This is the jam. Watch them cook. Sit by the bar. Order some beer on tap. Cut out the waiter and the wait. Get those garlic butter oysters and your clam chowder and your steamers. Eat, pay and go. Also great staffs.

Amazing spot for seafood! The baked clams and oysters with garlic and butter was tasty! The raw oysters were sweet and just prefect! Definitely will be back!

We had the fresh oysters, Rockefeller, BBQ, smoked, and clams casino were all fantastic! The clam chowder was rich and creamy, with huge chunks of clam. Service was good and the outside seating is comfortable, if not super fancy. Definitely worth checking out.

Walking all over Embarcadero, we found all the other places disappointing. Dockside 3 seemed to have an interesting menu compared to the others. And we ordered to go quickly. I’m so glad we did. We got the tacos(Salmon & Scallop), basic cheeseburger, BBQ oysters. The oysters were SOOOO yummy. I wish I got more! Garlic butter on oysters, who knew? The tacos were so beautiful and tasty. Salmon was spiced and the scallops! Sweet and spicy. The cheeseburger was ok. Nothing fancy but tasty and with good portions. Had to «dock» a star tho. We ordered the seafood combo but it wasn’t included. Paid and left so it was too late. Did call but they were closed and we left early next morning. Next time, i’m getting more tacos!

BBQd oysters = so good! We were here on a Thursday evening in February, pretty dead, but I can imagine how packed this place must be on weekends, summer, etc. Sat by the fire pit outside — very nice. Also love that they have the retro boat-shaped building. Really good, fresh seafood.

I was soo disappointed with the food and service here. Yes, I know it was later in the day(6:30ish) and yes, I know it was Valentine’s Day(which was the whole reason we were there), but this was shockingly different from my other experiences at Tognazzini’s. I initially ordered Clams Rockerfeller, which they told me they were out of. Ok. Do you have Clams Casino? Nope. Thought about it a few minutes and wound up ordering a Mexican Shrimp cocktail because I’d seen photos of it on another review of Tog’s Dockside 2. The disappointment of this dish was worse than them being out of clams. I paid $ 9 for 5 overcooked shrimp in soup and it was SOOONOT what I was expecting. We also waited 35 minutes and received only half our order, all of which was my husband’s food, so I didn’t even get to eat the same time as him. I honestly wish we would have gone somewhere else.

Extremely disappointed with this place! The reviews looked great so we decided to stop there. The wait was really long, about 40 minutes and the food wasn’t what we expected at all. We ordered raw oysters that were served we pieces of shell in it. Not a good experience.

After walking out of the Dockside 2 empty handed, the vibes were totally different. Older experienced staff and genuine customer service! I had a cup of chowder to start. Perfect. Not to starchy and the clams not chewy, and pleasant flavor! We had the fish and chips. The fish NOT fishy, very light bread coating, and not greasy. The slaw is optional at no cost if you ask. It was fresh and crispy. The server and seemingly manager? provided exceptional service. I would totally go here again for Fish and Chips!

Best smoked fish tacos on the central coast! Try the scallop or the swordfish tacos.

This place is the bomb!!! Don’t bother going elsewhere in Morro Bay. As a local I know. The restaurant is superb and fish market charges half the price of Giovannis in town!

Clam chowder. $ 3.95. Had better. Thick, lots of cream. light on the clams and potatoes. 3 raw oysters. $ 5.95. Fresh, large as always. Good. 3 oysters rockefeller. $ 6.95. Not bad, but not my cup of tea. Cheese was way salty for some reason. App crab cakes. $ 8.50. Plenty of crab. A little spicy(the crab, not the sauce). Slightly burnt. Total $ 31.77 with tax. Don’t think we’ll be back. I think this one is off the list.

Loved it! Was there for Labor Day weekend. We ordered the fusion tacos(special) and BBQ oysters. Fabulous! We both ordered drinks that were filled to the brim of the glass(generous pour). It was a beautiful day to sit outside and enjoy the view. We will be returning for sure!

It was our first time here in Morro Bay and we absolutely loved it. Came here for lunch. We got the oysters which were amazing and the fish and chips which were equally amazing! And fresh! Btw we got the BBQed oysters, they were ok. Not as good as the fresh ones. But love that they are right near the ocean, it’s a great place to go and eat!

Stopped here for lunch. Scallop tacos were awesome beer was cold, but the service was not very professional. We have had some great food at dockside too and expected the same level of service. These guys allowed us to order shrimp tacos and pay and then let us know they were out of shrimp really. Come on 1) why are you out of shrimp, 2) why didn’t you tell us that prior. Small place would probably not come back if dockside too were open. This owner typically runs a tight ship, I was surprised at this level of service as well as being out of product. Definitely out of the norm.

