Anderson Diner

Went down to Spivey Hall for a concert, thought this might be a good spot to get some food. Unfortunately it’s closed for «Renovations» with a notice from the Health Department on the door.

Outstanding food ! My wife and I give them the highest mark for the fried chicken
, Turkey wings, collard greens with turkey, yams, cabbage, and cornbread! Service was friendly and professional!

I frequently stop in for my «off diet».guilty pleasure Soul Food. The food is prety good, nicely seasoned, prices are great, portions are decent, and the staff is very nice.

My friend took me here after a weekend matinée. He promised me that I would not regret his suggestion and if I liked it I would go on a second date with him. Well needless to say we did go on that second date!
This little soul food place is simply the best I’ve had in a while. I recommend it to anyone who is considering a second date… LOL!

Ok so I actually liked this place. I’ve been eating here for lunch for about two years. If you’re on a diet, counting calories, or trying to stay in shape– this isn’t the place for you. This is a hole in the wall type of place, just not as run down. I’ve had the fried chicken, baked chicken, fried pork chops, and turkey wings and all have been good. I usually stick with the macaroni and cheese and greens so I can’t attest to the other sides. If you’re ever on this side of town, check it out.

I heard this place had good soul food. I went around 3 pm during the week. As soon as I entered I saw a board with listed specials. Well I was trying to decide what to try but could not do so in peace because an older lady kept asking me what I wanted to order. She was talking to another employee so I figured she would know I was ready when I actually stepped up to order. Well I decided on the turkey but noticed the food looked like it hadn’t been changed out recently. I asked were they bringing more dressing because the tray had only a small amount left. She answered so rudely that they are out for the day I was too shocked to respond. I turned to leave and she loudly tells the co worker she dont know why people get mad when they areout! I thought about turning to tell her that it was my first visit and how are they open and have no sides but instead I left. I still dont know what made her think I was mad because I didn’t say one word. I would never go there again and when I shared my experience I found out that apparently that lady is rude her all the time and that they usually run out of food often. Not sure how as it was not crowded. Poor service added to no sides equal waste of time.

I went to lunch with some friends. I had never heard of this place but one mentioned they used to come to lunch here all the time with coworkers and that the food was really good! The prices were decent. He told me beforehand that they gave you lots of food and you definitely don’t leave not full. Well I ordered the Turkey Wings with two sides (Greens and Mac & Cheese) and i must say that everything that I had was delicious! I must say my friend was wrong though… the portions that i were given were rather small and i was still hungry. And when i ordered my drink… the drink machine was out of order and the only options the had were Lemonade and sweet tea… and they were all out of sweet tea! So I chose Lemonade and it was good also. The cashier was holding a conversation with someone already sitting down while i was trying to pay and wasn’t being very attentive. It took a minute for her to finish her conversation and finally run my card. she didn’t give me a straw or any silverware. I went to get it myself and when she saw that she didn’t do her job completely she apologized and i just smiled at her and told her it was okay. I proceeded to sit down, talk, and eat with my friends. Just as i said, the food was really good but the portions left a lil bit to be desired. I really thought about getting back in line and ordering more food but i didn’t. Even tho the customer service wasn’t bad, it wasn’t great either. Didn’t get as much food as i thought… but the food was definitely good! So if you want a good quick shot of soul food… def look at Anderson Diner. You won’t be blown away but you won’t be disappointed either
