Fantastic views at the back bar. Great selections on tap. Something for everyone. They have the best fried pickles I have ever tried and good burgers to. We got a growler to take home to our son. Some people aren’t used to the sourness of the beers but we really enjoyed them. We will keep on coming back every trip. Bartenders were great and gave a lot of info on the beers. They will do a tasting flight which I highly recommend.

Terrible service. Never was waited on totally ignored. Explains their name… or maybe they are stupid enough that they don’t know what it even means. So can’t say anything about the food. Never even got a waiter to walk by. When we complained it was obvious they didn’t care.

Finally made it into this place. Nice selection of brews, both theirs & guest taps. Sours are definitely their strong suit & they do a nice job with variety as well. I’ll definitely stop in again when Im in town. They do «flights» of 43oz pours for $ 10, which is a great deal. Nice menu, friendly people.

Beers plenty. Prices not worth the size. Service lacking. Bottom line: Develop customer service skills because customer service kills.

Tonight I opted for a saison followed by a blonde. Both were good. Saison I chose has more of a honey like flavor. The place was hopping at about 8pm. Plenty of locals and tourists alike. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable of beers and menu items. We ordered kettle chips. I would pass those up next time. At $ 5 a pop, there is nothing special about these chips. My only regret from the night was paying that much for a plate of regular potato chips which weren’t all crispy. On a separate note, we also ordered the messy nachos(yes, that’s the name haha) not too messy but oh so good! Didn’t stay long as the place was dying down about an hour later. I’d come back but not for a while. The people sitting next to us were super rowdy, intoxicated, and becoming belligerent. Staff never addressed this and needless to stay this really did put a damper on my experience. The band was awesome! I requested Johnny Cash Cocaine Blues and they did an awesome job(sans rowdy table, they were gone) If you’re in the mood to try something new, come on down. They have a great variety on tap. Be prepared to pay anywhere from $ 7-$ 9 per beer. Again, good selection so it’s worth the money. Don’t expect to come and sit down and order a Bud Light or Coors Light… this is not the place.

Personally I enjoyed this place a lot. Of course, it was a really slow night, but the place was chill and the bartender was cool.

I love myself a properly dingy, slightly sordid pub. Upon entering this appeared to have everything I wanted to find: greasy food options, a cadre of characters to watch/interact with, and a plethora of beers. Okay now that I have caught up on my «word of the day» calendar, I can give this place a proper review: The Libertine Pub is fantastic if you are not looking for a high-brow, pinkies out place to drink. It’s the PERFECT place for you if you are into craft beers, vinyl, delish pub fair, and good service. My better half and I spent a few hours there recently sampling the wares, engaging in conversation on the woes of internet dating, and eating our way through the menu. The service alone from Ms. Rachelle(props to you lady pants) and the cast of characters that came in over the two hours we were there would have been enough to bring me back. However, please know that their beer list is phenomenal, including whatever they are currently carrying from their own brewing company. I was particularly fond of their Saison Fonce. Come in after kayaking on the bay(like we did) and drink those calories you just lost. Maybe if you are lucky, Ms. Rachelle will be working.

This place was amazing. Was in Morro Bay for the weekend checking out Hearst Castle. Found this place walking around downtown. Popped in for a pint and loved it so much we went for dinner and a band the next evening. Their own beers are AWESOME. I had to buy a growler to bring home with me. I cant wait to go back!

One of my absolute favorite pubs on the central coast for sure! The atmosphere and ambiance is perfect. Beer and food great, view is beautiful! I live in Atascadero and I’ll travel to the Libertine just for a good beer, a must try!

This is a great spot to try different beers right on the ocean. They have a bar right on the embarcadero strip and another that is overlooking the ocean. Great beers that everyone would love! Loved having Hunter as our server!

There are certainly a lot of different beers on the menu, so many that the server told are group it would be best if they went to the front of the pub and looked at what was on the menu. I’m not a beer drinker so had a root beer. I don’t know if they brew the root beer or not it was good. For my meal I had chicken wings with BBQ sauce. I also had fried dill pickle slices. The wings were good, but nothing special. The pickle slices were wonderful, lightly fried and not greasy. The batter had a slight cheesy taste. I liked them a lot. There were several people in our group and I had a hard time trying to convincing them to try these tasty morsels. I ended up with leftovers and the pickles were still good the next day. The wooden interior was dark and there were a lot of people enjoying beers. Just as we were ready to leave a band was setting up. I think that after the music started it would be too loud for me to want to stay. Would I come again? Perhaps, the pub is right on the water and the prices are reasonable.

A brewery nestled deep in the downtown of morro bay. Neatly addressed 1234. This brewery is famous for the sours. This doesn’t mean that you can’t have a good time but it might mean that your taste isn’t going to really be blown away here. I went with friends who are big fans of sour beers and we even got a good gose to share. Ultimately I didn’t buy anything in pints but it was nice. Not enough chairs for everyone to sit but I think most groups coming here would like to stand and drink. They didn’t love the idea of having outside food come in so we had to take off to find food.

