Loved this boat cruise in spite of the young drunk couple seated behind me. The owner/​operator/​guide was really great and had a lot of interesting information about the area and the bay. I was also super stoked that it was dog friendly, as it was my dogs first boat ride and it can be challenging to find fun things to do when I travel with her. Did the $ 10 sunset cruise and loved it :) Morro Bay is the best! Don’t miss this fun ride!

Seems like a great deal. The guy who runs it closed to go see a concert. I was at the deck petting their cat Sassy when he personally told me. That’s fine, sounded like he deserved it, and rarely closed. But this was following the day that the other guys also cancelled boat rides, the second day in a row we missed a boat ride. No sour grapes here (5 stars), just a warning to CALL AHEAD for your rides to avoid disappointment.

Great tour! Pirates booty for the kids and authentic drinks for the adults. Not the junk Mai-​tai you’re used to. It’s affordable too! This is a don’t miss!

Review for renting an electric boat. Arrived on a Friday morning so there wasn’t any wait. Got the paperwork done (signed many forms) and after about 5 minutes of instruction, we were off. It was really fun to tour the bay on our own. We could stop and photograph the otters. 1 hour was plenty of time. They even gave us a captain’s hat to wear while driving the boat. The boat was clean and they even had fresh cut flowers in a vase. It was fairly easy to maneuver after a little practice. Fun time indeed. I recommend it.

I rented an electric boat from this company for my husbands birthday. Once we got out, the boat was great! It was nice to cruise around and check out the otters, sea lions etc.
On the other hand, the company’s communication was terrible. When I confirmed my reservation with Emily, I specifically asked how early we should get there (assuming there was some instruction time) and I was told only «5 minutes early.» Wanting to be able to enjoy our full hour of the rental we still showed up 15 minutes early. And we stood there, not being helped. I watched the guy, who ended up helping us later, vacuum out a boat, plug in another, and talk to other people on the dock. He didn’t even look over at us. Multiple times I was considering walking over and seeing if he was the one we should be checking in with. After standing there for over 10 minutes he finally came over to us. THEN he says to me that we should have been there 15 minutes prior to our reservation time! Which we were and just standing there! I told him we had been waiting and he argued with me. When I told him I had called and talked to Emily, he mumbled something about that being his daughter. So then, for our instruction time he told us too bad because we were late we wouldn’t get our full hour and was very grouchy and short with us.
I hope I never have to deal with this guy again!

We took this tour for the first time with our grandchildren last year and loved it. We came back this year with our grandchildren who are 3 and 5 yrs old. Our grandson is very much into trains, trucks, boats etc. just like any other little 3 yr old. My husband and I were enjoying how much he was into this little boat ride even addressing the driver of the boat who he called «Captain», who by the way was not the owner but someone he had hired. The boat ride started off fairly well until the «Captain» lost his patience and no longer wanted our 3 year old grandson to talk to him. He preceded to tell my husband to keep our grandson quiet because he was disturbing the tour and other people. My husband told the «Captain» that he is 3 yrs old and just to continue his job. The «Captain» then preceded to tell my husband that my grandson was disturbing him and he couldn’t go on with the tour. My husband then stood up and asked the other guest if my grandson was disturbing them and a few shook their head no. So my husband sat down and just told him to continue. After a few minutes the man continued the tour and my husband and I exchanged grandchildren so that my grandson wouldn’t distract this man. Well we got to the sand dunes and everyone got off the boat to explore, my husband walked over to the Captain to try and reason with him and the Captain got in my husbands face and started yelling at him and dropping the F — bombs. He told my husband that he was the kind of F****** person that to took his kids to the f***** movies and ruined it for everyone else. Thank God that my husband was able to keep is composure because this man deserved to be slugged. My husband walked away from him and the so called «Captain» rang the bell for everyone to come back on board but us. He told us we couldn’t board the boat just yet and made us wait for about 3 minutes then told us we could board the boat. When we arrived back to port, my husband went start to the store front to talk to the owner. He told him what happened and all he said was that he was sorry. I told the owner that if his people couldn’t handle little 3yr olds then they should put an age restriction not recommended for children under 5 and that he should train his people a lot better. We will never take this tour again, the sad thing was the my grandson was oblivious to this mans inappropriate handling of this situation that on our way off the boat he said, «bye Captain, Thank You!» Shame on the owner Allan for not taking the appropriate action against this employee because he was still giving tours that same day!

