Dairy Queen in Morton has been the town hangout for decades! The ice cream is always great and you’ll bump into all your friends there. The Carius family has been wonderful employing teenagers and they give back to the community. We love the Morton Dairy Queen and you will too. :)

When in Morton this is a must stop for me and the family! This is the Go To Dairy Queen! I won’t go to one for years but the moment I drive into Morton I have to work into my schedule a stop at this location. Call it Nostalgic, or what have you. It’s located right in the heart of downtown Morton. It’s a staple that when you return home or live there it means Summer Time in the Midwest. This Dairy Queen has been located in Morton since 1952 and is a walk up stand only. It’s not the full menu service DQ with hotdogs and food. it’s straight up just Ice Cream. Every great small town has a gathering place for family and friends when you visit and this would rank as one of those places. You never know who you might see here old friends, family, grandparents, aunt and uncles, cousins, classmates, sports teams, the one spot in town that caters to them all! During the summer, always a line, during the Pumpkin Festival, always a line. Just about anytime it’s open, there can be a line. It’s what they use to call a place to socialize. Regardless of age this is the place to be seen on any given great American Spring, Summer, Fall day! They have the standard, Ice Cream Soft Serve Menu along with shakes and dipped cones, parfaits, etc. Butterscotch Dipped Cone anyone? That and Mint Shakes are my favorite!

This DQ doesn’t take DQ coupons. Had to wait a very long time to get Strawberry Blizzard. Then couldn’t find a strawberry in it.

DQ is the HQ for Mortonites year round. Expect long lines during the summer, fall festivals, and after school hours. Just like Seinfield’s famous soup nazi episode, just know what you want and order it at the window. Don’t be «that» dude holding up the line. There’s precious ice cream to be served! Anyway, to me, a non local, it’s just a local Dairy Queen. But to the community, its so much more. It’s basically the best stomppin’ grounds in town!

It’s a nice little stand, great for cooling off in the summer.