Dropped in to introduce my sweetie to oysters. I don’t understand how one can go through 50+ years of life without eating oysters, so the situation was rectified today! We had raw and BBQd oysters over beers. Raw: No matter where I go, I always eat the first raw oyster unadorned: no lemon, no sauce, no condiments. The other important part is to chew those little guys up; there’s no point in eating raw oysters if they’re just going to get sucked down and not appreciated. Chewing releases all of the complex flavors and enhances the whole experience. First one was plump and meaty with a envigorating level of brine.(I like that, but some might find it too strong.) The second one, I swabbed a bit of their cocktail/horseradish sauce and got a nice kick in the sinuses. BBQd: This might be a better choice for the less adventurous or a tender palate. The brine of the raw oyster is replaced with a mild, pleasant garlic butter without sacrificing any of the meatiness of the oyster. And I agree with a previous reviewer that some sourdough bread is in order to sop this deliciousness up! Bonus: These are fresh Pacific Golds from Morro Bay Oyster Company, and a fantastic source of zinc and iron. Service: Excellent, friendly. I’m definitely coming back for more!

Ok it’s a little confusing how there are 3 Tognazzini’s. — «Restaurant and Fish Market» is the sit down restaurant — «Too» is the food market with open air seating area — «3» is the brew pub We weren’t looking for anything fancy and didn’t know the different so walked into the pub area. It was small with some stools along the counter and some in the back. They stock menus from all 3 places(Too and 3 are the same looks like) so you can take a look before committing to each area. Too seemed to have the best views of Morro rock, but it was a rainy day so sitting indoors was preferred. The sit down restaurant offered more entrée options but even the same items costs a least a couple bucks more there, so brew pub it is! The fresh Morro Bay oysters were really great. You can even seen the truck parked outside offloading big buckets so you know they’re as fresh as you can get. Good sized, meaty with a little crunch, mild brininess, lots of juice. Didn’t try any of the cooked ones, just like the raw ones so much more that yes I rather risk Vibrio. I got the swordfish special which is grilled pieces of fish with fries. I’m usually not a huge swordfish fan but these are pretty tender albeit small pieces. The fries were surprisingly pretty good, if only they had truffle oil… Solid meal with great oysters at a good price and a good selection of drafts to wash it down!

Went both new years eve and new years day for dinner. Loved both nights. Our table was ready at the reservation time… which is hard to do. Wine selection is good and affordable while promoting the central coast. The Manhattan chowder was ok… not as good as other MB locations but the Oyster rockafellers was outstanding. Our main course on nite 1 was the seafood fettuccine… outstanding. imagine a good fettuccine with tons of seafood!!! Last night we did the bacon wrapped albacore and it was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were also great. If you like local and fresh… this is the place. And cudos to the staff! Well done folks!

I’d stayed away from D3 because I’m ALWAYS with my pup, Abby, when I’m here. About a week ago stuck my head in just to look around and the nicest cashier/server, Mariah, was just inside and said Ab was ok to bring in!!! Been a happy client since. She also gave me a great briefing on the menu and answered all my questions with excellent product knowledge. I think she majored in fishology… Her recommendations were spot on and I’ve enjoyed the food and the service greatly. Place is clean and the staff is good folks. Try it!!!

Essentially, this new addition to the Tognazzini’s line of restaurants is offering smoked items like salmon and oysters, plus a nice, long list of brews on tap for the beer lovers. We got there when it was a little cool and breezy out at Dockside Café down the way. We asked if we could get the fresh seafood from the fish market and bring them over to eat with a nice draft pint of the Deschutes Black Butte Porter. There’re no tables inside. It’s all counter and stool style seating. Outside, however, there are not only tables, but an outdoor firepit to keep warm when it cools off in the late afternoon and evening. This is a nice, quick place to have a plate or half-plate of Oysters Rockefeller, Casino Oysters, or smoked mussels and a pint of craft beer. The price for the craft beers is only $ 3.95 for a pint cup. [There’re also kabobs, burgers and tacos and wraps on the menu, but wouldn’t you rather have seafood?] The employees behind the counter were friendly and helpful. 12/02/2013(update) I had the opportunity to stop by while driving up the coast. What could I do but stop at one of my favorite eateries on the whole central coast? My dining companion and I picked up a grilled ling cod and crab salad order at the Dockside Café, then walked over to the Dockside 3 to enjoy a brown ale and Deschutes Porter with our meal siting outside in the warm(!) sunshine on Dec 1st. Down the way, we could hear the live music guitarist while we sipped and ate. (Hallelujah for Tognzzini’s!) In addition to the nice selection of microbrewery beers on tap, they now offer bottles of wine to enjoy with your meal.