Our son was in town and we wanted to show him a good time on the bay. Lost Isle was exactly what we were looking for! The boat itself looks a little cheesy, but the seats are comfortable and our guides, Cale and Reed, were class acts. We cruised around the bay and they talked about Morro Bay history and tidbits of interesting info about marine life and the fishing industry. We were even able to get off the boat and put our feet in the sand out on the jetty across the bay! Great Tiki Leaky drinks and reasonable prices! We will definitely be returning with future guests!

$ 10 tour… what a deal! You can buy drinks on the boat. I hadn’t planned on a boat tour at all… and didn’t pay too much attention when i saw ads in the tourist mag. However, of the 2 nights we stayed in town, the 2^nd night was clear. At about 6:15pm I had just finished prepping dinner and decided to call the boat company to inquire if there were any more boat tours that evening (since we had to leave the next day). Surprisingly, there was a last boat at 7:30pm and we were only 5 minutes away, so i hurried to shower and get ready and got to the dock by 7pm to get tickets. The boat gets you close to the sea otters and seals and just ride up the harbor. It was nice. We were one of the first to arrive but unfortunately the boat wasn’t ready for us to board til 7:40pm …(by 7;30pm i realized there may not be a bathroom on board since these are small boats, not ferries)…so i hurried to use the bathroom… and that was the time the boat arrived to board…:(I wasn’t able to get an optimal seat where i could take pictures… most of the seats have a plexiglass window… only a few dont’ have plexiglass… so if you want a great seat for photo opps, arrive early and make sure you use the bathroom EARLY. :)

Loved this little tour. Got to see sea otters and sea lions up close. Drinks on the boat. The Captain/​owner is very friendly. $ 10 per person was affordable and we learned a lot about the bay. Just remember that the 7 pm cruise is 21 and over. Beautiful at sunset.

We have been a customer of this place for the last three trips to the area. We rented the electric boats, and the tiki boat, both are reasonably priced and a wonderful way to see the bay.
Tip: if you can assemble the numbers, and embrace the kitch factor, get a group of 15 – 23 people and rent the tiki boat. There is a bar, and the captain is very knowledgable about the bay and it’s history. We had a group of 14 adults and 5 kids and with the rental, healthy bar bill and a well deserved tip, we paid $ 25 each (each adult).
A highly recommended tourist stop for those who shopped out.

The best $ 10 I’ve spent in ages! The captain/​tour guid/​bartender Jake (sorry if it was Jack) was great– really positive attitude in spite of likely doing the same tour hour after hour. He was engaging and shared the right amount of info without trying to pass himself off as a history professor. Thanks for the great time– don’t miss this one!

Take this harbor cruise. You will not be sorry. It’s maybe an hour or so and the captain was funny and we got some history on the harbor and we just loved it. They also take you across the harbor to the beach where you get to get off the tiki and enjoy the beach for about 10 minutes or so. We didn’t have drinks because I had to drive but I thought prices were extremely reasonable.

What a great way to spend an hour in Morro Bay. We found an ad for this tour in a local magazine and I am so glad we decided to do this.
Small pontoon boat decked out in classic cheesy Tiki. You start before the boat leaves by getting a drink at the full bar. Great drink and a good price try the Tiki Leaky (or boat drink as I called it). I would have been happy to just sit on the boat and have a few drinks although I might not have been able to walk off after two Tiki leakys.
After drinks in hand we took a nice 45 minute tour of the bay. The Guide/​owner was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. You can tell he has a real passion for the water and a true respect for the bay and its wildlife.
$ 10 for adults and $ 5 for the little ones. Drinks extra but nicely priced. I will do this again next time we are in the area.

