorizo is fantastic and the chicken is simply wonderful and tender!

Everyone please ignore Mary S. Some folks feel they are«owed» something special. The owner/manager of this place is always WELL above and beyond to any customers desires/needs. The ladies who work here are really great and always in a good mood. The food is always great and even more important, very consistent. The special guacamole recipe is tremendous.

A solid Mexican restaurant. I’ve been here just over a dozen times, and the experience has been consistently good. Nothing especially fancy, but never disappointing either. Every time I come here I’m immediately greeted by a hostess, seated, and served chips with salsa. Bottomless chips and fresh salsa that isn’t watered down? Yes, please! Service seems to get better each time I go, and I’ve never had to wait more than ten minutes for my meal to arrive. I highly recommend the newest dishes such as a traditional mole, and carnitas en salsa verde(braised pork with green sauce). For the price and portion, this is your best bet for authentic Mexican in Morrisville.

Definitely a solid Mexican restaurant here in the Triangle. There were complimentary(and refillable) chips and salsa which was awesome. We were a group of 9 so it took about 15 minutes for our food to come out – not too long, but then again we only had an hour for lunch. I got a quesadilla, taco, and rice for only about $ 8! The drink specials were pretty nice, a pitcher for about $ 10 and 6 coronitas(the baby coronas) for $ 7. They also had a few tv’s on with ESPN. It really fills up at lunch time! The place is pretty cramped but there is a patio. Overall a great, cheap restaurant with good booze selection.

Good food, not your typical crappy Mexican they seem to put time and effort into getting it right. They have great chips and more importantly good salsa, the food that comes from the kitchen is always hot, not just warm, good combo plates available, and great bucket of beer specials.

We first visited this place with a Living Social Deal. I’m not a big fan of Mexican food but everything we ate from the complimentary chips and salsa to the entrees, which are huge portions, were really delicious. The was a bit of confusion about the«drink specials» that was not clearly explained by the waitress. They made it right though. We have returned and plan on returning whenever we are in the mood for some delicious Mexican. We love the chile relleno and well, just about everything else. The default meat is beef which I thought I would prefer until I had the chicken. The chicken is flavorful in the enchilada, tamale, burrito… I recommend this place if you’re looking for cheap delicious Mexican.

Came here last night and it was pretty slow, which is probably why the service was so good honestly. Our waiter was friendly and nice. My one gripe is the menu… it’s overwhelming. Even the waiter joked on it. When I asked, «Where are the nachos?»… He replied, «Turn to page 112.» That just lets you know that the menu is too much. There had to be like close 15 flaps of dishes to choose from. If the waiter doesn’t know where something is on the menu, that’s a problem. Otherwise I ordered the special nachos. It’s difficult for me to deviate from what I love. The chips and salsa are great! Never had spicy salsa at a Mexican Restaurant before, and I LOVE spicy food. My nachos were good, and my boyfriend got the Fajitas Texanas. Overall I would recommend this joint and come when it’s slow. Just like any restaurant, waiters will take their time to explain, recommend, and entertain.