Came down from Paso after a beer event and heard nothing but good things about Libertine. but I said Libertine… apparently theres a pub and a brewery and if I had my choice I shouldve just went to the brewery rather than the bar rescue infested pub down on the waterfront. Pros: The beer. this is the only reason I actually came here was because of the hype of the beer that does live up to its styles. Cons: The food… im not stupid nor was I drunk but we ordered the nachos and calamari and my calamari was so rubbery and nasty that even the breading was falling off in the tray that was served to us. Now maybe my other intoxicated friends would love shit food to soak up all the beer we had but this HAD to be literallly microwaved for a good couple minutes because theres no way it took almost 20 mins to make such shit food. I prolly would only come here for the atmosphere being next to the water but I would totally avoid the food.

The beer selection here, like the view, is pretty darn good. The food is pretty good as well, though the spicy cod tacos I ordered — while tasty — were not spicy at all. The service is so-so as small errors were made on our visit. As for prices, the beer is moderately priced. The food could be a tad less expensive.

This place is pretty great. The food is top notch. A huge selection of brews. They even play music from records instead of the radio or pandora. The fries are nice and crispy. I had a burger and loved it. The saltiness of the bacon and the creaminess of the avocado combines perfectly with the meat blend in the patty. The bar is casual and the restaurant offers a great view. It’s on the beach in Morro Bay so parking seems like it be take a little effort sometimes, but we quickly found a spot in the parking lot across the street.

Don’t be fooled when you walk in and it looks small. There are 2 rooms — the back room is nicer with views of the water, front room is darker but still really cool. The beer list is split between the 2 rooms. They have some standards on the list and some really unique ones. Most of the Libertine ones were sour — not a huge fan. They had an awesome Nitro on tap… my new favortire but I imagine they rotate the taps pretty frequently so there is always something new to come back and try. The bartenders were ok — some more friendly than others. My husband asked the girl with long, dark brunette hair for a few samples before committing to one(at this point our tab had easily 5 – 6 beers on it already) and she said«ok — but after this one you have to decide» — as if he were trying to get free beer or something? Kind of a rude statement. We were obviously paying customers… sorry it takes you 2 seconds to pour a sample. They had live music on the Saturday night we were there — pretty sweet. P. S. I heard they are opening a location in SLO?!

Stopped here with my husband after hiking harmony headlands… Service was good. Bartender acknowledged us when we came in and took our drink orders shortly after. I ordered the summer Alaskan ale and my husband got the hoppy bday pale ale. My beer was a little less than cold, but my husband’s beer was very cold. I think I preferred the pale ale to the Alaskan summer. Prices were good, $ 5-$ 6 for beer, someone near us ordered rum and coke and it was only $ 5. They had two tvs with the hockey game on(which was great for us). There was music playing too, my husband thought the music was too loud, but I thought it was just fine(he must be getting old: P) We took a look at the food menu, looked like they had pretty good pub food, kinda expensive, but we didn’t order anything — we just weren’t very hungry. To finish we shared a deshutes obsidian stout on nitro. It was great! Nice texture and awesome taste. Typical pub, nothing too exciting. Our experience with the service was good(a lot of people said otherwise on here), it wasn’t super crowded when we were there and the bartender was quick to get our drink orders and the check when we were ready to leave.

Service was not good. We waited for 30 minutes after we were sat before we had our orders taken, & then another 30 minutes for our food. We were so close to just ditchin the place before we ordered because of that. The bartender was really nice, but there was definitely a lack of staff there to accommodate everyone in the restaurant. Great beer selection, but food left me unimpressed. While I did enjoy my salmon tacos, the steamers were incredibly salty and decorated with a handful of unopened clams. That was a big let down. The mac&cheese & clam chowder were also very ordinary and not worthy of a reorder. So with the combined lack of service+under average food, I wouldn’t go back.

Totally cool little bar… and I mean the little part near the Embarcadero, not the other part that overlooks the bay(that one is stinky, dark and unappealing to me). As you walk in, your eyes don’t even know where to land! Decorated dollar bills wallpaper the entire bar area and ceiling, bottle caps cover another wall and there’s also a colorful wall-sized chalkboard describing their brews, events and specials. So fun to look around! We didn’t try any of their own beers, but my Malibu and diet was great! My hunny’s domestic brew was cold and what he wanted, so I can’t really review this place for their own actual beers… and knowing our tastes, I probably never will. BUT the bar itself and the staff are hella cool. Worth stopping in to have a cold one and talk with the locals and the out-of-towners alike. Chill place, definitely. CHEERS!!!

Tolle Aussicht.