So a tiki bar water taxi is a creative offering. $ 10 for an hour putting around in the harbor. The drinks were stiff and reasonably priced. The captain got us close to the local wild life and had a good knowledge of the history and geography of Morro Bay. We were dropped off on the spit to explore a bit. Great experience, great price.

This was a bright spot in our day. After having a nice coffee and a lemonade smoothie on top of the dock we dropped 10 bucks and went for a ride. Captain was fun and very knowledgeable about the area… just as I was telling my young son about the 7 sisters volcanic mounds… the captain came on and told that very story… made me look like a hero… thank you Captain. The sand spit was fun for kids and my wife. A well spent 10 dollars and the drinks on board were also fantastic! We will be back every time we visit Morro Bay!

We just happened upon this boat tour and it was GREAT. The Captain is professional, fun and super knowledgeable. He welcomed our dog too! Super time and a great ride. We highly recommend it.

I originally saw Lost Island Adventures in Sunset Magazine and was particularly interested in the «Oyster Farm Tour.» The article said that the tours were only $ 10.00 and showed a picture of someone grilling an oyster. I was organizing a wine tasting trip for 12 friends and thought that a nice outing on the harbor would be an excellent break from wine tasting.
I called Allan two weeks before our trip and made arrangements for the tour. We talked about the $ 10.00 charge and he told me that he doesn’t grill any oysters but that it did include a glass a wine and an oyster at the neighboring seafood restaurant.
We all showed up right on time and found Allan and his boat waiting. We got on and all handed our money to him. At this point he told me that if we wanted the oyster tour it would be $ 15.00 per person. He then went on to say if we wanted a tour which included an oyster and glass of wine it would be $ 25.00.
Seeing as we were sitting on the boat already, we all pulled out the additional $ 5.00 and handed it over.
The fog was coming in, which is not unexpected on Morro Bay in the afternoon. The tour was, in fact, of an oyster farm. The thing is that on a Saturday afternoon, an oyster farm consists of a barge in the middle of the bay. Nothing else. Allan had another fella with him who talked about the bay, the tides, the birds and oysters. He seems to know a lot about wildlife and was very nice.
Before writing this I checked the Lost Isle Adventure website and it still says «Adults $ 10.00» and «Some tours end with an oyster barbeque.»
I’m sure Allan is a nice guy and the bay is nice even when it’s socked in with fog but we all felt like we got the bait and switch routine when he upped the price to $ 15.00.

The boat ride was great! Captain Alan toured us around the fishing boats, sea otters, jelly fish, Morro Rock, and the sea lions. He also dropped us off on the semi private beach across the docks and picked us up an hour later. He advised us on where to go and my wife and kids enjoyed it. Definitely one of the top highlights of our trip and worth the drive from our hotel in San Luis Obispo. We would do it again!

This is a treasure! The tiki-​style boat will take you on a tour of Morro Bay with LOTS of historical facts thrown in from the very knowledgeable captain. He is a wealth of information about the sea life which abounds and the different activities around the area. He will also take you over to the sandspit — nearly inaccessible otherwise — and come back to pick you up at a pre-​set time. There are all kinds of cool things to investigate onthe sandspit. My husband and I took the trip ourselves and then with other adults — can’t wait to do it with children in tow! Inexpensive, too!

This is a single-​man operation. He runs a pontoon-​style tiki boat out into Morro Bay. The tours last one hour and include a stop at a distant beach in the bay that would otherwise only be reachable by foot. He charges only $ 10 per adult and $ 5 for children. He is knowledgeable about the area and even had a treasure chest for the kids to pick a gift from at the end of the cruise. Capt Alan was very friendly and just began this business in early 2010. He is the only reasonable tour in the bay. He also gives oyster tours and private charters. Normal hours are 11 am to 6 pm and a 7 pm cruise on the weekends. The hours probably vary in the off-​season.
