I ordered the gyro plate. The meat was very good and the pita bread was very fresh. All the other meals that I saw people eating look to be very good and well proportioned. The service was very friendly and the cost was very reasonable.

Original review from March 2016: This has got to be the most depressing place in Morton Grove. I waited at the counter for a few minutes, watching little old ladies gambling away their social security checks, and no one ever came to take my order. I literally never saw an employee. I also noticed the very limited menu and conclude, as did a previous reviewer, that this really is just a place to play slots and video poker and no longer an eating establishment. Edit added after the snarky reply from Valerie April 2016: Glad to have confirmed that food is no longer really your thing so I won’t waste my time stopping in again. But you have got to be kidding me about«screening» your gamblers. Do you think I just fell off a turnip truck?

The food might be great if the kitchen was ever open. This is definitely a gambling joint and not a food joint. What I have had there was extremely greasy and not particularly good. Many places that actually serve food first and foremost are way better and in the neighborhood.

Love this place! Definitely coming back! The food was great and the staff was super friendly. Even gave my kids change for the toy machines. Thanks Autumn! And I hope to see you again!

I love this place. The owner is a sweetheart and the ambiance is friendly. Their chicken breast on pita is absolutely the best in the Chicago area.

Been here a few times… quick service but food is average. Had the gyro sandwich. They have wifi which a good thing.

The food here is much better than the cafeteria at the B&G factory.

I was starving after work so a co-worker and I went to grab a bite to eat. We went to «Biggies» located @ 6004 Oakton in Morton Grove, IL. This is a fast food place that has a pretty decent double bacon cheeseburger. Of course there were 2 burger patties on a toasted bun w/cheddar cheese & bacon. I had an everything burger with lettuce, tomatoes & onions on a toasted bun. I added Sriracha hot chili sauce. What a great way to start the day a true breakfast of champions(as long as I don’t have a heart attack). It was a pretty good burger.

Worst pepper & egg sandwich I have ever had. Also the attitude of the cashier needs improving. I’d make it minus stars if I could.

This is my go to spot for a quick bite to eat during my lunch break. The hot dog with the works is my favorite. Friendly staff and good fast food.

Love this place. I always get the veggie burger(don’t roll your eyes!) Owner told me they use Dr. Praeger, which is a really good brand. The bun is nicely grilled and it’s served with the works — cheese, onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, catsup and mustard — I usually request a little giardiniera too. So delicious. And the sweet potato fries were perfect! So few burger joints offer a vegetarian alternative. I really appreciate having this option available. Thanks

This was our pit stop while yardsaling today. It was very bare bones, but clean, and reasonable priced. I like that you can help yourself to free drink refills. Ordered the hot dog special(2 dogs, fries and large drink) for $ 6.15. Everything was hot & fresh! Will return!

Thank you for opening Biggie’s right here in Morton Grove. I was thrilled to see the old Char House back in business today as we went to Menards. It’s clean, good, and busy. The kids enjoyed their meals and the very friendly owner. Val greets everyone like a friend. She knew exactly how to talk to them and get us our delicious food out quickly and correct. We will be back. It’s a great value and delicious stop for lunch.

I absolutely love this place. Dollar for dollar one of the highest quality and most filling burgers I’ve ever had. They’re still hitting a few hiccups with food availability and sometimes incorrect orders but they jump hurdles to right any wrongs. On food and price alone, 6 out of 5 stars. Good friendly service, hope they stick around.

Great burgers! Great Everything! Super fresh and yummy. The service could be a bit better, but the food is really great, so I guess it just kind of evens itself out. Will continue to eat here :)

This is the kind of place that you can drive by and think that you would like to try and then when you go in, it becomes a place you eat at regularly. I ate there yesterday and was very surprised. The food is made to order, was very fresh, and came out quickly. I don’t know if they make their own french fries but they looked and it tasted like they did and they were perfect You can tell it’s family run and that the owner’s care. I was surprised by how low the prices were too, especially for the quality. It’s definitely a place that I would come back to and recommend.

I love Biggies! It fills a niche of a decent fast food place that is desperately needed in the area. Their menu is the typical fast food menu. Their fries are addictive. The please is clean and the owner tries to be most accommodating. Their menu is building and their specials offer alternate choices. Food is great! I’m trying to eat healthier and they have choices for me! I eat there at least once a week.

Update: Been here quite a bit since opening, so I figured it was time to update my review. Their menu has grown quite a bit, and the quality remains fantastic. Burgers, hot dogs, sausages, chicken sandwich, soups, salads, gyros… can’t go wrong with any of it. The Ditka(big spicy polish) and Dogzilla(½ beef dog on a roll) are my favorites. Anyways, all of the changes easily bump Biggies up to a well-deserved 5-star. Old review: Huge step up from what was previously Charhouse. From what I hear, the old place used to be great until it came under new ownership… who ran it to the ground. I guess the old owners bought it back, fixed the place up, and changed the tarnished Charhouse name to Biggies. Food is your typical Chicago style fast food joint. Chicago style steamed or char dogs, burgers, Italian beef, sausage, gyros, etc. Menu is shorter than it was before, but they can at least cook their food properly this time around. Chicago dogs are prepared proper and the burgers are nice and juicy. I don’t like crinkle fries, but theirs came nice and crispy. Cheese fries come with the nice gooey cheddar, not nasty nacho cheese. Nothing too special or out of the ordinary, but they do it right. Staff is very friendly. Place is clean. Food comes out quick and hot. Prices are reasonable. A lunch will probably run you $ 5 – 8. All-in-all a solid restaurant. Among the better fast food joints I’ve been to. In an area where it’s hard to find good options outside of pizza or Asian food, it is welcome addition in my book… especially compared to what it replaced.
