Another trip to Morro Bay in early March 2016, and I had coffee here each morning… great! Staff is super fun and friendly. Only downside… pastries look really mediocre and more factory made. Better pastries at Morro Bay coffee, although their coffee is just okay.

My roommate’s sister recommended this place so we had to check it out. I ordered the«Chaimayan» which was a mix of chai and Mexican chocolate, and almond milk on request. It was delicious! It was the perfect blend of cinnamon and chocolate. The space is warm and quiet. There were students on their laptops studying. They also have a wall where you can write a message. It was raining that day, so we didn’t check out the patio. It’s an expensive cup(around $ 5 for mine) but I’ve never had chai with Mexican chocolate, and they do it perfectly. I saw that they had a mango chai, and I’m definitely trying that the next time I’m in Morro Bay.

These guys have the best coffee and service in town. If you haven’t tried it you should. Great service affordable pricing and dyno products.

Top Dog Coffee Bar was AMAZING! The barista was SO friendly and sweet. They were making fresh muffins when I got there. I had the egg scramble on a bed of spinach. The eggs were fluffy and the dish was very good — next time I may request they sauté the spinach and you definitely want to add a few drops of hot sauce. I had a tropical iced tea(they can make any hot tea iced for you). It was delicious. I had forgotten my travel doggie water dish behind and the sweet gal had it waiting behind the counter for me when I came back to look for it. The garden patio out back was really cute. Great place and a really nice stop for folks passing through town.

Equally awesome as the Cayucos location, which I first visited, last year. The baristas were friendly; I came in two different mornings and experienced two different pleasant personalities. The ice blended Mexican mocha is SO good! It even rivals the blended drinks I get at my favorite shop, where I live.(But, don’t tell them that!)

Customer service was good, coffee was okay, breakfast sandwich was under par. Couldn’t even eat my bagel because it was too small for the egg on it, then everything squeezed out as I tied to take me first bite. I paid extra for sausage and had small 3 pieces. Not worth the stop–

The locally gabbed«best coffee shop in town» gives much more credit to Top Dog than is due. In short, the espresso drinks are poorly made and overpriced(a Starbucks quality burnt cappuccino for $ 4), the grub is mediocre(fresh-out-the-freezer deli fare), also overpriced. Half of my experiences were further complimented by unenthused and impolite staff. Is TD the best coffee shop in town? Yes. unfortunately.

The scone was super great. The barista recommended an iced chai which is right up my alley. Gave it a shot and it was phenomenal. Service was not only quick but awesome and friendly. Their garden patio was empty and quiet because i was there in the morning. It was very relaxing. I plan on coming back when I’m in the area again.

I love this small local coffee shop/café. Its almost as much as Starbucks but they could give them a run for their money. They don’t have nearly as many options as Starbucks but what they do have is so good and fresh. A walk away from the beach and several Inn’s.

If you eat her you are likely getting an ingredient you didn’t ask for! The staff here handle all the food without gloves and rarely, if ever, wash their hands. Watch your food being made and you will see. They use their shirts to wipe their hands and then touch your food again. The owner is all about the dollar, dollar bill. They charge you for coffee refills! So you paid $ 2 to drink out of their 8oz cup and sit their eating(if you are brave enough) and they need another $ 1.45 for a refill??? Wow! Good environment, nice staff, cute little shop and garden area but cutting corners to save money is wrong especially when it comes to the health and safety of the community. I’ll avoid this place so I don’t get a plague!

This used to be my preferred coffee and breakfast stop in Morro Bay but the last experience was so bad that I can’t go back. The food was just ok, not as good as I remembered, but it was the coffee that shocked us. Our dark roasts – we drink it black – were so bad(weak and an offensive tasting finish) that we both decided to order something else. Upon returning to the counter, the coffee-maker had us try the medium roast, which was too light for our preference and also seemed to have a terrible tasting finish. So, take-three we ordered two Americanos. We offered to pay but the coffee maker said no. The two Americanos were both watery and tasted off. We finished our breakfasts, left the«Americanos barely touched, and went elsewhere for coffee. We continue to be puzzled by our experience… was there something in the water on Nov 29, 2015? A coffee bar should never serve diluted brews nor make an Americano that resembles a cup of bad mid-west diner coffee.

By far the worst and most overpriced breakfast sandwich I have ever eaten. Coffee is adequate.

This is a cute coffee shop with nice, friendly workers. They have the typical coffee selections and chai teas as well as a loose leaf selection that is very impressive. Tea drinkers should definitely come here. I enjoyed a medium Chai tea that was so creamy and smooth. It wasn’t too sweet either, I was able to enjoy a bar on the side without ruining either flavor. I don’t remember what the bar was but it had raising and nuts in the bottom and looked like a cake on top. It had a holiday feel so I imagine they do not serve it year round. I came here the day after Christmas. On the way out I purchased a large Gunmetal Green Tea to go with a honey stick(only $.25). I love gunmetal tea because it is strong. I feel like I’m fighting any evil demons floating around in my system and then I’m able to eat burgers and fries in peace. Haha.

I always enjoy trying out new coffee places when I am on a trip. and this one was quite nice with plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor. The coffee was pretty tasty, but I did not try any of the food. Will try this one again next time in the area!

Not terrible for a touristy town if you need a caffeine fix, but the actual coffee is just ok. It’s on the expensive side, but they do have a million options of coffee, espresso, and chai drinks to choose from. If you are the type to put a ton of syrups and sugar in your coffee, you probably won’t mind, but the coffee quality just wasn’t there for me.

Yes the coffee is expensive. $ 5 for an almond milk latte is a lot! But I come here not just for the coffee. Morro Bay is the perfect escape when the heat is unbearable in SLO and Top Dog has the perfect patio out back for me and my dog to come work and spend a few hours waiting out the heat of the afternoon. Wifi is good, the patio is quiet, and I can get a lot of work done! The staff is great too. I’ve always had pleasant experiences when ordering drinks.

Not cheap, but a nice, crunchy kinda place to get a decent breakfast burrito or acai bowl. Although I came here thinking I’d find some really good God Pot(I’m dyslexic).

Top Dog was the top of the 3 – 4 coffee places I tried while we spent a weekend in Morro Bay. They edged out the competitors in terms of product quality, selection, service and atmosphere. Well played dog, well played. The next time I get some Morro time this will be the only coffee house I choose.

Super cute coffee shop – the kind you want to stick around and hang out in. They have lots of seating + power outlets. Plus there’s a back patio and front patio(although that one is open to the pubic, I believe, not just customers). I had a Baaad Dog and it did the job of keeping me awake during my drive to SB. My boyfriend got a mocha something and it wasn’t blended very well… we kept sucking up clumps of powdered chocolate(although, admittedly, there are worse things in the world).

I got all excited about the Mexican Mocha after reading the Unilocal reviews… and decided not to have coffee because of the Unilocal reviews… I hate weak coffee. I watched the girl make the Mexican Mocha — it was just a powdered chocolate mix with hot milk as far as I could see and taste. Neither Sofie or I were favorably impressed. The barista attempted to do the flower design on our cups. Sofie’s cup had something that looked like those pac-man things… Sofie pointed to one couple that came in, looked at the menu and walked out. The prices are«tourist prices». We will not return.
